The staff was really friendly and helpful. The hotel design and atmosphere were great. The bed was very uncomfortable - really hard. I stay at alot of boutique / pricey hotels and this was the worst bed I've had.
unique, great location - very little street noise.
Room set up Very poor service! I had water & juice poured over me during breakfast with no apologies! Tea was served without tea cup! Bathroom light was out for one day and not replaced. Laundry list was not provided despite repeated requests.
The rooms were cute. Not to small. Stayed here for New Year's Eve. Wanted a bucket of ice for the room so my wife and I could keep a bottle of champagne cold. They actually charged us $5 for the bucket of ice. Not even Motel 6 charges for ice. Room was also very hot and a lot of noise from the street and hallway. Bed hard and uncomfortable.
location is fabulous, rooftop bar was very nice. the room was very small.
Location is great - the art is amazing and the roof top terrace restaurant/ bar is top
Staff were very helpful and always on hand. The room quality was very high - the recent refurbishment has really focussed on top end materials and furnishings and for a hotel in central New York, the room was of a good size. Its central location in NYC is very helpful to get uptown or downtown and its situation gives an unusually peaceful night sleep in such a busy city. The roof garden was very nice, as were the bars, but some of the hotel claims are overdone. Cocktails are expensive by the time you add on service and tax.
Valet took >45 minutes after being told 10-15 (I allowed 20). Had to request iron, wastes time. Tub drain was fully clogged and GROSS so water did not drain. Shower vent grate was FULL of GROSS dust + mold. Noise outside from traffic, garbage trucks + roof party letting out kept us awake ALL NIGHT, absurd! Sounded like windows on Lex.ave. were open, but they weren't, they're just inadequate!
the room and the position and the "edginess" of the hotel our first room (before we changed) only had a shower and not also a bath
The service, room, restaurant, location were excellent.
Very Very cool. From a British viewpoint it is like Malmaison but taken to the next level and with the addition of 5 star service. The concierge are very good at getting you into those 'hard to book' restaurants. The private guests only rooftop bar is very nice.
Arka taraftaki odalarda kaldik , disaridan gelen havalandırma sisteminin gurultusu , otelin on kapisinda kalmayi arzu edecek kadar rahatsiz ediciydi.
Otelin merkezi konumda olması iyi. booking in verdiği fiatla otel fiatı farklı.otel 200 dolar kadar fazla ücret talep etti ve ödemek zorunda kaldık.oteli booking ten bulmamıza ve rezerve etmemize rağmen kendileriyle de görüşmemiz gerektiğni ifade ettiler.
Otelin yeri çok merkeziydi. Banyonlar eski, dolayısıyla pis görünümlüydü, banyoların yenilenmesini tavsiye edebilirim. Birde lobynin yenilenmesi gerek.
yeri ve fiyatı çok iyiydi.. odalarda daha yeni malzemeler kullanılırsa daha şık bir görünüm verilebilir..özellikle tuvalateler..
This hotel location is very close to all different subway route and restaurants. The hotel lobby was extremely small, no room for luggage storage, rooms have limited space, bathroom has funky smell, bedsheet and pillow have blood stain on it.
Friendliness of staff Small rooms, not big enough discount rates for using garage
We enjoyed our stay because of the helpful staff who were also very pleasant. The location was perfect for us and our adventures in NYC. The room was just a bit small. But it had everything we needed.
It was very close to the art and other things we wanted to see.
Close to area attractions and shopping. Very clean.
Good location in Manhattan Room with double bed is very small; cleanliness behind the beds/piece of furniture to be improved
Cheap and clean We reserved an extra bed, but there was no room for that in the hotel
Good location. Housekeepnng threw away my contact lens solution, they opened the window when they cleaned so my room was freezing every night when I got back. Three days in a row my key didn't work and I had to go back downstairs to have it reprogramed. There was a super funky smell in the room. Thin walls, I could here doors slamming, people talking, etc. There was a thermostat and another heater. When I would turn the thermostat off, the other heater stayed on and I was boiling at night. Internet was really slow. Elevators were also super slow. Poor water pressure in the shower.
Location and value for money
The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. Same goes for the great restuarant attached to the hotel. No problems.
great location. loud neighbors.
Exactly what I needed. No frills, but clean and the room was a nice size.
I liked the location, rooms were quiet and very comfortable. Breakfast area could be improved,a bit small. But selection for breakfast was not bad.
The Hotel was need everywhere we want to go. We could walk to so many places. No
The position is great. The Empire State Bldg is quite close, as well as Times Square and Union Square. You are in the heart of Manhattan! On top of that, the room was super-super-clean and very comfortable. The hotel had some problem with credit cards, however the staff was very willing to co-operate to solve.
Rooms were very spacious
Nothing. I didn't like it. Poor breakfast and the space used as wasn't right for it. The Hotel was very expensive and it isn't look like a three star Hotel.
No mini fridge
The room was a decent size and clean. It had everything as described. There was very little traffic noise, which was good as a number of people had complained about that when I read the reviews The breakfast room really needs to be larger as it was a bit crowded.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Bathroom was well equipped and good sized for this price range hotel. Room was fairly quiet. Breakfast choices were very limited and unhealthy. Elevators were not very functional.
Locations was fantastic Free breakfast was difficult, the 4th floor was too cramped I could not even try the food
The Hotel is located 5 blocks fom Macy's and within easy reach of the Empire State Building. Staff friendly. The room was very small. The view was poor & the bed was uncomfortable. The area in which the hotel was situated felt unesafe. No intenet & conciege not particularly helpful.
The staff was very helpful. Rooms are small but nice and clean. Comfortable bed. The AC/Heating in the room was a very loud, and since insulation was poor you had to have it on all night wich affected our sleep a bit. Breakfast is just pastery and coffe - would be nice with a healthier choice as well...
cleanness, desing windows not soundproof
Perfect hotel, really clean & confortable. The only weak point is that the windows insonorisation is not good.... you can hear a lot of noice from outside... taxis, alarms ,traffic ...
Excellent location and service. The staff one of the best I have ever met. Refreshing experience among NYC hotels It is a boutique hotel, so room is quite small, but still very functioning
It was so central to everything-staff were extremely helpful-very comfortable, great bed, bathroom and TV. Easy start to the day having coffee and pastries! We'll be back-thank you again. Nothing
Central location, surrounded by good restaurants, friendly staff always willing to help and give advice
We had a double/double room and it was had plenty of room and it was very clean and well presented. The staff on reception were very helpful and complimentary breakfast excellent to get you started for the day.Very well located for seeing the city without being very noisy.
Excelent location and extremely caring staff. The room was very small, but fulfilled all our needs and was consistent with the special offer rate we paid for (full price may have been too expensive for this room). Coffee was great, though the breakfast was not very appealling. I missed curtain in the shower to avoid the water to spread on the bathroom's floor and missed more hanger for the towels. A fridge would be very usefull. The grab and go breakfast could be better. Those who would not arrive early for breakfast, would not find anything left to eat.
Friendly staff Nice location Comfortable room No communal space in hotel No double-glazing so very noisy
The staff was really helpful, friendly and polite. It is well located. This hotel is very over rated here. They show themeselves as a design hotel in their pictures just because they have a red wall in the reception and some drawings on the staircase walls. The rooms are just white, plain with huge, ugly, brown furniture that takes up all the tiny space. The only light source in single rooms is a very bright white lamp on the roof. Not even a side table lamp. The shower has no door, just a glass panel that covers half the entrance, so every time you shower the whole bathroom floor gets wet, since you can't even regulate the intensity of the water. The place for having "breakfast" is a joke. It's just a tiny space with 4 chairs behind the reception and a table with some breads & coffee. Juice is charged apart.
This is a great hotel. Great ambiance, staff, and rooms are unique and make it feel like home. Highly recommend this hotel. Honking from cars on the road outside was excessive. Higher floors recommended.
the cocktail bar was amazing, the decor (mood) of the space was also appreciated the location is a bit rough around the edges- the immediate context that is.
The Edition has become my favorite hotel in NYC. It's modern and clean without being trendy. It's luxury without being pretentious. The service was first class. The rooms were spacious, clean, and quiet. Even at $500-$600 a night it's a value. The restaurants and bars were fantastic. I think being across from Madison Park adds something unique. I highly recommend the Edition. Didn't love the elevator set up.
