Aethrio was a slice of heaven! The double room we had was very large with a sofa and big cabinet/dresser. The bathroom was modern and clean. The hotel itself was splendid, atmospheric, and all the rooms appeared to have private balconies. The rooftop patio had fantastic views with sea on either side including view of the beautiful sunset of Santorini. The owner was very kind and helpful. Altogether this hotel is great value for money. The hotel front desk closed by 8:30 p.m. which is just about the time you want to order a drink before catching the sunset. Otherwise we have no other complaints!
The had a lovely ambiance with the typical style of the white buildings with blue doors in Santorini. The water pressure was low in the shower.
The staff is friendly and the hotel is nice to stay. The chair at the balcony is a bit dusty and my room couldn't detect the WIFI connection.
I liked the location and the tranquility of the place, although close to shopping and city center. The staff is very nice and helpful.
I liked that the hotel had a pool and a sunset terrace. They were able to change our hotel room after we were displeased with the first room they gave to us which was dark, unwelcoming and cave-like room. I like that they offered us a small bottle of wine on our welcome. They told us it was complimentary because we were on our honeymoon however every person we saw check in to the hotel received one too! The people at the desk were not very friendly or helpful. The hotel was way overpriced for the amenities and services they include. The breakfast was horrible, canned fruit, packaged meats and stale bread. Our toilet was broken for a day and a half. We were on our honeymoon and very happy to leave this hotel after 3 nights and find somewhere else to stay.
Great location. Very rustic. The suite was enormous and had great outdoor space and lovely views (although not of the caldera). Quite expensive but when compared to others in Oia I suppose its is reasonable. Very poor breakfast in terms of variety and quantity. Breakfast finished at 10am - too early! They continually ran out of breakfast items (eggs and greek yoghurt) and did not replace them. Pool furniture consisted of a few comfortable sun loungers and lots of hard plastic ones which would not tilt. We used some glasses for drinks and the cleaners did not clean or replace them - they left the dirty glasses in the room.
I like the hotel design and location.
The hotel has a very beautiful commun area, a very nice swimming pool, a nice terrace with a view to the sunset, and is very well located in Oia. The rooms are big and calm. The reception gives good directions and informations to visit the island. The rooms are dark, and the one we had, the bathroom was in a cave and it smelled really bad, the smell would spread to the whole room, really unpleasant. We asked the staff if they could change us to another room and they said they were full, considering our stay was for four days. The breakfast is very poor, and repetitive. You really don t get the services, amenities, and rooms structures that you expect for the price paied. The breakfast is from 8h30am untill 10am, and receptions closes at 8h30pm.
The location was great and staff helpful, The pool was wonderful The shower was small but adequate
its a really nice hotel to explore Santorini, especially for watching sunset in Oia. very closed to bus station in Oia, friendly stuff and beautiful countyard. i am impressived the breakfast i had on the top stage in this hotel, facing to sea, thats amazing! the floor of bathroom was always very wet after shower but there is no mat to avoid slip, but they cleaned everyday so its not too inconvenient.
The beauty of the site, the service, The room was very spare in furniture and decorations, the couch was not comfortable and the surface space was much too limited.
Staff was super focused on individual service and locations was absolutely perfect. All was perfect
Everything is perfect... room, view, breakfast, service...
The most remarking thing about On The Rocks : the view , the location. Yes . The staff is not frendly , they treat you as if they are doing a favor to you . My complaints ( for example : cold shower ) were responded with a " I´m sorry... " and not with a " I will try to help you ..."
Great location, fantastic views of the caldera, nice pool area. Also close to small village of Imerovigli with nice restaurants, small supermarkets and car rental facilities. Rooms were clean and cozy, nicely decorated but rather small for the price charged.
The authenticity of the rooms built into the mountain.Cave like very different.
Must be the nicest accomodation on Santorini. Altho slighly remote, which adds to its magic, good walking trail to towns. Staff very friendly & helpful, ideal amenities, very clean, great pool and had own spa with magnificent view. nothing
The view, could not get tired of that view, breathtaking! Also liked the infiniti pool, gourmet dining, the peaceful isolation and the uncrowdedness of this unique and wonderful establishment. And I can not fail to mention the exceptional service of the staff up and down the line, especially George Zygouris of the dining staff. everything was exceptional except for one thing , the room had an open floor plan inclusive of the bathroom facilities and as such there was no privacy when one would needed most.
The views from this location are beautiful of the caldera & peaceful. The staff is courteous & look pleasant with minimal makeup. The breakfast is good especially the choice of healthy nuts. The spa steam room is great. The jacuzzi is not very comfortable & needs more jets. The Nuxe shampoo wasn't very hair smoothing. Their regular prices are too pricey in peak season.
Amazing luxury hotel, perfect location secluded yet very close to touristic villages, breathtaking uninterrupted view to the caldera, great infinity pool, well equiped cave rooms with all the modern facilities, perfect for honeymooners... The hotel just opened in April 2009 even though the service was great some things need to have minor improvements... like over humidity in the room...
Tranquility, the beautiful set up of the hotel, very nice room and the incredible pool!
Fantastic level of service. The private location. The stunning view. The wonderful food. And the wonderfully relaxing atmosphere, a true sancturary.
Stunning hotel. The most incredible view, incredible breakfasts, beautiful rooms and highly professional and courteous staff. Liked everything
San Antonio offers genuine, unpretentious luxury, high quality services and tactful/amicable/ welcoming environment from all its staff. The unique combination of the "private" view with this high quality service offering makes the staying in San Antonio a special, private and worthwhile experience. Even though San Antonio was only working for 2 months when we visited and there are very minor practical things that could be further improved, I do not think that any of these things would change my view of the hotel, therefore are not worthwhile to be mentioned.
Quiet and beautiful environment situated on the caldera cliffside. Helpful and friendly staff. While essentially isolated from the main towns, it was also relatively convenient to travel to Oia and Fira with a bus stop in front of the premises. Since the hotel is not very close to any shops or restaurants, you will have to either eat and drink at the hotel, or, take the bus/taxi for 10+ minutes to any nearby town for food and necessities. A simple trade-off if you know what you want.
We've had a wonderful stay in this fantastic and hotel for our honeymoon. It's just located on the cliff of Firostefani and very close to that famous church on most of the postcards. The view from the private balcony is absolutely amazing and we watch the sunset everyday there. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The facilities are full equipped in the room and also the design is quite...
Excellent personal service, excellent quality of breakfast served in the room upon request. Amazing view, relaxing atmosphere Small pool
My new husband and I could not have been more pleased. This was our favorite place of 4 part honeymoon. The view is unbelievable and incredibly romantic.
location, staff and general feel of quality. food excellent. pool side service for drinks etc was hard to come by. excellent service when found though!
Beautiful setting and facilities. Wonderful and attentive staff. Difficulty in locating and unattractive approach.
Amazing View, the hotel is fantastic and the staff was great!
Very nice and warm welcome from Sofia and her crew, very nice rooms, nice badroom, large bed, superbe view on the Caldera. Very good breakfast on your private terrace. Sofia is really caring for her guests! Excellent new discovery! Continue like that! Nothing!
In addition to the breathtaking views and luxury suites, Sofia and her staff were some of the most amazing people I've ever had the pleasure of staying with. We stayed here for the first leg of our trip to Santorini (3 nights) and were blown away by the hotel's beauty, serenity and hospitality. For us, staying in Imerovigli was perfect, as it was in between Fira and Oia -- so we could get to either easily -- but was less busy and chaotic, which provided for a peaceful and romantic stay. If we ever make the trip back to Santorini, we'll definitely be staying at Absolute Bliss.
The best is the view, and there is a nice very good and cheap restaurant near by The Hotel access is difficult and there is no signs
Absolutely fabulous. The room is amazing the view is incredible. warm hospitality by the staff. Sofia was really helpful and courteous. Absolutely recomend this hotel as one of the best in Santorini !
Sofia was the most perfect host. We were more blown away than we could have even imagined by the hotel. As the name alludes an absolutely blissful experience. It was the very end of the season so the weather was chilly- but could fault the service not!
Having breakfast served every morning on the balcony was amazing and looking out at the magnificent view.
every thing is good.
Wonderful view from room, breakfast on the terrace, room itself, perfect situated hotel (location), Nothing!! Everything just perfect! Pitty that it became very windy, so we couldn't use the terrace anymore. Beautiful anyway.
The design is amazing, the rooms and the private balnonies are huge and very comfortable. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast excellent. View beautiful. It was advertised the room as an caldera view. Its not. its is facing to the island in front of, but i didnt mind finally because its nicer than the caldera.
The staff at the hotel were helpful. The room was a bit dated but we didn't spend a lot of time there. The location is at the end of the village in Oia which was fine as we were away for other travellers. It is on the main level so minimal stairs
Room location and view from our balcony. Breakfast was sufficient. Long climb up the stairs which are on a steep incline.
Hard to beat for the price point. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Highlights: 1) The staff: Never saw anyone at the hotel who WASN'T smiling. They went above and beyond to provide relevant and useful advice, arrange any excursions, and improve the stay. 2) The facilities: The common areas were beautiful, the room was spacious and comfortable. 3) The convenient location: The hotel is located across from a couple shops (including a grocery store) and just down the street from the nightlife and tourist attractions- without being so close that you have to hear the bass of the clubs all night (unless you are into that!) Santorini is renowned for its panoramic views of the beach- this location does not provide that. Also, the rooms are not sound proof so if you are a light sleeper it could be an issue.
Great hotel, albeit a bit smoky for our tastes (but all of Greece is). Could walk to Fira center easily. Room was nice and clean. We stayed in the 4 bed hotel and everyone fit comfortably.
They upgraded us to a suite with no charge, since it was our honeymoon. The room was nice and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was very good, and the complimentary bottle of wine as a welcome was very appreciated.
We enjoyed our stay at Amerisa Suites, although we requested a room with a view, it actually faced a back street. Our room was clean and had everything we needed, even if we weren't in it much. Breakfast was enough and the gentleman who served the breakfast, showed us to our room and seemed to do everything else was very helpful. We hired a 4 wheel motorbike from the hotel but in retrospect, we would have done it ourselves to get a newer, better bike. The brochure said they supplied the room with a bottle of water daily but they didn't. we hired a motor bike from here and although it got us around, we could've got a better one ourselves.
the free upgrate to some better rom you cant realax or sit outside of the room or on the pool site because the hotel is locatet in some 180 grad turn from the mainstreat who the nois from cars and motorbikes gos 24 hours. If you have wet feets the floor get dirt marks because of the dust from the trafik
Staff, comfortable room, breakfast. It was on the main road. Noisy.
Amerisa Suites was amazing. Our favorite place. Petros picked us up from the ferry and was incredibly nice and helpful. We had some problems booking a future ferry ride, and he helped us get through the situation. George from the front desk was extremely accommodating, and answered any question we ever had. There was free internet at the hotel as well. We were upgraded to a honeymoon suite with a private hottub, balcony and swimming pool at no extra charge!
The service is excellent. The owner kindly upgraded our 1x double bedroom and 1x triple bedroom to suite and it was totally amazing! I like the complimentary wine offered and placed nicely on the desk when you stepped into your room. The view was excellent. There is a small path across the mainroad towards the city centre which take less than 10 minutes to reach. However, it is a bit steep for old
The staff are very nice. The location is ok, even though we must say it's quite noisy as near busy street and they have very thin wall, but it's fine for us.
The people who ran the hotel (I believe George Kalfagian and another young lady) were extremely helpful and kind. George drove me to my meeting the first day because I was lost and was late. I had cut short my visit because of travel changes and they allowed me to check out early. The facilities for a quick shower and toilet use after checking out is excellent. I will use this hotel again and will recommend it to friends.
The hotel was very good for the price. The pool was good and it was only a short walk to the centre of Oia. The staff were very friendly and even came and picked us up when we couldn't find the hotel. Breakfast was not included in the price. There was not map for the hotel on the website so it was difficult to find the hotel when we got there.
Location is great Bathroom toilets are in a real tight space Beautiful location, excruciating walk
when we complained see the below we got upgarded to a lovely hotel. Except we had to stay one more night in Athina we were underneath the breakfast terrace and everytime someone moved a chair to sit down it would be noisy in our room. We were next to the pool and when the filters were turned on in the morning it had a loud humming noise in our room. The bed was very old and everytime one of us moved it was squeak. Because of the above it was not worth the price
Very good location, nice pool area and terraces, excellent staff, good with fridge in the room and the possibility to bring your own drinks outside. Rooms are more 3 star standard but the outdoor hotel area is very nice which compensate.
The personal service was wonderful. The fellow that works there even carried one of our bags up all the stairs to the street level...unexpected assistance that was greatly appreciated, thank you :)) The view was to die for and the sunsets were amazing. We had a great balcony and could even use the wifi outside!! One friendly suggestion - perhaps a longer shower curtain or higher shower surround to prevent water all over floor.
The view was amazing! The staff was very helpful. The beds are uncomfortable.
The views, the wonderful staff and the breakfast served on the balcony every morning . Great for couples None
beautiful views and clean accomodations
We were very satisfied with all of things during our stay. Especially, the breakfast and also the restaurant were excellent.
the magnificent view
The stay was magnificent, especially due to the staff and due to its location (away from the masses, especially the masses of cruise ship inhabitants). Highly recommended for anyone, although if you want the "classical" view of the entire caldera, this hotel (awesome view though it has) doesn't have the full view.
Breakfast served on your own patio nice. View spectacular. Air conditioning worked but did not cool well. Temperature outside was 80's.If temperature hot -- may be a problem.
cleanning, excellente view and services.
The pool Deck was awesome, the room was large and very clean, the hotel menu was good and food was fresh. Generally, the staff were very polite and even though the location of the hotel isn't in Imerovigli itself, I much prefered that. Being away from the village meant more privacy and the feeling of being in the open as some hotel pools in Ioa or Imerovigli are right beside walking paths. Also, while bus stop is about 150m away. I'd recommend a hire car or quad bike. The girls on the front desk were a bit aloof at times and while friendly when you had a question, didn't give the impression of wanting to help or as caring as the staff who cleaned, served etc.
Great place, amazing view, excellent staff. Breakfast was exceptional! Expensive, there are better alternatives in this price range
This is a small but exceptionally well managed resort with only 15 studios/suites. The small team work very hard to make your stay enjoyable in a fantastic location away from the crowds. Don't be put off by the latter as an excellent bus service runs every 30 mins to both Fira and Oia. A small team means a limited fixed menu but Oia in particular has lots to offer.
the location was wonderful with incredible views as well as very quiet. Complementary breakfast by far the best of any hotels I've stayed in. Helpful staff will arrange transportation to airport.
The staff was incredible and the resort was beautiful. We loved the close proximity to Oia (short walk) and the views were absolutely stunning. We also loved eating lunch there (wonderful food with impeccable service). I wouldn't change a single thing about Kirini. No, it was stunning and the service was impeccable.
classy property with experienced committed personable staff ...excellent attention to detail...serene environment and magnificent vista...elegant yet casual.
Absolutely lovely hotel and just the right touch of liveliness.
The all-white interiors and exteriors were exactly as per the photos - we were very pleased with that. The spatial quality and service experience was very good. Food was also great just 1 small unpleasant incident that is not really due to hotel - the hotel promises that their guests are given priority at selected restaurants but despite making a booking for Ambrosia & Nectar through the hotel, the maitre-d was extremely rude and dismissive.
An amazing setting complimented by fantastically attentive staff
The view was an amazing and the staff as well. Amazing room and service. They didn`t have Frappe or Freddo which is a must in Greece but for the rest was great.
incredible view, even if from our room you weren't able to see the caldera and the sunset...swimmin pool. too expensive for the quality of the rooms.
The service was excellent and very friendly, the rooms were beautiful - CD player in room etc. We had our own sun loungers and the pool, although very small was very much appreciated.
Staff were great, really helpful and friendly. The view is amazing and it is a very romantic setting.Hotel was beautiful. The loft apartment although nice has a ladder to go up to the bedroom. We probably should have be told about this as it was dangerous in the middle of the night to go down to the bathroom. Also the caldera apartments are at the bottom of the hill with a very steep slippery path going up some older people may not have managed this.
The view was amazing. The pool was great and the rooms were lovely. The breakfast was a little average for the price, but the view and location overcame everything!
Great location, facilities and staff.
The staff were very accommodating and kind. The view and location in central Oia were lovely and the accomodations were very traditional. The location and studios we booked and stayed in for 1 night at Caldera Villas were very poor and not nearly worth the price. They were down the caldera 100 difficult steps and the rooms were tiny, very basic and unattractive. One bed was up a narrow ladder in a loft. Fortunately the manager was able to move us to rooms at the Residence Suites annex for our next 2 nights. Those rooms were much larger and more attractive, but with no special amenities. Though much better, this hotel was also somewhat overpriced for what it offered. The breakfast was terrible, especially the orange juice and coffee.
The view overcharge for a little hospitality i.e. no water bottle, no toileterry, poor breakfast quality
The rooms are lovely and romantic, so is the private balcony overlooking the Santorini caldera. The swimming pool and the terrace around it are very pictoresque and relaxing, one could spend hours just sitting there and admiring the dramatic scenery of the island from the pool itself. In all, the hotel has a calming aura, it is so pleasant, that one gets reluctant to leave it for too long. Two things must definitely be changed in the description of the hotel. First of all, there is no full English breakfast (one of the main criteria why I choose this hotel). When I asked about it, the employees stared at me clearly revealing that they did not even know what English breakfast is. Overall, the breakfast is very poor for the high price one pays for this hotel. The selection of food is limited and cheap, plastic glasses are a bit insulting. This is the only reason why I felt that I did not get what I ought to for the money paid. It must be definitely mentioned in the description that there are numerous steep steps leading down to the hotel. For me that was slightly discomforting, but elderly guests would find it very difficult.
What a postcard perfect hotel. Amazing facilities and def worth every penny!
Beautiful location, excellent service, friendly staff. Both day and night managers were enthusiastic and very helpful. Particularly appreciated the free room upgrade upon check-in. I should note that the hotel does not directly access the pedestrian-only section of Oia; rather, it is located a short walk away on a narrow street. Swimming pool was a standard pool at the top of the resort - preferred the hotels with infinity type pools towards the bottom of resort (overlooking the caldera rather than hotel rooms)
Just wanted to mention that this hotel is unreal on the opposite side. There are two sides...one upgraded and one traditional. The location is excellent for both. If you want to book a suite, you will get the upgraded beautiful side with larger pool, better breakfast ect. The traditional side also has amazing views and you cannot beat staying in OIA. In fact, if you come to Santorini, you must stay in Oia. Dessy was amazing at the front desk. Hospitality was incredible. My room #5 was large, great views, access to street with wrap around balcony. But the suites were out of this world but much more expensive. Perfect for romance and privacy.
Canaves has a terrific view of all of Santorini with a romantic setting. Staff was superb.
Visit the surrounding island on ATV's. Power went out several times
The location was wow!! Our reservation was upgraded to a junior suite which was very much appreciated. The breakfast spread was lavish. The service and quality of food served in the restaurant was outstanding. The stay was perfect & if you want to stay at Oia then you should be prepared to climb that many steps. The hotel charged my card 50% of the tariff and did not stick with the booking conditions. Of course they refunded it after a bit of correspondence.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the Fira location was convenient. The hotel, an updated former mansion, was very charming. The view is not that spectacular since the hotel is not at the edge of the cliff and is surrounded by other buildings. I would have preferred a view that shows more of the sea and volcano.
It was a quiet hotel, with friendly staff and generally good service. A perfect place to escape from the world. I had to ask for the bed linen to be changed on one day.
This hotel was excellent! Great location, helpful staff and very relaxing by the pool. Most important to know are directions as website is not accurate and no pick up from airport or ferry offered. Walk up the pedestrian street (Main St) over the cobble stones and walk up the hill about 600m, walk past Hertz and turn left just after Sun Sand & Sports and you will see the hotel. There are no signs and most locals don't know where it is.
The staff was always extremely helpful and friendly. Wonderful and sweet location. Everything nice and clean. Site is located in the centre of Fira but still really quiet. A place to relax.
The staffs are very nice. we loved the environment. and it is close to the Fira center, just few walking time. lovely hotel!!!!
Central location, clean, nice staff and hotel.
Super place to stay in Fira. Location is fantastic and plenty of room. A quiet place in the centre of town. Htel staff go out of their way to make you feel special..
Location, location, location... Curtains too thin, bathroom less lights, a/c behind the curtains, bed could have been bigger in size.
The staff are very professional and work hard to please their clients. We loved the proximity of the hotel to everything we wanted to see in downtown Fira, the suggestions made by Ana the manager, and the handling of the overbooking issue. For the question about the usefulness of the reviews, there are not any displayed yet.
Aria Lito was a lovely place that provided the perfect atmosphere for our stay. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to help.
