Clean and cheap Stifflingly hot
Good location Internet point without printer!
Room Cleanyless The City Noise
parking service small breakfast room
Cleanliness of the room, very nice breakfast, helpfulness of the staff
Valet-parking a great boon. Central location. Nothing
We loved the location of the hotel it was very central to the city. Breakfast was good and the staff very helpful, we would definetly stay there again if visiting Trieste.
The hotel has first of all a perfect position in the city center Sometimes the cigarette smell went through and was smelled in our room as some smokers were probably our neighbours
Good location, near city center. Good breakfast buffet. There is just a bathroom for almost 10 rooms. During our one night stay the bathroom was never cleaned and toilet paper was missing.
Helpful staff, central location, nice, old building. Lack of air con could be a problem in very hot weather
Huge room with fully equiped kitchen included. Pleasantly surprised!
Very spacious and convenient rooms. A good view on roofs of Trieste buildings. 1)The chambermaid works too seldom. She did not even take rubbish, trash. 2) Kitchens are not equipped with electrical kettle for preparing tea. It is necessary to use a pan.
It was like staying in your own appartment No
Excellent and quiet location in the center of the town, clean and spacious apartment. We booked a triple room but we got a double room with an extra bed, which was a little bit short.
The room was surprisingly big and with kitchen, so it's good for a longer stay. The bathroom was big also. The location is great! We could see the sea from our window. It was really hard to find a parking space, but after one hour going around in this little crazy town with crazy italian parking habits we found a place (we thought 20 € per day for parking offering by the hotel was too much).
Location and suite with spotless kitchen and bath. Nice old building. Major problem - the doors were locked and no one was there when I arrived! I had called in advance to make sure that reception would be open for my 10:30 pm train arrival in Trieste and they said that they would have someone to greet me despite the fact that the reception hours ended at 9pm. I was only saved by the simultaneous arrival of another guest who let me in - but there was no note and no key and no one arrived in reception. If not for ingenuity, I would have had to sleep in the reception area. Also a little run down - rugs, curtains and bedspreads.
Clean and well located.
Clear, familiar, good traffic, friendly There is the hotel near noisy street. We like when open the windows, but we didn't know sleep.
Situated in the centre of town and really only 2-3 minutes from the main shopping area and the Grand Canal; very close (walking in 7 minutes) from bus and train station.Nice clean room with enough space for more than the three of us. Bathroom good and clean. Staff very helpful with details of local situations.Breakfast (continental type) ample and fresh; again very friendly staff. Good coffee. great for short term stay; for longer staying guests I would recommend a few more chairs in the room; there was space enough but furniture was a bit stark.
Spacious room. Good breakfast. It is very well located and easy to find. Full of mosquitos! Interior room, we were missing fresh air although there is airco.
It's pretty central. Staff does not speak much English. On their website they said there is wireless internet, but this turned out not to be true. Very noisy when your windows overlook the street.
What a bright and spacious room! The shared bathrooms were clean with awesome showers. We appreciated the free half hour of internet as well. The staff was a cranky bunch. A smile does not hurt on occasion... Additionally, the light in the bath goes off when it does not sense movement. This meant continually opening the shower door throughout the shower. A little annoying.
Good breakfast and very good location in the centre of triest. Airconditing was very comforting the entrance of the building is dark and unsettling. some of the staff members could be a bit unfriendly
Good location and good for what we needed. Very friendly. The bathroom facilities - the shower was small and water not warm
Its central location was quite good. Breakfast was fine.
Room very comfortable, large and quiet beautifully designed splendid brekfast in such luxurious hotel internet in rooms should be free of charge
Excellent location, polite, obliging staff, extremely comfortable/well designed rooms, very pleasant breakfast.
One of the best hotels we ever experienced.Great position, amaizing design, quiet and relaxing.
The bedroom was soundproof, and the bed was very comfortable. The buffet breakfast gave a varied choice for everyone.
It was a very stylish, well positioned hotel with good size rooms, especially the ones with balconies overlooking the sea. The hotel was a good mix of old and new with the recent renovation retaining the important elements of the old worlde hotel whilst introducing all modern amenities and comforts.
Very helpful staff. The weather.
Excellent location beside main square in Trieste. Very pleasant and helpful staff, especially on reception.
Beautiful hotel in a great location. Well-appointed with a wonderful balcony and view. The heating system was broken and the staff unable to fix it. It was freezing in both areas of the suite and extremely uncomfortable.
Beautiful rooms overlooking the water. Perfect way to relax in comfort for a few days of luxury. I can honestly say that I couldn't find any faults.
Excelent location, great rooms, recently renoved, nice furniture. All new. Near the sea Poor breakfast, very expansive wireless.
Everything! Fantastic room, good service, great location. One of my favourite hotels I have ever stayed in. I didn't like the exorbitant charge for wireless internet.
Location was very good - in the centre of town and near the port. No ham and cheese to go with the bread rolls for breakfast in the morning. Only a small point as I thought it was de rigeur to have this in hotels on the Med. Actually the breakfast included tea, coffee, 3 different cereals, fruit and yoghurt so this isn't really a serious comment.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was located very centrally, close to shopping and the water. The band width connection was very low so internet connection was slow and spotty. The hotel was located in front of the bus stop which was both a blessing and a curse. At 5:30 am the buses would come and are very noisy.
in the center poor breakfast
The staff was helpfull and the room was clean and bright.
Having stayed at the Filoxenia before we knew roughly what to expect. However, we found it much improved to our previous visit. Staff were very friendly and helpful from front desk to cleaners. Being partially disabled this hotel is idealy placed for both sight-seeing and central for shopping all within walking distance.
We like the location....very close to the train station, the boat taxi, the waterfront, restaurants and visiting sites. The room was rather plain, but the mattresses were very comfortable. We wished that the breakfast period could have been extended a little later. It was a bit of a challenge while on vacation to make it down by 9:00 so as to be finished by 9:30.
Clean and big family room. Nice staff. Breakfast was good.
Good central position, enjoyed the hotel restaurant with its Greek flavour Car parking is a great problem - spent 1 hour one day searching for a place to leave the car.
near to center bad sound insulation between the rooms
We found its location superb, on a quiet street in the heart of Trieste's old city, and literally two minutes' walk from Trieste's public squares (e.g. Piazza dell'Unita Italia), elegant waterfront, and its lovely pedestrian malls, lined with attractive bars and restaurants. Our room's decor was simple, but it was very tastefully appointed. Much attention was paid to details (e.g. a nice stool in the bathroom, a safe in our room,...). Excellent quality at a reasonable price. We were very pleased with our choice of hotels for our first visit to Trieste. The air conditioning might have been a little on the cool side, but it was very efficient and enabled us to sleep really well, in spite of the sweltering heat.
If you are staying in Trieste…this is the only place to stay. It’s a beautiful hotel in the famous Piazza Unita. The staff are extremely helpful, the pool/sauna/steam room and spa treatment is an added bonus. Breakfast has everything, including a glass of Prosecco if it takes your fancy. We will definitely stay there again sometime…
The helpful and friendly hotel staff There was no drawer space in room 302
Breakfast was exelant, stuff very friendly and pleasant N/a
Excellent location; good breakfasts
Location is perfect, the rooms are very comfortable and relatively big. The breakfast could be better!
Wonderful location, cleanliness or room, helpful reception staff. Breakfast service could be improved but was fine.
Location, location, location Staff are polite but lacks the snappiness you need for a luxury hotel
The location, the atmosphere and the swimming pool. Breakfast staff could have been more friendly and helpful. They should have explained their system which differed to other hotels I have stayed in.
An excellent location, ambience and services. Waiters at the Hary´s bar/restaurant does not carry away useless and used pottery when having your meal. The starter pottery was on the table when we were having our pudding (for dinner). You You ve to use the hotel driver for parking despite you does not trust enybody driving your car. The hotels usualy permit it.
Location, luxury, breakfast, restaurant........ Nothing!!!!
The hotel owners , Marina and Marco are very sweet and kind people, they made us feel at home in their charming small hotel, breacfast was exellent, very rich in offer, rooms are nice and clean, heating is good, we woul very much like to stay in this hotel again
Excellent staff, very friendly and ready to help. Very positive atmosphere, clean and spacious rooms. Great parking and high speed wireless internet - both free. Decent breakfast in a very pleasant atmosphere. The hotel is away from the center of Trieste about 4 km, but the city bus station is in front of the hotel. Quiet location. Excellent value for money! nothing
The owners were fantastic...service could not have been beter. Rooms and bathrooms...clean, modern and spacious. Recommend highly. Hard to find...Banne is not well marked...
Nice quiet area, perfect for travellers in transit, large comfortable room, very friendly and smiling staff, excellent pastries for breakfast (and I'm not a pastry person either, but they were delicious) This is not really a negative - but you need a car and GPS to get here.
This place is great because of its hosts: Marina who takes care about all the things You need in excellent way, and her husband - Marco, who helps her as he can. Rooms are very clean and causy. Locked free parking place. Wi-fi works. Location very good if You own a car. Breakfast absolutely OK with espresso or capuccino or what You may wish.We can truly recommend this Albergo. Closing or locking the door is a bit loud.
hotel staff, cleanliness, quiet, parking, near big roads..
Nice village (with party included), comfortable room, excellent staff and an amazing breakfast.
friendly host, value for money (esp. we got a car & accomodation at downtown cost extra for parking). remote location at uphill (if we didn't get a GPS, we couldn't locate it at night).
You could not ask for a warmer staff; Marina and Marco go out of their way to provide for your every need. Whether it was activities or restaurant reservations, they were there to help out. Excellent experience.
Charming B & B place conveniently located outside the Trieste. It is a short distance drive to the city and also, there is bus right outside the hotel that go into the city. Easy to go onto freeway to visit neighboring towns.
It was nicely decorated and after an AC in the room didn't work the staff swiftly arranged another room and allowed us to leave our luggage in the original room too. Generally service was very good. It was difficult to find due to no signage at street level. I felt it was a little out of the central historic area that it had been described as being in.
Interior design yes, should place more drinking water in the rooms
Beautiful rooms, very elegant bathroom, breakfast good enough for italian standards, central location, nice staff The size of our room was surprisingly small, entrance of the hotel at night was locked and it was difficult to get in as there is no bell
extremely clean, beautifuly designed modern interior with a well maintained mid 19th century building.Close to all amenieties
I liked the hotel room bed very confortable, very high standard of cleaniness. Good location and excellent staff who really look after your stay. the shower/bath was leaking water in the floor.
Beautiful design. Very nice spa area.
The staff were very nice; the hotel is in a good location; the room is big, clean and quiet.
It is a beautiful city for walking, shopping, adventure and checking the restaurants had a great time .
Bit too far to walk home from a day out shopping or beside the Quay and rather far after dark to find Restaurants etc. Needed taxi when returning from Expeditions and for Evening jaunts to Restaurants.
the location was wonderful and the staff very nice.
it was few minuts walk from heart of trieste, beside metro and bus station
i liked that it was easy walk from train station, especially after our long travels.. Internet seemed complicated. It has been nice to stay at hotels with internet included.
Near the station but not a horrible, overpriced 'near the station' hotel. Room and bathroom were nice. And Trieste is beautiful.
Attitude of some of reception staff Access to rooms from lift. Breakfast facilities
Clean large rooms
very helpful reception staff not really; maybe an English speaking tv channel, usually CNN or BBC World is available in most bedroom tv channels but otherwise we found it a very pleasant hotel to stay at.
the position, is near to train station. dosen't have internet free.
we stayed in appartment across the road from the hotel. It was very clean. Room was cleaned every day. beds and pillows were a little hard
ideal location near station and city centre clean comfortable rooms good breakfast helpful friendly staff the apartment was well equipped if you did not want to dine out,
Friendly staff. Excellent location. Good breakfast included.
breakfastroom room had small window on a small courtyard and was therefore dark. I like rooms with a view.
Excellent location in center of town, but still quiet. Double paned windows block out virtually any street noise. Very courteous staff. Only that on booking.com it said that pets were free, then when they sent the confirmation email they said that pets were 10 euro. When I told them about booking.com info they apologized and did not charge me. Nevertheless kind of weird for such an expensive hotel.
Excellent location and service! No.
The rooms lacked comfortable chairs
Central location in Trieste Prepare the rooms for guests!! Too slow garage service for the price!! Arrogant check-in staff!! Latest checkout at 10 am???
The room and locality were good. But nothing out of the ordinary for the price. I was actually expecting something rather more luxurious or flamboyant for the price. Given its star rating I was surprised to find no internet, no obvious condusive lounge or public social space - did I miss it somewhere - and no included breakfast (which I knew when I booked). I was told where there was internet in Trieste but could not find it. OK for business but lacked a bit for tourist.
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, perfect location in the center of Trieste, decent breakfast buffet the free wireless internet connection was very slow
location no tea coffee facilities in room
The location is right in the centre of Trieste! So basically you just walk out onto the high street of Trieste. The Wifi was not very stable. Breakfast could've had more choices
Temperature in the room was exelent. Room and bed were clean. I think with little more effort breakfast could be better. Nothing salty. No ham, cheese etc.
Very cute room! Excellent location Nop
Having BBC world. That was a pleasant surprise. Room comfortable No one could direct me to the Anglican Church on the Sunday
the room is big the breakfast is poor, the furniture of the rooms is cheap and unworthy for a 3 stars hotel, we had poor light in the room and in the morning everywhere was food smell and in the afternoon was cigarette smell (even if me and my boyfriend we do not smoke)
Big rooms, nice bathroom, central to town. Parking could have been a problem but we got very lucky. breakfast was ok, but fairly expected for Italy.
Only here for one night but ideally located for the railway station with a short walk to the historic centre. A warm welcome, the grandeur may be slightly faded but the class was still evident.
Cute old hotel, room very quiet, pretty large, the air conditioner worked well enough, it was close to the places we wanted to visit, and the valet parking was efficient (although not cheap), staff very friendly and helpful. 1. Listing said "mini bar". We wanted the refrigerator. The room we got didn't have one, so they switched us to one which did--but it had no window. We were under th roof with a small skylight for light. And the minibar refrig didn't work very well. 2. No fresh fruit at continental breakfast.
Great hotel at which I've stayed several times. Able to cope with me arriving at 01:00 in the morning. Friendly helpful staff.
Easily accessable & near the station Could Improve the Bar Service
Been there before, I like the place, it is an old fashioned hotel, I feel at home there. The location near the railway station and only ten minutes walk from the center is ideal for me.
Good sized room, very clean, good staff, and excellent location with ample secure parking.
The helpful staff.......very pleasant and informed Hotel in general was a "little tired" and could use some modernizing.
The hotel wasn't as bad as the references said. We were lucky because we got one of the best rooms with the view to the sea and a balcony. The room was bug and nice, the equipment a little old though. Breakfast was way to simple for a 5* hotel, but still okay. We came by car so it was easy to get to the city. It took us maybe 5 minutes to drive to the downtown. Personnel didn't really speak English but still they were friendly with us.
We didn't like anything there! This hotel is advertised as a 5-start hotel and it is definitely not. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. The breakfast is definitely not filling - who would want to eat only sweet bread in the morning? There was no variety - no eggs, no hams, no fresh fruits, etc. Oh, there was also a construction going on at the back of the hotel! So, you can probably imagine how difficult to get parking area there because the hotel did not reserve any street parking! We actually want our money back!
Nonce that the hotel doesn't have an own beach place and it can be called 5 star hotel. It is terrible to find a parking place around the hotel. The inner look of the hotel is terrible, without carpets on the floor, and chep cover paperwall on the doors.
friendly staff no broadband in rooms
Hopsitality was outstanding No
It is not fair to describe it as 5 mins from central Triest -more like 15mins on a good day by car. The pool had been closed for some time but was a major reason why we took the hotel. They should have told us before we arrived and the price reduced.
shopping, sideseeing, vo ac running, very loud location
Nice terrace with sea view for having breakfast. Public parking available is an exageration, you can hardly find a place near the hotel, I had to go 400 m down the road and park in the public parking by the marina. Room was not so clean, bathroom particularly, lots of signs of previous inhabitants. Construction work going on in the yard, lots of noise! The hotel is not on the sea side of the road, so don't be fooled, the sea can be seen maybe from the last floor but that's it.
Hotel location was great for the old town (restaurants and bars) and close to the sea front (although numerous steps neede to be negotiated!), esp TriestLines Ferry to SLO/HR (15 minutes walk. Quiet and comfy. Not suitable for motorised travellers (but this aspect could be part of the attraction!). Air conditioner available but too loud for night-time use.
Central location and a good value for the money. Slept three easily so it was good for two adults with one child.
Enjoyed Piazza Unita d'Itlia,,tram, Coffee Houses, Museums, Grotta Gigante, a lot to do and enjoy,
Convenient location for town and also for transport.Good breakfast.Would stay again. Whilst it was no problem for us, people who had walking problems miht have difficulty with stairs as it has no lift.
Hotel staff extremely kind and at your disposal for any kind of assistance. Couldn't ask for a better position, kind of isolated and therefore quiet, but still in the very center of the city. Clean.
Just in the center, silent, nice, comfortable. Impossible to find parking place.
good facilities, small, very friendly and well positioned to access the services of the city. Friendly and helpful staff.
friendly and helpfull staff No gym facilities and breakfast room/menu was weak.
The rooms were very small
Liked the design of the room with French bed & sea view balcony
The location was walking distance to the castle and you could take a bus downtown to avoid the driving hassle. Parking was free and view of the sea from our balcony/room was awesome.
Very nice design hotel on the seaside. Excellent breakfast.
location style comfort no-nonsense one small thing: beds rather hard (no box spring or any spring for that matter...)
Very close to the sea, 5 min from Trieste center. Well equipped hotel, good breakfasts.. Need to pay attention to find it especially during the night.
Sea view room. N/A
Great value for money. Sea views. Helpful staff. Free parking. Bus 100yds away into Trieste (5kms) every 15 mins. No
Wonderful location. Not a large hotel only 32 rooms - all of which had a view of the seaside. Modern hotel, open airy rooms with balcony. Viewed Mirimare Castle from our balcony. Plenty of restaurants near the hotel - public transport good - bus into Trieste runs every 12 minutes which was great as we did not have a car. Tickets available at hotel reception. Hotel backed onto reserve/parkland. Staff were friendly and helpful. We needed rest time after a hectic few weeks of touring Italy and that's exactly what we got. Highly recommended and would go back again.
Nice room, ancient breakfast space No
clean and efficient ther was a slight smell of smoke in my room.
The building, the decor & the room itself were all attractive. We even had a balcony overlooking an attractive, yet busy, square. It was handy to buses, trams & trains & the impressive central city piazza was within easy walking distance.
I liked the room and the variety of food for breakfast. It was not a good idea to open a window because of traffic noise. This was not a real problem when the air conditioning was on.
The room was very good and so was the breakfast. Location is good. The is no proper parking arrangment
the hotel is close to city centre, to the bus and train station, good service and facilities the hotel is located close to main road and it was very noisy
Excellent location near railway station and bus stops, nice service, nice atmosphere, clean room, silence.
Nothings Staff and food
Buffet breakfast - friendly staff - easy location - quiet room
Great location and friendly staff; small but nicely fitted rooms, very good breakfast; great value for the money; will stay here again; cleanest sheets/towels of all time.
Tasteful, comfortable, spacious
The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are large and comfortable, the location is excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Trieste.
The rooms are large and very well furnished. Also they are spotlessly clean.
Very tastefully decorated rooms
very nice location, big, comfortable rooms, friendly staff lack of elevator, lack of parking, poor breakfast
good location, excellent garage space since it is city center, very helpful staff, clean rooms too small shower space
liked everything, bonus of having a little kitchen
Vicinity to all points of interest excellent. All stafff at reception extremely helpful, and patient with my Italian language (Mrs. Joanna Guthrie!). Heating of appartment - super. Dishwasher a requirement in this modern age.
The Residence Le Terrazze is around the corner from one of the main squares in Trieste with easy access to the rest of the City and surrounding areas. The rooms are very large and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Loved the room, but would ask for one facing the street rather than the central courtyard next time.
The Residence is calm, the staff are very kind and cooperative, the garage is very practical. There was nothing we didn't like.
My accommodation was on 8th floor with a large terrace and fantastic view over Trieste.Every thing was either new or near new and very comfortable.Staff members were very helpful and professional. I found the fact that there was no staff member on the premises after 8.30 pm.a concern . If assistance was needed ,or in an emergency, guests would have to fend for themselves. Information about this should be clear in the Booking .com advertising.
the space was generous, the bathroom ok but shower was very small, no window and was a problem with the heating in the bathroom. Nice view from the terrace. No breakfast ensured and I was not aware about that, poor consierge - it is not a 4 star hotel is just an apartment hotel. No parking it is really a problem if you go by car.
bedding, cleaning, breakfast wireless internet acess, internet on tv
