Location If you want to sleep past 7am avoid room 221. It's next to the maid's "staging area" ,so starting around 7 there's loud banging around & talking. The walls are quite thin.
Very clean hotel in good neighborhood. Arlington is very nice and is easily accessible from the hotel. Compared to other hotels in the area is very affordable. The staff was also real nice and if you need to store your luggage after you check out for sightseeing you can for free. There is a decent walk to the nearest metro rail station to get into DC and the surrounding areas and the highway can be a little noisey. No breakfast included.
I loved being so close to the metro. I found the room and bed comfortable and adequate. The fridge and microwave made it so we were able to provide most of our own food, which was a plus for us. The prices were the best we could find so close to downtown. You can also easily walk to the Iwo Jima memorial. No elevator anywhere near our room, so you had to carry everything to the second floor (not that atypical in my experience). The pool was a big letdown. It would have been a big perk for our young children. The water was cold; the whole pool room was so foggy in the evening that you couldn't even see across the pool; the shower curtain in the pool changing room was covered in dead gnats, and the ceiling was covered in condensation that dripped on you as you changed.
Location Tour buses took over the parking lot
Close proximity to the metro. The hotel is not far from the metro, but it is also right off the side of the highway, making it quite loud and a little bit of an eyesore. When I arrived, the staff seemed a bit confused on how to check me in. They allowed us to "check" our bags for the afternoon while we traveled. The pizza place next door seemed enticing at first, but quickly turned us off by the looks of it. Appearance is everything sometimes. Very poorly cleaned room. Hair left in the hair dryer. Shower looked like it had not been cleaned. Overall, poor quality. The room was really warm, despite efforts to turn down the heater. Would not stay here again and would not suggest to a friend. Way overpriced for value.
Price was pretty good for DC during spring break. Close to subway. Wireless was extremely slow and intermittent. They felt is was our computer but we had several...they could not all have issues. The room was moldy causing a lot of allergy issues.
stair access only to second building. Terrible set up for the handicapped
The rooms were reasonably updated, good cable tv options, and the pool was terrific (lifeguard on duty, so I got to swim laps while the kids splashed. . ). Our rooms were actually quiet, everything was clean, and the staff quite helpful. I particulalry enjoyed the fresh coffee in the lobby (though missed having a hearty French Roast for much of the trip). Most of the restaurant choices are a few blocks away, so we got some exercise when tired of Ledo Pizzeria and diner. Wish the pool was open earlier in the day, and it could stand some spiffing up.
The rooms we're clean, it is not too far from the main points of interest-$15 taxi ride or a cheaper metro ride takes about 25 minutes We called the hotel to say that the first person from our group to arrive will not be the one whose name is on the reservation to make sure there is an easy check in, only to find out that the hotel cannot find the reservation even though we received an email confirmation. Saying that there is no reservation at all we we're told to call the booking website, we're places on hold by the hotel for a long time before we finished a sentence, and overall it was really hard to edible this and took us 50 minutes of calls to figure it out and find the reservation.
Decent room but the no coffee and breakfast doesn't seem like a big deal. Until you're there. Then it's super annoying. There's a Days Inn near here on Pershing Drive, I'd stay there overeating here.
This Best Western is very run down. There are cracks in the bathroom walls, mold or dirt in between tile. The room didn't smell clean, nor feel it. I would prefer hotels not spray room freshener (which they didn't), however it had a stale smell. The first room we were given was #119, whatever you do, don't take this room, it is next to the laundry room and the noise and banging from the machines is not tolerable- this room should be a storage unit- not fit for humans. ( it is also right under a staircase to the second floor- kids were running up and down alot. Second worst experience at a hotel/motel ever!
The room was clean and quite. Close to DC. Friendly staff. Took 30 min for staff to get reservation. No tv remote. No breakfast
Great location for access to the metro and a variety of nearby restaurants. As others have noted, there is a steep hill between the hotel and the metro, but the hotel does have a scheduled shuttle run to the metro and the Safeway in Rosslyn. There is a CVS next to the metro. The Kayak deal was fantastic. The rooms are efficiency style with an apartment style fridge, microwave, dishwasher, etc. The room AC worked great. I would definitely stay there again. There is minor renovation going on now.
We were in between a Rochester NY business trip & one to Baltimore so decided to stop in DC for one night and much of next day. Too bad it was incredibly cold in DC but the hotel was great all around. Cccccold temperatures outside, oh well.
Great location, 3 blocks from Metro and then a 8 minute ride to DC. Large spacious rooms with kitchenette, great for families and longer stays. Complimentary breakfast standard and good.
The rooms were very nice & pretty large with a full kitchen, the complimentery breakfasts were actually quite nice. It was nice to have the Metro station only about 2 blocks away. I was given a room with 2 beds rather than the King size bed I researved & it was uncomfortable to sleep in the smaller bed w/my boyfriend. They did switch me over the next day when a room became available.
The location of this hotel was excellent..The breakfast was gourmet..I would stay here again and recommend it to everyone..
Large room and bed, good view of DC, close to highway and short walk to downtown Arlington, kitchen (if I'd stayed longer), nice breakfast buffet with great view, friendly staff. Quick help on getting taxis. Staff should point out the early evening light dinner buffet. Also, include instructions in case someone hasn't used the RFID door key before. Elevators could be cleaner.
Room was well equipped with full kitchen, modern furnishings and good sized. Great place for extended stay. Nearby dining and metro stop. While it has a gym there is no pool.
Close to Metro and DC, liked the breakfast and dinner on site (included in price of room), spacious room Front desk staff could use some people skills training
The room was huge and the living room area had two great chairs, TV, lamp, and a table. The kitchen was fully equipped with a full size refrigerator. The buffet breakfast was one of the best we have ever encountered. There was just a short walk to a dozen restaurant choices and the Courthouse Metro Station.
Location was excellent, close to DC Metro stop and Arlington Courthhouse area, Ft Myer, Arlington Natl Cemetery, Iwo Jima Memorial. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful at check in. Parking was limited, hotel was very crowded and loud in common areas such as lobby, restaurant area and hallways. Children running up and down halls. Rooms were a little bit worn but accomodating.
Good location to arlington national cemetery. Comfortable rooms. Parking is a bit of a problem. Thus would be a deal breaker if the hotel was at capacity.
Free early check-in. Quiet room. No free wifi. Drab view from room.
Very quiet, no outside noise what so ever despite the location. Nothing that set apart the Ritz from the others, room, furniture, bathroom was very medicore and what you get from any other hotel in the same class.
The Metro was just outside the front door and it made for very easy trips on the metro. The airport is only two stops away and you avoid the hassle of traffic if you don't have too much luggage to carry. I saw several families there so I think it would be a nice place for families too. And of course, the service was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Everything! Service excellent, great atmosphere and convenient to all local area Nothing,
We came for a visit to D.C. and chose it because it was next to a metro station. I booked a double but when Checked in they tried to give me a king. They bent over backwards to make sure I got the room I needed. One night my son left his glasses in the work out room which was closed at 10. The staff was very accommodating and found someone to unlock the room to get his glasses. The pool area was very nice and relaxing. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Nothing seemed to work or was up to date. The TV didn't work, the shower drain was incredibly slow, one of the lamps didn't work, I scraped my hand on the bathroom ceiling because it was so low, and my room service food arrived cold. I wouldn't stay here again.
The staff was incredibly helpful. I worry about travelling alone because I am disabled. This is one of the two best hotels I have ever stayed in. The other one was another Marriott! My room was comfortable, the room service & restaurant were both good and the staff was courteous. Being disabled, I required extra assistance at times and also moved slower than most people due to leg braces. The staff was patient and understanding, that doesn't happen often in my experience! The only shortcoming I saw at all was the bathroom in my room. It appeared to me that the housekeeper was taking shortcuts when cleaning it. Everything else was just fine.
I was visiting for the Marine Corps Marathon & this location made race day stress free since I could walk to the start without hassle of needing to use the metro or other transportation. The air conditioning unit made a loud click each time it turned on which was annoying when sleeping.
Location was conveniently located to Georgetown and also within walking distance to the Rosslyn Metro Station. Uber rides were only about $10 to the National Mall area. Overall good location, clean hotel, great place for those that want a trusted hotel brand, but don't anticipate spending much time in the room. Street noise, especially motorcycles, were very loud starting at 5:00 AM (request a courtyard room). Air conditioner within the room was also loud. Beds were moderately comfortable. Didn't use the fitness center or pool area, but it was dated.
It's a fairly standard Marriott with a good location for business in Arlington, VA, close to a metro station. There was a large party of high school students seemingly unsupervised by any adults making a lot of noise for an extended period of time. I wouldn't come back if this is a regular occurrence.
I am disappointed with kayak as I cancelled this reservation via my kayak app on 31 August but when I returned to the app on 6 September to make a rental car reservation learned it was still listed as active. I called your secondary hotel room provider "getaroom" who could not explain what happened only that they don't allow cancellations through kayak's site. I do t think this is fair and would appreciate being refunded the full cost of this reaervation $423.81. I appreciate your attention to this complaint.
Comfy The food at the breakfast Buffett was terrible. The eggs were runny and tasted like they were liquid eggs. The fruit tastes like it was packaged, not fresh. You could just tell it was all cheap food, nothing was fresh. The air conditioning in the hotel was either not working or not turned on. All of the common spaces were miserably hot. The fitness center was a joke. It was in a dark, dungeony basement. There were no fans to keep it cool. The equipment was cheap and the tvs on the treadmills didn't work.
Lobby and pool are nice, location is close to metro Our bathroom was run down the finish on the tub was peeling off, little knowledge abt are restaurants and the concierge comes in at 11:30 so if you need lunch reservations you are on your own, they sent me to a closed restaurant.
The staff was always friendly and always very helpful!
The hotel was reasonably close to the Roslyn metro station so it was easy to get to and from D.C. The view of the Potomac and Georgetown was gorgeous. The bellhop was very nice and helpful. The fruit infused water in the lobby was a refreshing treat. The bed was comfortable. The outside pool was small and crowded, but it was the week of Fourth of July. The tub didn't drain as you showered. My biggest complaint was that housekeeping didn't clean our room any of the 8 days we were there. I tried to resolve the problem on the sixth, seventh, and eighth evenings of the stay but each day we returned to our uncleaned room.
On the night I have arrived (very tired, by the way), I was informed by a rather impatient receptionist that there is no room for me - despite the fact that my card was charged in advance (I presume that big hotel chains oversell). After some consideration, I was put in some hidden room on the first floor, where the view from the window was literally the insides of a booth attached to the building with construction materials in it. Trying to cope with this situation, I had a dinner at the hotel restaurant - just to get a food poisoning (the food was certainly not fresh). Next day I was moved to a slightly better room. Overall, the hotel is in a desperate need of renovation (except for the lobby which looks OK) and better management - one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had. The location is bad - there is nothing in the immediate vicinity, and the commute to Arlington or DC is not convenient.
Very clean. Quick check in process. The employees were great?
Nothing. They overbooked the hotel and I was moved to one much further away. I had a very bad experience. I arrived at around 6 PM and was told that due to their renovation, my room was damaged and so I would be moved to a hotel "15 minutes" away. The alternative hotel was 30 minutes away without traffic, and it took an hour in rush hour the next morning to get into DC. Plus, the alternative hotel was less expensive, but they didn't refund the difference. Really disappointed.
The room was great, spacious and clean.
The staff was very professional and my room was veryclean and comfortable! Walls were a little thin and I wish the pool was open longer.
Great location, friendly staff, comfortable beds. Air conditioner functioned very poorly, workout equipment was outdated, bathroom/shower was outdated. Way too expensive for such an outdated facility.
Amazing staff, very nice and extremely helpful. Anything I needed they were there to assist. Location had restaurants in walking distance and drive to DC to sight see was mere minutes away. The bar located down stairs was tasteful and quiet. Overall amazing stay.
Lovedthe room. Nice location. Loved the apple cider and free Starbucks in the lobby. Will stay again.
Pets were allowed ... Not cool!
Very clean and nice room. Great customer service and the staff was very helpful with anything I needed. Would definitely stay there again!
Very clean Awesome staff Valet drove cars a little fast.
Staff was very helpful and friendly; liked the fact that hotel is pet friendly - even had a water bowl at the front entrance for pets waiting while cars were unloaded. Square "rainwater" shower looks nice, but gives too little water pressure. Valet parking service wasn't very fast retrieving cars - looked a little understaffed.
Love the pleasant, professional staff, cleanliness of the hotel from the front door throughout. I will return to Westin Arlington Gateway South Carolina visitor No complaints
Friendly and knowledgeable staff made for a welcoming atmosphere. The bathrooms could stand to be remodeled.
Convenient to metro and restaurants Very strong cigarette smoke odor even on nonsmoking floor, and the Vantage Point restaurant was very poor (understaffed, cold food, slow service) for breakfast
Everything was awesome. Love the lounge Nothing. Everything on point
I had a spacious room with good views and a couple of terraces to boot. The room was clean and quiet. The price was right. The quality of food in both Potomac Perk and The Vantage Point were poor. The Vantage Point has a nice view though and is a good place to get a drink,
Easy walk to Rosslyn Metro even for a 5 and 7 year old-easy access to DC. Pool was small to medium size--fine for young kids (shallowest point is 3.5 feet but quickly deepens to 4 feet). Breakfast is served on top (17th) floor...great view across the river to DC. Refrigerator didn't work (well, the light did, but that's about it) so our breakfast food went bad overnight (yea, I know, I should have double-checked it). However, I contacted the front desk and they comped us free breakfast for a family of 4 without any hassle.
The view and the location for the price was unbeatable. Restaurant upstairs was pretty wonderful as well. We had some problems at checkin. One of the staff members tried to downgrade our room to double beds when we had reserved a king. She did compensate us with a breakfast coupon, however. When we got to the room the view was not as good as she had expressed and the beds were small so we went back down and were taken care of by the shift supervisor who not only let us keep our coupon but also found us a room with a higher floor and a king. I guess what bothered me about this was that it was supposed to be a relaxing get away and it began a little stressful.
Upgraded to a king suite. Loved it. Great view thank you
Hotel was a great deal. Its not downtown DC, but with the proximity to the metro right across the street it doesnt matter. You can get from the hotel to the National Mall in 15 minutes. Free onsight parking was great. You get what you pay for here. It certainly isnt a 5 star hotel, but it isnt a dump either. Its perfect for a weekend getaway if youre just looking for somewhere to rest your head for the night without too many bells and whistles. Small shower.
Free parking, the metro is right across the street so you can get pretty much get anywhere in DC quickly, the rooms were a pretty decent size and very comfy. No microwave, if you end up on the 16th floor....you can hear the restaurant above you. The bathroom was kinda small and the shower was outdated compared to the rest of the room.
Great location! Right across the street from the Metro Station and an easy wall to Georgetown. Free parking was a plus! $25 check-in charge, no fridge in room as was stated on the website, rooms a bit outdated, no breakfast
It's next to DC, great views, free WIFI, friendly staff, great room service, and really nice clean rooms, can't wait to go back!
Location, close to metro and key bridge and Rosslyn business and major highways, staff was superb across the board, parking, pool was nice tho didn't use it, restaurant on top floor with a awesome view and nice prices, overall great value esp at this time of year. there was some confusion weather or not breakfast was included in the package i got but it wasn't that expensive so not a major issue. thats about it.
Excellent customer service, everyone was really friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Tons of options in the breakfast buffet. 1 block from Whole Foods, 2 blocks from coffee shop, 3 blocks from Metro and Pentagon Mall My only area of improvement would be having cleaning staff stay on top of picking up food trays (garbage) from the hallways. I didn't enjoy walking by plates of old food. Seems like they sat out there longer than they should have.
Hallways on upper floors were vacuumed of trash for 3 days. Thermostat in my room didn't work even after 2 repair visits. Happy hour has great free drinks, but snacks were celery sticks and mustard - really! Embassy suites used to be very clean, flawless execution, and great snacks as well as great drinks. If they went back to that, they would go from good to excellent. Even with their present flaws, they are still an excellent value.
Our stay was wonderful. The room was clean and had plenty of space. The complimentary made to order breakfast and happy hour were our favorite features. All the staff was accommodating and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and appreciated. The front desk concierge approached our young son and engaged in conversation as well as gave him some m&m. He was tickled to have someone be so kind and approachable. We enjoyed the pool and hottub during our stay and found them to be extremely well maintained and clean. The levels are checked and recorded for public view which is a great reassurance. We will definitely return to this hotel upon our next visit. The parking garage never accepted our room key to open the door and we had to contact the front desk for assistance each time we entered or exited the garage.
Staff very helpful esp with disability accommodations (i.e. roll-in shower, borrowing wheel chair to get around hotel). We arrived early in the morning and not many staff were working, but the front desk attendant took the time to help cart our luggage to the room.
Very nice breakfast, managers reception nightly, location just a few blocks from a metro, Mall and Costco around the corner
Best staff ever!! very respondsive to needs- Especially LaBaron Bass- I was totally impressed with the facility!!
Excellent Stay. The breakfast and evening receptions were very nice. The complimentary shuttles to the Metro Stations and the Airport were very beneficial.
The extra room is nice. no
Very efficient shuttle service to Reagan International Airport
Service was excellant.Very convenient to metro and shopping There was a discrepency with their charges and your prices, but it was taken care of without hassle
Location was perfect for family trip to DC. Reservation was for a non-smoking king room, however I was given a two double bed room which obviously had been a smoking room (ashtrays and smell)
For such a low rate, the Embassy Suites was a great bargain. We were happy to have finally found a hotel with a hot tub, and the size of our two-room suite was wonderful. We had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy our stay. The front door opens directly into the lobby and elevator area, which leads into the lounge area. It was sub-zero during our weekend, and the cold air rushed in and made everyone cold at breakfast. That was my only complaint.
The size and cleanliness of the room and friendliness of the staff. There was no safe in the room.
I would have like it a lot more but I got bits on my lower legs So I think they had fleas or the maids didn't change the bedding and something, was in the bed, enjoying biting my legs Something biting my legs just felt like something crawling on my legs
Great location. Room was sufficiently comfortable and clean - with great pillows! Staff was friendly.
The hotel was well located to the subway, and for the USMC marathon worked very well.
location, cleannes, net access
Good secure location near metro, shopping and dining. Everything was fine.
Within a short walk of the Metro. Staff was very friendly. Comfortable room.
Great safe location, close to Metro. Large clean and comfortable rooms at a great price.
Helpful staff, quiet location, parking space. Within walking distance of a number of restaurants.
The staff were all really warm and welcoming, and the room was huge and very clean. I loved having a fridge and microwave in the room as well. Everything was comfortable, except the mattress was extremely soft. Location was excellent, and we plan to book there again next time we are in DC! Mattress!
The staff was uniformly very polite and helpful. The rooms were clean. The restaurant staff were outstanding. The food quality for dinner was okay, but not great. The heater made a lot of clicking noises when it turned off.
The hotel is nice and clean. It's less than a 10 min drive from the monuments and downtown DC without traffic. The rooms are very comfortable and we slept very well. They have onsite parking for $18/night. Only thing is breakfast is not included and cost $14.99/per person. When we checked in the lady at the reception desk couldn't find our reservation and basically told us she can't help us and to call the third party we booked with. Thank goodness a manager came and found our reservation in less than a minute. She didn't even apologize, just basically looked at us like it was our fault.
Good breakfast; more than the typical hotel one with hot food-eggs, bacon, sausage; a bit different each day. Very nice and attentive breakfast staff. Front desk was good. Pick-up service was timely. Bed was good; clean facilities. Quiet. Affiliated with adjacent comfort inn. Price the lowest around for a typical hotel. Overall, a good stay at a good price. Will return. The pillows were hard and a bit tough to adjust to one's head. Both spouse and I agreed on this. A bit noisy when showers are running elsewhere in the building. It is a motel, which might turn some folks off.
Very clean, heat wasn't working properly but they came right away to fix it.
This is not a hotel but a motel (room opens to outdoors); was looking for bedbugs but instead found cockroaches; would only stay again if nothing else available
location and shuttle service to and from airport - shuttle operators very nice and helpful front desk staff very poor - arrived at 2:15 for 3 p.m. check-in - told of short wait for first floor - did not get room until 3:15 p.m. front desk staff poor communication and helpfulness as well as un-friendliness did not get wake-up call as promised phone room number did not match room number narrow steps to get luggage to and from room will not stay at Best Western again
Room was very comfortable. Friendly staff. Nice amenities such as exercise facility, swimming pool and very nice breakfast Bathroom seemed out dated and appeared a bit dirty. Floor flooded a little when taking a shower.
breakfast was nice, location was great, near family Door locks were terrible, crayon markes on wall, just old in general, will not stay again
Beds were great and so was breakfast . Loved the shuttle to mall and airport . Had asked for safe in room 108 to be opened up ( (fixed ) It was locked when we arrived .!We followed all instructions to try and unlock it but to no avail . It never was done even a day and half later .
Everyone was very nice. Room was very clean. Shuttle to Pentagon city was awesome. I have to note here that the bed was unexpectedly comfortable!! We all loved our choice of hotel. Thank you!
The staff was very helpful!!
good location to Reagan shuttle service starts too late for early flights. Breakfast too
the morning breakfast was very good -- plenty of variety. The rooms were very clean. staff did an excellent job. shuttle to airport and to pentagon city to take transit system very convenient. While the facility is close to a highway -- the room was very quiet. Having a child with us it would have been nice for the pool to open earlier than noon. It was very hot during out stay and being able to use the pool in the morning would have been good.
Im certain our sheets were not clean, as there was hair ( not ours ) present. The door that seperates the two rooms looked as if someone threw a cup of coffee at it. There was a hankerchief with bodily fluids on it in the closet. The door on the tv stand fell off the hinges which im sure theyll charge me for woth the surprise $150 that theyre holding from me. The parking garage was full, and the complimentary shuttle does not bring you to the dc atteactions. Which made it difficult with small children.
Close to trains and Metro After checking in, I was asked to sign a form that said I could be removed from the hotel if I violated certain policies, such a son excessive noise, music, etc. No problem because I was there with my fiancée and we were tourists. For 2 nights we were kept up by the. Dry thing they asked all guests not to do (loud noise late night). After making calls to front desk to complain for two nights, nothing was done. The last night was the worst because we had to get up early to catch flights home, and we got no sleep. Why have a policy if you are not going to enforce it?
Comfortable room & bed, clean, great view of DC monuments, great value, 10 min walk to Pentagon City metro. Would prefer rm in which windows open. Like fresh air!
Area I went to sleep soon as I got there I asked for a wake-up call at 2am when I got up I noticed my leg itching and my arm so i looked around the bed blanket. Everything was dusty the radio, remote control, tables.I knew the room wasn't stayed in a while. Now the bump has gotten bigger I was bitten by a big in thebed. Th
Clean, comfortable, good service, warm cookies on arrival, great lobby, shuttle to airport. No free breakfast, which was a bummer. Parking was very expensive ($30) but I believe that's the rate for the city.
Room ckeanliness Room ac didn't work then took them 2 hours to change to other room . Room service takes ages.
The restaurants are great especially Sky Dome. It is a little on the pricey side. My bill was $224 for 6 family members, and two of nieces shared a plate. The food was great, though. The hotel is in front of the pentagon which was great. It is literally 8 minutes from the national mall and capitol hill. The staff was great. You must pay wifi and parking. The cleaning people gave us damp towels every day. The windows to view outside were dirty, so when you took a picture you could see the fingerprints.
Loved the huge rooms with mini fridge. Location was perfect, right by the airport, 10 minutes from museums. Very comfortable stay. The Skydome was incredible. Parking costs at least $30 whether you self park or valet each day. They were also demolishing the hotel next door which looked awful and was loud at times. It wouldn't have deterred me from staying there however.
Morning staff was rude beyond belief! I'm still in awe of her attitude. Brown water came out of the shower head leaving black residue on the tub floor. Sheets and pillows had little specks of dark red dots.
The beauty of it. The comfort. The excellent service. The tasteful decorations. The view. The location. I didn't love wiping the tears of my 8 year old, standing in her bathing suit, as we realized that the pool was (unnecessarily) closed... the hours are ridiculous.
Service was so so at restaurant Nice guy who was trying but he was just not trained well enough. Reaching over us and forcefully putting plates down etc..
Friendly staff. Clean, well equipped rooms. Quiet, got great sleep. Self park lot was full, had to use valet. Oh well, valet staff was very nice.
My husband and I splurged on this hotel and were surprised to have this be the worst hotel that we have ever experienced. I called the staff earlier in the day to inform them that we would be arriving late. They told me that everything would be ready for are arrival, however this was far from the truth. The staff told us that they had overbooked the hotel and that they would be moving us to a hotel down the street and they would cover $10 of expenses. The staff was not apologetic and was in fact put out by the fact they would have to help us move our stuff. By the time they got around to helping us, they made us so late that we could no longer order room service and they complained about us in front of us the entire time. In contrast, the staff at the Hilton saw that we had been moved and immediately comped our breakfast. The final straw came when Le Meridien staff tried to make us pay for having our cars parked there overnight. After much discussion, they finally covered our parking fees. DO NOT STAY HERE if you have the choice. However, I would highly recommend the Hilton that is located nearby.
View of Georgetown, DC. Bathroom was bizarre. Too much room overall, too little counterspace, mirror difficult for right handed people because of proximity to wall
Helpful, friendly staff. Clean, comfortable room. Convenient parking. Location on flight path of national airport.
The staff was friendly The AC was broken the entire time. Was given free breakfast, but had a hassle actually getting it.
Great decor, excellent staff, nice toiletries Take advantage of the $30 valet parking. The self-park is $18 and navigating the garage stairs/doors/elevators to get to the hotel desk with luggage is a hassle.
Comfortable bed and decoration the price is not includes breakfast
Nice hotel. There was no bath robe, the body wash did not lather well and the valet was a bit expensive and the valet was not explained correctly so we had to stand and wait for our car.
This place has a nice vibe, clean beds and bathrooms, full bar/restaurant in the lobby. Coffee service and newspapers are just down the hall. Valet parking was easy. Bridge to Georgetown was a block away and very lovely. The stay was worth more than what we paid for sure.
Early check-in Safe was broken. Door lock had to be reprogrammed during our stay.
Friendly staff. Places within walking distance. Staff made great suggestions. Clearly they're well trained. No breakfast & no free wifi. I've certainly stayed places for less money that have offered both.
I liked the bathroom and breakfast I got the executive suite with king size bed. The mattress was not comfortable , pillows were ok. the rug in my suite was old and the room didn't have life , I couldn't relax. You almost have to talk in whispers . You can hear people talking and walking.
The room was furnished beautifully and the location was very nice - there are a lot of places to visit around the hotel itself, and it's immediately above the Ballston metro stop so it's easy to get to the city. The front desk staff were rude and didn't listen to the simplest of requests; the two times we had to interact with them, it was apparent we were an inconvenience. We were woken up both mornings by housekeeping standing in the room connected to ours chatting away as well as in the hallway yelling to one another at 7:30am. After a very long drive to Arlington, we needed rest and certainly didn't get it. The room itself had trash from the previous guests still, and the faucet nozzles were broken, making it difficult to use the faucet itself.
Nice staff clean room. Privacy.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location was convenient & allowed me to walk to my meetings daily.
This hotel is a great value. I was suprised to find a Hilton in the price range for my weekend trip. For longer stays I would pick a Hilton or Wyndham type place but for busy weekends I typically go for a cheaper chain (super 8 even). My room was a bit out dated, but personally that doesn't bother me, I'm in DC for other things not to judge my furniture. It was clean, the staff was helpful and nice. I'm not sure why it has gotten some low reviews. Hilton Honors is free SIGN UP!!! I got free wifi ($10/night) and free parking ($17/night) for taking 2 minutes of my time after I booked. If you expect freshly renovated high end rooms, this may be a little bit of a let down to you, but if you want room on a budget this is a perfect option. The only thing I was missing in my room was a microwave, if I was staying longer than 2 nights I probably would have missed that, but I never asked I may have been able to get one. There is a laundry service however there is no onsite do it yourself laundry.
Friendly staff Hallways smelled funny.
Close to metro and public parking, and a so-so mall is nearby. Internet not included with stay, extra fee for that. What is this, 2005? Bathroom ceiling was a mess and small, not really up to 3 star status.
we stayed with our kids and it was very comfortable .The staff was also kind and helpful. no
Room was beautiful; shower was luxurious Room too dark; should NOT try to charge for WIFI-- that is basic need today; when I complained, it was compted; breakfast buffet was delicious but should be included
I love that this hotel offers a shuttle to DCA and the option to park at the hotel while traveling. We were in a room right on the street and it was very loud all night long!!
It was close to everything but quiet and spacious
I like the proximity to downtown DC as well as Pentagon City where they have plenty of restaurants Wi-fi isn't free and the $13 per 24 hrs is kinda steep.
24 dollar extra per day for parking.
Free drink and breakfast tickets due to room unavailability. Room wasn't ready at 7pm.
The view from the room! The food
Nice hotel, location is awesome as it's very close to DC Room was facing the street. If we opened our window shades, being on the first level anyone would be able to see us which can be uncomfortable and doesn't make for a nice view. The room neighboring us was obviously over the 4 person limit playing loud music, yelling and partying. It took 2 calls to the front desk and 4 hours to get them to quiet down. My husband and I were looking to relax and get some sleep instead we got an unprofessional hotel who lets teenagers party whith no regard to other guests. Never were allowed to speak with management nor were we offered anything to compensate our troubles. Nothing against the hotel itself it's a nice hotel although the rooms lack a fridge/microwave but the staff and management and security here are the real problem.
Location is convenient to Pentagon, Western DC, and good highways within a block. Price - special low rate for the 1 night Dark room, needs updating. Room had 2 double beds, was told by staff that hotel did not have a room with a queen bed which we wanted. Make sure you keep a key after checkout if you need to drive your vehicle out of the attached garage. I didn't and had to go back to the front desk (on an elevator). Check-in was a little slow.
Convenience to Reagan Airport for price
The shuttle service made this hotel very convenient.
Only that it was close to attractions. Everything. Very rude staff. Check in time was 3 but didn't have my room ready until 4:30. Horrible at customer service.
Proximity and price Worn out
Location Room cleanliness
This is an old hotel turned into a Days Inn. The sink of my room was clogged and I could not use the bathroom until they moved me to another room. Other days inn are in less central positions but the facilities are much better.
The people manning the front desk and serving breakfast were always very kind and helpful The thermostat in our room did not work properly and the appliances were all unplugged or not working when we came into the room, including the mini fridge which leaked onto the floor.
Clean facilities, friendly staff, and I'm happy that there was a recycling bin! Towels all kept disappearing, so we had to keep asking the front desk for more, and there were restrictions on that. Also, no orange juice during breakfast? I found that to be odd.
The shuttle service was a plus. Makes the trip to and from DC Downtown very manageable. The last pickup/drop-off at 8 PM however should be extended till at least 10 PM. The internet connection was terrible. The linen needs a revamp and the bathrooms are dated.
We were upgraded from a standard room just because- we didn't ask. The staff was always friendly and courteous. Convenient location. Timely shuttle service. A little worn but otherwise good. Hint to other reviewers- if you want Hilton quality, don't stay at a Day"s Inn.
This hotel needs to be demolished. Rats the size of squirrels at the lobby entrance. Mold in the rooms. Room smelled like cat urine. Pealing paint in the rooms. Serious health concerns. Nothing! Hotel was grouse and disgusting. I will be contacting the corporate office.
Price was good and location was great. The hotel was very outdated, cleanliness was fair at best, ac did not work, and the bed was completely uncomfortable. I am never going to stay there again and would not recommend anyone too stay either.
No wifi, no clean ,
In an effort to provide a fair and complete review, I’ll start with the positives. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is reasonably clean and the bed was moderately comfortable…it is about average compared to other Days Inns I have stayed in. The big problem with my stay, as indicated in the title, is that I was bitten by bed bugs. Big, itchy bites on my arm, neck and legs…10 bites total. It is difficult to prove, unequivocally, that I got the bites there, but my arm started itching right when I woke up that morning. I called the hotel multiple times before receiving a call back from the manager, who said that they had inspected the room and didn’t find any bugs… bites on my arm, neck and legs suggest otherwise. I will definitely not stay there again and will probably steer clear of any Days Inn in the future.
The shuttle service to the Metro was nice. Other than that, I have nothing positive to say. I stay at Days Inns frequently. This was a big disappointment. I asked for a 2nd story room since I'm a female with my young daughter and was quickly told "No". I've never been told "no" before so I was quite surprised, but went ahead and took the room. There was black mold on the A/C unit & the unit was missing the temperature control knob, so it couldn't be adjusted. A big spider was hanging in the closet & the closet door could not be closed. This place is very noisy. You can hear your neighbors as if they are in the room. Cigarette butts all over the sidewalk and parking lot next to the rooms. Room appeared dirty with stains on carpet and quilts. Dirty or stained wallpaper pealing off the walls. Mold in shower. Light in room did not work. Breakfast is toast, English muffin, hard boiled egg, plain donut, yogurt, apple or cereal. Nothing healthy. Juice tasted expired. I have pictures if KAYAK would like to see them. This hotel should not be an option!
We loved the friendly staff, awesome breakfast and cookies! Such a money saver for us to have such a great breakfast provided. The rooms were spacious and great for our family.
We stayed here for 3 nights. The location is great and a quick walk to the metro. Nice and clean hotel with nice staff. The price was just right.
Enjoyed the proximity to the restaurants and the Crystal City metro stop. There were lots of families staying there. That was nice. The place had a good vibe. Parking was $17, which was cheaper than at the Westin Crystal City. And internet and breakfast were included, something the Westin didn't do. I wish it was even closer to the metro. But that would make it farther from the row of restaurants on 23rd St South. Hmmm...tradeoffs. I wish it was 10 bucks cheaper. I wish there were more breakfast options. But breakfast wasn't limited or bad at all.
People who worked there were very nice. They represented the company very well. I appreciated the breakfast. It was wonderful. I appreciated my proximity to the metro. Lighting in the bathroom was terrible.
Everything was great with this hotel. The metro is 2 blocks away and Crystal City is not nearly as crowded as staying in DC and much safer. The staff setup a great breakfast every morning and the parking was reasonably priced compared to parking in DC. A stress free hotel to stay at while on vacation. Will definitely be back! no complaints
Clean, comfortable, safe No bar, no food at 5:15 a.m.
Full breakfast, clean and fairly modern room, responsive staff 8 minute walk to Metro can be bracing on a cold day (but you can do half of in Crystal City underground)
Breakfast buffet was nice. Good selection and clean eating area. We hoped for free parking but understand that is limited in the area.
We liked the waffles! the staff was friendly and accommodating. the location was close to everything we wanted to see. Housekeeping kept knocking on the door while our baby was sleeping to see if we had checked out earlier than our checkout time. Just make sure you put the do not disturb sign out!
The personel is not very friendly, they did not help much with some issues we had.
I would definitely stay here again. The close proximity to the metro can't be beat. The beds were so comfortable. The breakfast was awesome and more than expected. The shuttle was easy, quick and friendly service. All staff that we encountered were helpful. The area is close to many restaurants as well. The one negative was not having an in room safe which is usually so common in a hotel.
The rooms were clean, and there was always hot water with good water pressure when showering. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic- every day was different, but there were always hot items such as eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, etc. There was an assortment of breads, bagels, and cereals as well as a waffle maker, fruit, and oatmeal. Yogurt and juices were available every day. The Crystal City metro station was a 5 minute walk away, so that made it very convenient to hop on the blue line to all the major tourist attraction. The hotel was very quiet in the evenings- our room was very close to the elevators but we never heard anyone in the hall at night. The free airport shuttle was wonderful. We would highly suggest this hotel.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful wiht local information. The shuttle service to local shopping was very useful. The decor is aging a bit. The in-room AC was noisy.
My husband and I stayed here while visiting Washington, DC. Hotel offers a free shuttle to the metro and any of the great restaurants and bars nearby (all of which are within walking distance also). Washington, DC was 15-20 minute ride by train. The hotel was clean, had a personable staff and a great breakfast place. Highly recommend it!!
location furnishings worn, toiletries pretty low scale.
Clean, friendly, comfortable beds Nothing I didn't like
The location is excellent, close to metro station and to a shopping center. The hotel is somehow basic in the facilities it provides.
I liked the location to Clarendon shopping and the closeness to a Metro stop. I also liked the key-operated elevator for safety.
Helpful front desk staff. Vera took care of our needs and guided us during our stay. Prices were high.
Everything! Nice location and clean!
Vaery good value for price. Great location, near Metro, to explore/do business in DC.
Bed and pillows very comfortable. Air conditioning seemed to keep resetting to very warm and humid. The cards we had to use for door and elevator frequently malfunctioned. The price quoted on Kayak wasn't accurate. They charged many different rates and the average was much more than the kayak rate. Also quite expensive to park in lot but there were no other options. And when we added two days to our stay it was much higher rate on kayak and at the desk in spite of the hotel being largely empty.
the facility and room was alright the 14 dollar parking fee and the 35 dollar stupid held charge in case of accidents made me angry. I have stayed before at the holyday inn at different locations and I never for once was charged parking or had put 35 in case of anything.
