Location Your view tower on top
Bought two nights at this hotel as a surprise for my sweetheart and I. It's at the farthest end of downtown, but it's still downtown, and it's not at all in a bad area. Every room has a view (just depends on which view you get), which is awesome. It's aged (see Cons notes), but is still a great hotel, especially for the price. The room had minimal scuff/dirt build ups (but was always clean where it counted like beds, toilets, tub), and it was pretty cold, we had a hard time with the heater. I get the feeling that this hotel was absolutely the top of it's line in its day, but has since aged, mostly with grace.
The location the mattress... very uncomfortable.. felt old and lumpy
Everything but the beds. Staff was super helpful. The cleaning person was very nice to us. The views were amazing!!! And it was a very central location The beds were a little old and uncomfortable.
The empire landmark has good prices for a decent hotel. The staff is friendly and there is a cool restaurant on the top floor. Rooms are nice and clean. The issues with this hotel are as follower: you must pay for everything (parking, Internet, ect) & the location is a bit far from the main strip so if you plan to go to clubs and bars prepare yourself to walk slightly farther then you would like.
Loved the location and the air conditioning Hotel was more on the clean side, but needs an upgrade. Lots of cracks and old spots. Super small room and you had to pay extra for parking. Not worth the amount of money I paid.
This was a great location for dining and shopping. Also very close to many activities downtown. Felt nickel and dimed here. Local call charges were $1.05 per call. Mattresses were very uncomfortable, obviously not upgraded in many years. The rooms themselves had not been updated in a very long time either. Holes in the drapes, peeling wallpaper and dingy carpets. Just not up to par for hotels I've stayed at in Vancouver before and way more pricey.
I reserved a room with a queen bed and we were given a room with two double beds. Staff at front desk were abrupt and unfriendly. Free internet in the lobby was weak. On the positive side, the beds were comfortable.
location, big room kids need pay to eat breakfast I booked room with double beds, but I to pay for upgrade from single to queen bed
Comfort and view Reception
Big rooms , awesome view Hair dryer only blew cold air and plug in the bathroom didn't work
The location is excellent and right on Robson Street. The staff were very friendly and willing to help. The room was always cleaned and the room attendants were all so friendly The hotel is a bit dated and the decor proved so. You have to pay for internet access and $9 per day was a bit excessive for extremely slow wifi access. It was painful to try and do any work as it took almost 5 minutes for a single page to load
Restaurant was over priced and food was horrible. When told server nothing was done about it to make it right
I booked this hotel because I got a great deal, but was very pleasantly surprised when I got there and saw how nice it was! Definitely way better than what I had expected for the price I go on Kayak. The single room I booked was very spacious and clean, with a couch, dining table and a full kitchen, even including appliances (full size fridge, oven, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, etc') and dishes in the cabinets!! Staff was super nice and helpful and let me check in early even though I arrived way before the normal check in time. Even more value for your money, they gave me great coupons to use both at the restaurant and the spa. There is also a cool little cafe you can enter right from the lobby. since the weather did not cooperate with my plans to go for a day of hiking in the area while I was there, I decided to stay in and pamper myself with one of the spa packages for half a day. It's a bit on the pricy side, but they really did think of EVERY little detail to make sure you felt pampered and relaxed, so I feel was well worth the expense, and I had a great time. I did not know this, but the lady who took care of me at the spa also told me the hotel is pet friendly which is really nice. Though I did not see any pets over the weekend I spent there. The location is great, right in the middle of everything, walking distance to lots of great shopping, Granville Island, and the sky train. Overall it was a very pleasant stay, and I would totally come back if I'm in the area again. Would have loved to try the restaurant, but it didn't work out with my other plans this visit.
Got a studio suite and was not expecting the kitchen, separate bedroom, big living room and balcony! Great spot.
The location, mini kitchen &1 bedroom suite, the hotels restaurant and a great coffee shop were all great for the cost.
Their Italian restaurant is superb. Pasta homemade daily and the best haibut I've ever had. Rhe rooms are spacious, simple and comfortable. The staff warm and gracious.
Perfect location close to downtown shopping. Great staff. Amazing restaurant on site. Hotel is a bit dated. Carpet was damaged in our room. Very modest for the price- but the location was so great
The spaciouness The pillows were not confortable at all to get a good night rest
Large, comfortable and at a great price.
Very nice employees The cleanliness of my room, needed more cleaning details the room smells the carpet was dirty and you can smell it

location close Stanley park. Very clean and romantic setting. Fantastic view of the downtown Beds were hard and uncomfortable
It was easy to find the hotel location, parking, and the view was lovely. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful, and easy to reach. The bed was comfortable and the room had that sort of dated but welcoming feel. The room looked like it used to be an apartment or condo that was redeveloped into a hotel. There is a pool - in the basement. The fitness center is top-notch. There is an elevator - more than one. A spa and a great little café are on the first floor. The cleaning left something to be desired. The toilet had obviously not been wiped down and there was hair in the shower. The sheets had been changed and windows wiped down - so it was okay...but it could use some work. Parking - When I checked in they said they could add parking at $17/day to my bill. I was fine with that - but when I got the receipt with taxes and fees it was more like $22/day. I would have been fine with the $22/day - but be upfront about it. Either say it is $17/day and stick with that or say it is $17/day plus taxes and fees. It put a sour note on the check out experience.
Boutique hotel; large rooms Overrpriced related to location and lack of view.
the chocolate body paint
The location was great and the employees were very nice. Mattress and pillows were marginal at best.
Excellent location, helpful freindly staff
Thoroughly enjoyed the artwork and ambiance of the hotel. And the staff was great!
Big room and excellent location. Very hard bed and O'Doul's breakfast was disappointing.
The room was super comfy and nicely decorated. The front desk staff was very friendly and able to dispense great information about their city as well as making amazing recommendations for places to eat and drink. The Valet even went out of his way to look for my cell that I thought I had left in car, when I found it in the bottom of my bag he wasn't even annoyed. Thank you for having patience and for the recommendation for the PB&J Burger recommendation. Nothing, I was very pleased with my experience here.
The location is perfect. Many restaurants and shopping nearby. The room has a fridge, a safe and a small wardrobe for coats etc. the staff are wonderfully helpful and the hotel offers free morning coffee/tea delivery to your room. Rooms are nicely renovated but the washroom is tiny tiny tiny and the room is dated. The couch ibarely accommodates 2 people and is uncomfortable, the pillows and mattress are old and soft. The only place to unpack clothing is the nightstand as there are no other drawers in the room.
Personnel was friendly and helpful Bathrooms are a bit in the small side. Booked four people but got three sets of towels daily.
Great location Courteous, helpful and efficient front desk staff Spacious room Immaculately clean Very good restaurant with great breakfast and excellent service Interesting modern art installation Bathroom vanity needed replacing in room #315 Low lighting in bathroom vanity area
Location was fab - in the centre of downtown and near stanley park. Easy to find other places from it. Parking facilities are totally secure. Staff were excellent - in the bar, restaurent, reception, baggage etc, everywhere! Hot tub was also fantastic, hidden in the gym, no-one else was using it and it was a real bonus to have this. Just a little on the pricey side. We did pay for an artist suite although I think an Artist room would have probably been adequate. Breakfast is always at an additional cost which over a few days adds up, although the service and quality of food in O'Douls is fabulous! I don't think the CAD versus the GBP helped us, the conversion went the wrong way from our booking to arrival!
Very comfortable rooms,, extremely helpful friendly staff. On Robson street not far from Stanley Park. Nothing
The personnel was extremely kind and helpful; nice chocolates on the pillows before night; nice bodycare products in the bathroom. Great views from the hotelroom.
Great hotel everything was so nice. The staff were so helpful. The rooms very comfortable and bedding was great!
It is so quite inside the lobby and halls. The hotel's location is so amazing. Yes, the noise out side the hotel specially the Burrard ST.
The service in this hotel is always excellent and guests are made to feel welcome from the moment they are greeted at the front door. Nothing
I was most impressed by the staff. From check-in to check-out, they were all responsive and positive and we enjoyed our visit because they made us feel welcome.
Beautiful hotel. Great Location. Friendly Staff.
Service Concierge, especially Miguel! night desk staff, Zach, Jennifer, & Wing! TV remote was too hard to read, & sometimes didn't work! However, the electrician was quick to arrive!
The location was perfect in the heart of Yaletown in Vancouver. The room was small, poorly decorated and without elegance.
Everything worked The restaurant is excellent but I will like some more alternatives
The staff was great and very helpful. I like the room as well. It wasn't spacious but well designed. Location was within walking distance to great shopping. I would have loved a bigger gym. wanted to try the spa but ran out of time.
Rooms, Staff, location and amenities made this a delightful stay overall. I'd stay here again for sure.
The reception staff was very welcoming,They helped us find excursions and made the necessary reservations. This hotel has no elevators but the hotel staff offered to carry the luggage to our room.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The location is extremely convenient for visiting downtown Vancouver.
They require a ridiculous amount of information at check in. Photo ID of everyone in every room. Addresses, emails, and phone numbers for every guest. They took a $400 deposit in addition to having my credit card (I have no idea why they need that). Out keys didn't work at first and then wouldn't work again the next day. There were no electrical outlets in the room. The rooms were old and derelict. I would expect these rooms to cost somewhere between $30 and $75 per night but they were $250
This was a cheap hotel in a good location. Room was small without chairs Small room and lacxk of chairs, no tea/coffee making facilities as appeared in brochure, though breakfast/afternoon tea area accessible. No internet station, although wireless throughout the hotel, but our netbook had been damaged during travel and we could not use facility.
The hotel is located on Robson Street, right in the middle of tons of shops, grocery stores and resturants. Very close walk to Stanley Park, the marina and other touristy places. Has a kitchen. There is no elevator in the hotel. The beds were not very comfortable.
our room was right beside the front desk/lobby so it could be loud at times. the main window looked right onto the side walk so there was not a lot of privacy.
Julia was the best. She was so helpful and made our first visit to Vancouver wonderful and stress free. Thank you Julia!!!
Location was reasonably central to the parts of Vancouver we wanted to see. This hotel was only worth it due to proximity to other things in the area, such as Stanley Park. The staff was consistently very rude. It seemed that this was due to the fact they were foreign (eastern European) and were not aware of how stern they came off (language and cultural barriers), but still, very jarring experiences were had. The hotel itself is very old and dated (1970s feeling), and has not kept with the times. No elevator, and dreary interior.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located on Robson St with tons of great restaurants and shops around. The building was quiet and the room we were in was quite large with a kitchen. The traffic outside is pretty loud if you are in a room at the front of the building. It can also get quite warm in the room, however there was a fan in our room which solved the problem for us. If you intend on using the blow dryer that is provided in the room, don't use it on high as it will throw the breaker. The breaker switches however are right in the room which makes it easy to fix.
nice staff there, and reasonablly priced. nice location.
The Hotel has been renovated & the rooms are very clean, modern & spacious. The location is very good for anyone who would like to stay in the middle of downtown Vancouver. Having a kitchenette in some rooms, would come in handy for longer stays & providing a light afternoon tea & breakfast was a bonus for the price paid. Our room was at the front of the hotel, so directly looking on to Robson Street, which is busy, which is fine, but there is no air con, so I would think this may be a problem during warm spells, as having the window open would not be an option.
Value priced. Hip location. Electrical outlets are few and hard to find. Dated decor and furnishings.
convenience of location, did not like the silver fish(bugs) or the lack of response from the front desk.
Rooms were noisy and small. Room upkeep was limited.
The location met my needs...no need to use taxis. the staff is superb. Beautiful lobby. Suites so comfortable and homey, while setup would also accommodate te business traveler as well.
This hotel was located in an area of Vancouver which we like to visist, It has a slight european flaver and is close to Stanley park with great walking areas. Also liked its quiet location and great city view.
Rooms are well equiped and personnel is good. I cancelled 1 night at the last minute because of the delay of my flight, they did it free, that's really nice ! noice isn't totally hermetical with ouside.
the central location was very nice, the suite was comfortable, with all the niceties that one would expect, very nice staff, efficient, and responsive... quite.. great view... elevators were slow and shook, the sliding door slid off the rail,, the pool was not open.. the TV's were difficult to use....
central location silverfish in our room
The kindness and generosity of the hotel management and staff were really appreciated. They upgraded our room to the Gentry (because it was our honeymoon), and made our stay memorable. I think i will never forget this experience and our time in Vancouver, thanks to Sandman Suites.
Great value. Nice view. Proximity to shopping and restaurants. Secured parking. Full suite amenities. Dirty carpet, elevators under maintenance
The room was large and had great views of the mountains as well as the water. It could use a little updating, but we didn't mind.
Location was excellent. Very close to Stanley Park which was the main reason for choosing this hotel. The building is quite dated. Elevators re very old, and the Wi-Fi is spotty at best. It is easy to tell that this is a converted apartment building likely built in the 60s.
We liked how centrally located it was and that a suite ensured we could all stay in the same room together. We aslo really liked having a kitchen and being able to eat some meals especailly breakfast in the room. We were unhappy with the maid service. We had to continually phone down for more towels as we were five and they would leave on enough for two. Also the request for bed linin change was confusing and it did not seem as if they got changed during our five day stay.
Its location, friendliness of staff, spacious room, views from balcony room was next to lift which was a bit noisy
great view the rooms online do not at all match the actual rooms was dissapointed with the money i spent to get a room that looked like it hadnt been remodeled since the early 80's
great views, private patio, large layout and discounted price. Did not like paying an additional $25 for parking. Parking facilities should be an included service to their guests. Would rather see a rate discount to guests who do not occupy a parking space. At least not $25 for the day...$7 to $12 would be more reasonable.
Staff was excellent and accomodating Bathroom floor was dirty. Elevator noise in "Premium" suites is very loud but staff moved us to a Junior Suite...smaller but much better.
The staff goes out of their way to accommodate you. Very very friendly staff. For having 6 elevators, it sure took forever to get a one...super super slow. I even overheard a customer complaining how slow. This hotel needs to be remodel. It has been stuck in the 80's mirror motif. I also did not like that their bathrooms had NO fan. So as soon as you took a shower, you have to open up the bathroom door. The TV remote is shady. The power button is right below the button for you to purchase an in house mainstream movie, and when your done watching whatever channel, once you turn the TV off. The TV automatically will return you to the premium movie channel. If you are not watching what your doing, you might purchase a movie...BE CAREFUL. My friend went onto the balcony and he told me it wobbled. They have underground parking, but its best that you have a compact car...tiny tiny spaces.
Wonderful staff, lovely view, great location, love that it was actually doing eco stuff!
The room was clean and staff were very courteous. They upgraded us which was a nice surprise
The staff was very pleasant, the rooms were good value for money and the rooms were clean and well appointed if a little tired. I have no complaints.
Balcony overlooking the Bay.
Beautiful hotel and location Restaurant is excellent Try to do a breakfast package. Well worth it.
The staff are amazing warm friendly and genuinely helpful. Beautiful hotel and good location. A calm oasis in a busy world
Loved it all but found the staff to be extreemly friendly and helpful
cleanliness, modern, practical, amenities the after shampoo conditioner is impossible to get out of that bottle. please change your container!
Staff I have stayed at hotels that cost 2/3 the cost of this place in Vancouver and were just as nice if not better. I am very confused why I paid $600 a night to stay here.
Modern, clean, quiet and efficient
The location was good -- pretty central to downtown and only a short walk to the Skylink train. The living room was extremely small -- much smaller than the pictures on the website. It's not a room one would want to hang out in. So for the price, it didn't strike me as a good value. The check-in process occurs in a dark, run-down room in the hotel garage. I'd recommend the place for business travel. I'm not sure I'd recommend it for leisure travel.
Well appointed, modern, spacious. Construction noise. The hotel failed to warn us about this. We would avoided it.
The service was outstanding. We had two suites during the day of our wedding for both wedding parties to get ready in. All of our requests were completed in a timely and gracious manner. The staff was incredibly nice and overly helpful. Thank you for making our day that much easier. Nothing, it was a perfect stay for what we needed.
It was a beautiful hotel and was reasonably priced.
The staff was amazing the rooms were impeccable the views in our corner suite were amazing !! Although the features of this hotel are truly amazing..... We were not able to stream music via Bluetooth into the stero system from our devices. My girlfriend had made a mix for my birthday celebration we had to listen to it from the iPad
I really didn't like the attitude of the employees(specially the front desk) ..and the quality of the service doesn't high to a 5 or 4 stars hotel service..comparing to other shangri-la hotels world wide
Liked the location, ambience, size of the room and the fact it was very tastefully decorated.
The accomedations and room were great, as well as the proximity to Stanley Park and Denman Street. We loved the staff! They were so helpful and kind. Only two small things...we stayed on the second floor and the hallway smelled like urine, and it was hard getting around my bed....very little room between the wall and the bed. But we would still stay there again.
Location of suites was great near to Stanley Park etc. Comfort and facilities available also made holiday.Staff very helpful.
The staff was always very helpful, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves Not a thing
The best thing was the situation of the hotel. Very near to Stanley Park which is a very beatiful parking place. The most disappointing thing was seeing a mice in the room! The staff was so kind and helpfull to solve out the problem but unfortunately although the effort was great, the rest of our stay was not comfortable at all thinking of that we may have it again!
The price, location, setup as a suite with kitchen, roomy, clean, great staff it was quite warm and we cldn't get a breeze thru the windows.
Great space in the apartment and fabulous location could only use laundry between 4p.m. and midnight and it would have been good if there was a pool
The apartment facilities were very comfortable and the proximity to Stanley Park and shopping centre were ideal. The dvd player didn't work properly and after reporting this was told it was working fine but it continued to play up.
Great time. Superb location, quiet yet very close to west end food, shopping, beach. Very nice apartment, nice furnishings and well decorated. Front desk upgraded us to a two bedroom apartment. We were just in for one night after a long wilderness trip, but would be excited to stay here during a longer visit. Kitchen seemed short of cooking gear, though we didn't stay long enough to warrant asking for additional cooking utensils. But they had a great coffee maker there.
Excellent Satnley Park is able to work around in a few minute. Queit rooms with home like mood. Entrance door was always closed. Late night time no one at the front
Excellent value and location, clean heat is too high - could not be adjusted
It was quiet and comfortable. Sure would have liked some cream for my coffee.
I did not like the fact that there wasnt any a/c in the room and the tv was very small.
The very spacious room and friendly staff Nothing
Truly a home away from home ........ value added plus!
Staff were very helpful in providing directions ,how and where to get which mode of public transport .The book in the room with all the info on restaurants was also very useful.Location was ideal for what we required.Had originally booked 4 days and added a fifth, site unseen ,and were glad we did for this trip.We could walk everywhere we wanted to get to if we chose to.
staffs are helpful breakfast
Amazing staff, room and location!!! We felt like we really lucked out with Sunset are already planning our next stay with them. Special thanks to all the wonderful staff again who were so kind and helpful!!
Very friendly staff and very good quality room for the price (received complementary upgrade)
The suite was excellent, all you could wish for. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the facilities were great. We enjoyed the continental breakfast because we had a suite and could take things back to our room to eat and make the toast. The location was excellent for access to shops. Great having the car behind locked gates overnight. We found the car park location confusing and the access to the underground section is quite awkward for larger cars.
Clean and spacious suite, would have been able to stay for a week, there was that much space! Well, the breakfast was a little poor. All the elements were there (fruit, cereal, breads) but the quality was low-end supermarket style.
I did not like that our bill was over 150 dollars more than it was when I booked with booking.com
Pleasant and friendly staff. Definitely good value for money. Some people may find Burrard St. somewhat noisy but then it's compensated by its excellent location and convenience. We are more than satisfied with the suite that we had. Although we did not do much cooking (apart from breakfast), the facilities in the kitchen were thoughfully provided, such as full set of crockeries and utensils, and daily change of kitchen towel and tea towel. It's always the little things that make one's stay in a hotel more pleasant. Food in the restaurant was also excellent and service attentive. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Le Grande Residence. The airconditioning unit was in a closet in the bedroom and could be a little noisy when the cooling set in. We were not particularly disturbed by the running noisy of the aircon unit, because the weather was still relatively cool. But the noisy could be a problem for some in the summer. Provision of towers - on some days we had two sets and on other days three sets of towels. In a comparable hotel, one would expect to have three sets of towers. Laundry - it would be good if less expensive laundry service could be provided for longer staying guests. Finally, we suggest that guests be provided with copies of bills or chits for expenses incurred in hotel's restaurant for convenience of checking on checkout.
The place is really great! That's all I can say. If you are a family traveling on vacation then the residences are perfect for you. I would definitely stay there again.
Amazing rooms! They are like full apartments.
Clean rooms with everything we needed Couldn't get wifi to work with my iPad (wifi worked with my iPhone though!).
nice room, great location towels are very thin and worn
Robson Suites are 1 block from lower Robson St. Vanc is a very walkable city, so this hotel offers walking to tons of great shops and restaurants, and is only a few blocks from Stanley Park. The staff were helpful in planning our daily excursions. There is lots to do nearby. There is a Safeway and liquor store almost across the street. It would be ideal if they could stock the suite kitchen with staples like salt & pepper, sugar, cooking oil, coffee filters (lame: they give you coffee but no filters!) - the basics. Otherwise, the place is great.
Location within walking distance of restaurants, Stanley Park, shopping, underground secured parking included in room rate
The perfect emplacement
In suite laundry and maid service as part of the complete package. Kitchen, equipped with full size fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, and full oven and cooking range. Supplied with pots, pans, glasses, cutlery and so on. Air conditioned, and roof-top patio access. Would gladly return to this hotel. They don't provide soap for the dishwasher machine; they do provide it for the laundry, however. There is a Safeway directly across the road where one can buy the soap, however.
It was a little home away from home, with kitchen and laundry. The laundry came in handy in drying our wet clothes from the snow that day. Very close (in your front doorstep) to restaurants, shopping, grocery stores (Safeway) and Stanley Park. Free and very secured parking. Booked a studio, and actually got a 1 bd! the floor we were on had 3 extra steps leading up to our room, a slight inconvenience with a stroller
Lots of room, full kitchen, comfortable beds, really quiet for being in the heart of Vancouver, and free parking and free internet nothing
Friendly and personal. Great advice and suggestions from front desk staff - especially Shannon Nothing
The Suite was well-appointed and was perfect as a home away from home with all the facilities you need to cook and wash. It as more spacious than I expected and was in an excellent location with supermarkets (including whole food) and a wide variety of eateries close by. Management was helpful and accommodating of very late arrival following a delayed flight.
Excellent security system, most of the places to visit are at walking distance. Hotel staff did try to help understand the city. The extra charges of $20.00 per night for a child over 18 years old.
Very central location in Downtown Vancouver. Convenient for all amenities, Stanley Park is just a five minute walk away and other main attractions only a short taxi ride away. Excellent. Staff very friendly and exceedinlgy helpful during our stay. A home from home
Great upgrade, the view of the City was great.
The staff was very friendly. The location was very nice. The view was amazing. Lots of noise. We could hear neighbors just talking and laughing until 2:30 in the morning. You can hear all the traffic and business noises. No information on simple things like ice machines or vending machines.
The vibe and location is awesome! Nothing. All was great!
the view, the location, overpriced, hotel just generally need an update and some attention to detail if they're going to charge those rates.
The front desk was very helpful. Being on one of the upper floors was great for the limited view of the water.
Loved being in the middle of the action on Robson street & walking to all of the shops. I did not like the tiny bathrooms.
good location and great confort. Could do with wi-fi No wi-fi
Loved the location off the main road, but next to Stanley Park. Staff was friendly, check-in quick and efficient. Book with the hotel directly to avoid parking fees ($20) Stayed in unit #1010, dated and a bit run-down; as a strata I assume suites vary. Wanted to use pull out couch-hardly room to extend it and it had no linens. Other suites may be nicer.
We love the location! It's very easy to get to and out of. The staff was one of the biggest and most helpful people! Would come back and stay again. Parking was only included if booked through hotel website. It would be nice to have that cost included.
The staff was very professional and the facilities were great overall. There is a strong smell on the floor and a different strong smell in the suite (like fried fish or something) the suite was great although it looked a bit dated . The staff mentioned they would put laminated flooring next year which would help with my 2 points above.
Decent value for the money, very clean There was a 1/4" gap between door and door frame, and cigarette smoke was coming into my lower level room directly from the hallway my first night there--yech! The fire alarm in my room was covered with a paper towel and plastic, not exactly current on safety. Last gripe is that the pillows were insanely thick and hard for me to sleep on.
great location no elevators at all and there ae lot of strais to carry the lagedge
the location is excellent and the set up For the 4 bed room is pretty cool. It is like three separate rooms each with there own bed and table. ( the main bedroom room had a TV and double Beds with a few chairs.) I would go back. Also if you are going out and don't want to lose your keys the front desk can hold on to them for you. communicating of when to check in and check out can be done better.
The Barclay is in a great location- walking distance to shops, restaurants, Coal Harbour and easily accessible to Stanley Park. This is an older hotel but even with the updates it still has dated charm. There is no elevator and overnight parking is available the next block over in a city lot.
Great central location, room was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained I could hear everything (and I mean everything!) from the room above me. Sometimes the room would smell a little stale when I first came in, but opening the windows for a few minutes would clear it out (love that the windows actually open!).
Close to everything. Clean room. Good Amenities. No elevator, no electric key.
Good staff and location. No handy parking for a tall vehicle.
Friendly staff, parking place for car (not expensive) breakfast, croissant not fresh
The room was huge and the beds were nice! We made this reservation at the last minute and we feared that it was going to be trashy, but it actually was lovely for a great price. The front-desk staff were really positive :) I would definitely stay here again. The decor was pretty spartan / bland. Parking was pricey (20$/night) but we drove around until we lucked into a weekend spot. The building is older than other hotels in the area, but that didn't take away anything - it's well kept up.
Clean ,good location. No elevators ! Breakfast was listed as being included but wasn't,very poor buffet offered at 7.99. Very old building.
Well appointed appartment in good location in Vancouver. Pleasant staff willing to help. Would stay again and recommend to others. No
location, convenience to stanley park, shops ,public transport, restaurants, comfortable apartment and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. couldn't have the windows open as it was so noisy.
Great location- very comfortable! Nope
We had a great stay at Times Square Suites! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We got some great shopping & sightseeing tips, including where to find Olympic gear on sale. The suite was roomy and clean, with a small balcony. It was just like having our own apartment in the city. The building is secure. The Safeway across the street ifs convenient. It was a bit cool for us use the roof deck, but it was very nice with picnic and BBQ supplies provided. Housekeeping is available. There is a washer and dryer in the apartment. Stanley Park, many bike rental places, and lots of restaurants are a stone's throw away. We would stay there again! Although accessible by public transportation and not far from many sights, we did sometimes wish we had picked a place more centrally located for a first trip. We probably could have fit in a bit more sightseeing that way. We were able to walk to all of the sights we went to, but walking back from Chinatown and some of the more eastern neighborhoods after walking all day was tiring. We were able to hop on buses once we knew which ones would take us back to the hotel. The Amtrak station was a convenient bus ride away, but the Tsawwassen ferry terminal required two buses and a skytrain in order to skip an estimated 38 minute cab ride. Ultimately it was a worthwhile trade-off, but it required more planning than expected.
The suite was cozy and so unlike a cold hotel room. The roof terrace is charming. The staff could not have been more helpful We had a front room. It was pretty noisy
The rooms are very well equipped, comfortable and cozy. It feels like home. Nothing.
EAse of everything, parking etc, bit short of hot water but everything else very nice
Enjoyed spacious accommodation and easy reach of shops, sea and restaurants. good directions for taxi.
The convenience of shopping and dining, and the security and privacy of the location.
This is a great hotel for families with young kids, especially if you are staying for more than a couple of days. The suites are a good size and the kitchen facilities provide all you need in order to avoid the long waits and expense of eating all meals in restaurants. There is ample access to food nearby, though, ranging from both conventional and higher-end organic grocery stores up through expensive restaurants. No pool on site, which disappointed our daughter, but the hotel does have an arrangement with a nearby gym/pool complex that can be used for free if you choose. Hotel staff are not onsite until 7:00am (its a small hotel, with a focus on long term stays, so people probably don't often need assistance in the arly hours). Payment is handled on check-in but I did need some help at 5:45 one morning when I was getting an early start and there was no-one on site.
It was a lovely, well maintained Victorian house, perfectly located within easy walking distance of many things we wanted to do. Friendly staff. Delicious food.
Warm welcome, helpful staff, and a delicious breakfast. Would return in a heartbeat!
