Excellent staff, very helpful and pleasant at all times. Great position near to town and parking easy and cheap. very comfortable rooms. Nothing
An up scale hotel of comfort and fine location. A hotel of period architecture beautifully restored Front rooms with full water views unfortunately overlook the busy street and parking area. Opt for a room with a lateral view of the sea.
It is very well located on the island of Ortigia. It is not as luxurious looking as either the pictures or the price indicate. I also had requested a reservation at a restaurant early in the day and was informed at 8:45 in the evening that they could not take us.
Highly recommended. Everything was 1st class, from the Restaurant to the Room, from the Staff to the facilities. There has been a misunderstanding about my room, which was dealt with professionalism and the problem sorted out quickly and in the way I expected in a place like this.
Friendly personel and nice rooms Poor breakfast
Hotel was very charming. Hotel staff were excellent and very helpful. The food in the restaurant was also excellent. The breakfast was very good and there was also an additional menu available on request. They have one room with a sun terrace and Jacuzzi which is a real treat. Very enjoyable stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it. Absolutely nothing
decor fabulous; situation convenient for centre of Ortigia; staff very helpful; breakfast very good no
we loved Ortigia
The place was relaxed and comfortable Costume jewellery went missing when luggage was transferred to another room.
Friendly staff. Attractive, well located hotel.
Location Nothing like a 5 star hotel at best an average 4 star
friendly staff and spoke good English which i expect from a 5star. i was dissappointed that when i requested a room with a bath and told it might be possible that it never happened and nobody spoke to me about it again.i also hoped after expressing dissappointment with the lift out of use that it might be possible to move to another part of the hotel where lift worked. i had a small child aged 3 and i felt we were not fully understood and having to take a service lift was no fun.overall it was a good experience. we hope to visit scilly next october again.
location of hotel is excellent.Staff very helpful and frienly.Lounge bar could do with upgrade, very stuffy. Rooftop bar. Only had one drink. No buzz or atmosphere.
Excellent 5 star hotel - one of the best hotels of our Sicily trip. Junior suites are spacious and finished to a very high standard. Cleaning comes twice a day and small details/gestures (fresh cakes and fruits in the room, ...) make this hotel a true gem. Breakfast is very good with something for everyone (not just the sweets that make up a local breakfast) and it is served on a gorgeous rooftop resaturant/terrace. As a city, Siracusa is very pleasant and worth a long stay. I found it more interesting and less crowded than Taormina and also more affordable.
Excellent location and quiet - the first hotel in Sicily to achieve this. Plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants nearby. Bit of a trek to breakfast from our room but well worth it - both for the buffet and the outstanding views while enjoying it.
The beautiful view over the bay Very late service by chambermaid to make-up the room
outstanding location on the sea and view. Rooftop restaurant. Spa. no parking and using the street is almost impossible. The Hotel is immense and was very empty and dull; personnel was demotivated (end of season); building needs anyhow renovation. The room was about OK, but the bathroom was far below standards (no tub, old fashioned, leaks everywhere,etc...). However, low season rate is, in globo, competitive. In summary:nicely decadent.
lose to centre , fantastic view ,
Great location. The island is great! The parking is terrible. There is no shuttle as indicated. It is at least a mile walk. Once you find the parking lot there are spaces that are for handicapped but are very poorly marked. Unfortunatdly we parked in one of them and received a parking ticket. Including this cost and the hotel cost made the cost of the hotel very expensive. The procing at this hotel is a bit of a bait and switch. At check in the staff tries to talk the traveller into an upgrade. And for good reason. The standard room is more like a jail cell than a hotel room. So we upgraded for 20 more euros. Alse the elevators are scarey. Very noisy and unstable. My wife used the stairs instead.
The central location in the old town The balcony with seaview
Location is great - you turn the corner uphill and beautiful piazza and great dining options are steps away. This hotel isn't deserving of it's five star status. Yes, it has great bones and it has a wonderful location but it needs updating - while renovations can be costly - takes basic maintenance and pride for 5 stars to have clean walls in the room and Clorox for the mildew in the bathroom. Staff was nice but poorly trained.
New hotel, close to some of main tourist attractions in Syracuse. Offers free parking and nice solarium / pool. Very nice staff with good breakfast. Room decoration and comfort excellent. Best hotel I’ve stayed in. none
International feel, free parking, swimming pool, contemporary style, great for access to archaeological park Minor gripe- we had to phone down to reception each time we wanted the air conditioning in our room switched on. This request was never denied but it could haver been better explained at the start
Location is excellent and the staff were very helpful.Comfortable attractive room and very good breakfast
I liked the room. The stuffs were helpful. The dinner buffet was excellent.
Very good for business, not as a holiday hotel Too far from the old city centre
Excellent facilities in this very comfortable hotel situated close to some of the historical sites in Siracusa. It is not conveniently located to explore Ortigia - 30 minute walk!
Brand new so everything is still very clean and new. no
Just few minutes from the city center. clean and comfort. feels like business hotel. hotel is new and modern. breakfast cost 10 euros for person.
the modern look of the hotel
Staff helpful and efficient. A hotel fully up to international standards for groups and individual travellers. Location is not ideal for 'seeing' Syracuse old town, and some distance from downtown restaurants unless visitor wants to rely on taxis. For that reason is better for mature travellers than families.
Very pleasant and helpful staff Limited sports channels on tv
It was not crowded and it is situated in a very quiet area but it is far from Siracusa centre. I did not have time to expierience this hotel very much because i stayed only 1 night.
the room was clean, the staff very kind... breakfast was very poor...
quite, confort, excellent design far from center of the town
Perfect gym facilities. Perfect breakfast. Distance to the center.
Unique hotel, friendly staff Hotel was difficult to find the first time
I must say the decor was quite nice, and Hotel facilities are Satisfying. The Location, it's Surroundings. Very Poor Breakfast not even Fresh Orange Juice was available only Juice diluted with Water, not to mention that no Toasted bread or Brown Or Rye Bread was available. What should be Scrambled Eggs(the only thing that was available warm) were sitting in a bed of Oil besides the fact that they were Dry as they were sitting in the Serving Pot for so Long, My recommendation is to have Boiled Eggs with their skin on, these would serve the purpose much better. The Hotel Management asks you not to use so much water and towels, but then the Hotel Management has not put an extra door in the shower! So when you shower the room is all in Water!!!
breakfast good, staff very helpful Constant annoying music in all public places; atmosphere was "dark" everywhere - like living in a disco during the daytime; no massage facilites available when requested; limited evening meal menu and very few staff available at any time. Took a long time to serve us dinner. Bathroom very poorly designed - shower floods the toilet area, bad smell, air con not easily controlled.
The hotel was lean and very modern....but even better was the staff!!! They were always there to help! nothing
Breakfest was oo simple, taking to account the price of the hotel. Rooms were also too simple and offputting. And we heard all the noises from Reception area to our room.
Like many others have said, the hotel is deceptive. The outside looks like any other building, but inside is great. The hotel gives a good breakfast, has convenient parking, is conveniently located, and has nice rooms.
It is very central, quiet but most importantly I was impressed with the help, courtesy and friendliness of the staff. One could not really expect more from a three-star hotel. Incidentally there were no reviews available from other guests.
The professionalism of the manager. He was brilliant withheld, services and kindness.
good location, very close to the train station, very friendly staff. The bathroom is not really appealing with all the molds on the ceiling, the room I was in, the fan in the bathroom doesn't work, which is probably why it has molds all over the ceiling...however, the toilets, the water basin and the shower facilities are all very clean.
Very convenient for bus and train station Staff helpful and room quite nice. Not the best area in Siracusa but I only stayed one night.
It was across the road from the railway station which was perfect for us. The room was very large and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. We could park at the front door and walk everywhere. There was not lift to the upper floors.
Large room. Not located in a particularly nice area of town and long walk to the old town. Few facilities on offer and hotel does not quite live up to the hotel website's pics.
Just one step to train or bus. Very friendly staff.
Convenient location. Pleasant staff. Easy to find. Noisy main road because it is cobbled.
Hotel Posta has the basic facilities, nearby there is a parking where you can park free during the day and for eur1 during the night and it has good breakfast The rooms in the hotel were clean but needs some refurbishment.
Excellent location for accessing transport and exploring Ortigia. Friendly staff. Good breakfast.
Has a luxury feel. Impressive breakfast from American point of view. Room small but nice. The right price. Mattress could be higher quality. More internet workstations.
Really helpful staff with transport queries, and where to go. We had a small leak in the bathroom but they soon sorted it out. Breakfasts were lovely with good coffees. Would love to go back, really good location.
Calm atmosphere and convenient for Siracusa
The position was excellent in th heart of the old town and close to the marina. The breakfast whilst continental was very limited and staff had to be sought when items needed to be replenished.
Friendly staff and location. Good car accesssibility
The location was outstanding; just a short walk from the public garage and two blocks from a great morning market.
Liked the location on the island, easy to drive to, excellent parking nearby, friendly staff, nice breakfast Lukewarm coffee at breakfast
nice hotel, good location, we only missed fresh tomatoes for breakfast no complaints
Proximity to town centre
Great Breakfast. Nice Pool. Seaview from our room. Internet didn't work, no wifi anyway. Breakfast service not very attentive. Our room was not very clean (especially in the corners or under the bed.) Some tasteless modern elements in the beautiful architecture. This is a middle-class hotel in the building of an old luxury hotel.
Many previous reviews commented on the location of the hotel as being far from the town; this was not so. A cycle hire scheme (rather like that one newly installed in London) was close by and three buses were immediately available to take you to the station or the main town. The main museum was close at hand. No town based hotel could possibly have had such a wonderful location with a large well organised pool area which was never crowded. The rooms were cool and clean and the food was wonderful (and not overly expensive). The staff were friendly and attentive and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in at a very reasonable price.
Attention to details like flowers in common areas Clashing styles of decor
the pool is lovely and the grounds stunning- lots of pretty shady corners to relax quietly, with flowers, trees and views of the gorge. A comfortable hotel with helpful staff. easy parking in hotles own car park. Quiet at night. Convenient for Archaeological park. It is quite a long walk to Ortigia, especiallly on the way home when you are tired from sightseeing, although we did do it- say 20 mins. Expensive bar.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good parking and close to sightseeing and the sea.
for the price we felt that the size and facilities in the room were poor. On the first night it appeared that the staff were overstretched by a wedding reception and the meal was disappointing.
Lovely room and pool We had trouble finding the hotel. They need a better map on their web site.
Convenient for touring the city, everything within walking distance
Excellent location, seaview, near the centre, clean room and bathroom, polite staff, value for money.
We stayed for just one night. Location is in front of sea and close to some fine restaurants and bars.
The room was compact but split in 2 levels with a little stairs and I liked the idea a lot. The hotel is in front of the sea, close to the city centre. They squeezed oranges on order at breakfast and I never have that fresh breakfast at any hotels!!! To get to the hotel by car might be a bit difficult (many one ways, narrow streets). Highly recommended to use a car navigation.
Big well-maintained room and bathroom; hotel modern and generally clean; great sea view from balcony; good quiet location near all sights in Ortigia. Level of support/friendliness from staff was adequate in general but not as good as I would expect when paying this price.
This is a very charming hotel with a superbe sea view! It was apleasure waking up in the morning, open my windows and stand steal just looking the sun shinning on the sea. Priceless! Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great! Sometimes there is a bad smell coming out from the pipes in the bathroom, but this is not only for this hotel, the hotel city is like that. Just close the door and the problem is solved. A tip to who is going in this city - avoid renting cars because parking places are difficult to find (or very expenive)
the location and internal decoration and design of the hotel were superb. All the staff were friendly and very helpful.
Beautiful Location and Delightful Staff Really no fault to pick but if I search for something the hotel could have better towels though they were of course very well laundered.
Beautiful views - great location. Very helpful receptionist and waitress. Pity no bar as weather not great and we would have liked somewhere to relax before going out for dinner. Breakfast could have been more imaginative. Parking can be a bit of a lottery.
Location of room with sea view and helpfulness of staff Parking a bit limited, but staff were very helpful about this
I was pleasantly surprised at the difference between the modest outside appearance and the comfortably modern inside. I recommend this hotel and the very cheerful staff to all visitors who seek a Sicilian holiday.
Amazing location. Beautiful views and rooms. Nice balcony overlooking the sea. Breakfast was stand out great. Overall really great. .. just poor blinds that let light stream into the room, which woke us up at sunrise
Roomy, clean, comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Reception helpful and nice. buses are not that often to and from hotel during the weekend. Thinking of a car might be a good idea if you are travelling with elderly people.
Central location Not enough facilities
Polite and efficient staff who were helpful but not intrusive
Excellent location, excellent communication from a lady called annarita which made us choose this hotel, the room was fresh and clean and very quiet. Minor things like the tv remote was broken, the shower went from hot to cold and we were unable to regulate the temperature, one of the female staff members could have been a little more friendly and smiled more, there were no bread rolls left when we came down for breakfast.
very good breakfast. Rooms did not smell of smoke. Kettle in our room for hot drinks No iron to press our clothes. The 6 o'clock deadline. We were going to be late and rang the hotel to tell reception but the person on reception could not understand that that we had a reservation and would be late. She thought we were trying to book and kept telling us the hotel was full.
Front desk person was very nice. She had excellent customer service skills and was extremely helpful. The room's cleanliness was overall good. Air conditioning unit working and new. As promised, we were given a no smoking room and the room really did not smell like cigarrettes. The bed matress was old and zaggy, we requested a full bed or equivalent and were given two twin beds push together, we were trying not to fall in the junction of the two matresses. The window opened to an empty lot full of rubbish. They had some sort of remodeling-construction going on and the workers started banging on the walls with power tools at 08:00 am on a Saturday morning.
Very helpful Staff, central location of the hotel. I felt at home.
Hotel was adequate and at a reasonable price. The room was behind reception on ground floor level. Not much privacy as door was adjacent to breakfast room entry. The worst thing though was that one wall had a locked of entry to the elevator and was therfore very noisy both from a people talking and machinery moving. An adjacent cupboard also contained a centralized water heater and waste pipes that were also noisy.
The location and the staff were good car parking was a little tight
Breakfast & the closeness to old town...walking distance Had to argue with them about using our credit card to pay for the room.
Clean rooms. Breakfast was OK. Free parking in the street next to the hotel. Only a short drive from the lovely old center of Siracusa where there is a big cheap parking garage. The hotel is located in one floor of a tall building. Not much atmosphere but professional. Ask for a room which is not next to the busy road, otherwise you hear the traffic.
Staff and family ownership very nice and helpful. Confortable and very clean. Brand new. Excellent!
We were not enchanted by the area of the hotel and it's entrance from the street, but we changed our opinion very quickly after seeing the hotel from inside. The entire hotel area - reception, rooms, restaurant were vely clean and nicely furnished, with all facilities. The personel was very friendly and helpful and gave us good tips about the city. We also appreciated the location after visiting the city - it is very close to Ortigia and to the archaeological park and at the same time in a very calm area.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpfull, their was a nice laid back atmosphere.
The location was perfect. We parked the car when we arrived and walked everywhere. Hotel staff helped us get tickets to a performance at the Greek theater.
Conveniently situated not far from the old town and very close to archeological sites. You can park your car across the street for no charge. Free wireless internet in the rooms. International TV channels.
Very helpful staff at reception Breakfast could be a lot better. Hotel hard to find because no frontage on street.
The room was clean and functional. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is slightly away from the town centre.
It is located in central place, the service was excellent, it is a place that we always want to come again.
Close to all the museums. Street parking available. Very nice rooms clean and quiet. Laura at the front desk put together a map of the sites including restaurants. A wonderful stay in the city.
Relatively close to Ortygia. Internet service was not available as advertised; we had to wait till 9 am till we coul have breakfast as dining area too small.
Traditional design o hotel. Good breakfast. Very convenient for train and bus station. No light as room looked into narrow street. Also, mosquitoes, perhaps due to the area.
Nicely decorated room. There was no elevator, so we had to climb two stories with the luggage. In addition to that the staircase is very narrow. Breakfast could be richer.
Close to station
Perfect location between Ortigia, the archeological sites and the bus and train stations, you can reach everything on foot.Elegant, newly refurbished building, decorated with excellent taste. Very good quality buffet breakfast.A family managed hotel, very professional people who open their...home and make you feel like a friend or even family. I'll never forget their hospitality!
This is an excellent family run hotel. It has been designed with flair and an eye for detail in the best Italian style, a blend of past and present. There are even good books tastefully lying around for guests to enjoy during their moments of repose.
Well located, nice staff.
Newly refurbished and very stylish. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfasts. Many room are on the main ,very busy street so guests need to specify a quieter location. We were able to change the room allocated to us at the outset. Internal facing rooms on the other hand, do not have a pleasant outlook. Also, some of the refurbishment means that bedroom tables are in leather and the instructions about keeping these in pristine condition are a bit unrealistic.
The staff were extremely polite, kind and helpful. They made us feel very much at home, as if we were regulars! The Hotel itself is lovely and its location is perfect.
The hotel managers and staff were very warm and friendly, something we didn't get much from some of our other 4 star hotels we stayed in that week. Very personable and caring, made us feel great! I didn't really like the bathtub in our suite. No shower curtain or rod. Kind of hard for a girl with long hair to wash it while holding the shower nozzle up as not to flood the floor of the bathroom while rinsing out the shampoo.
a perfect location in Siracusa to the Island of Ortigia as well as archeological sites. Parking is possible in the area and turned out to be safe and convenient. The hosts were dilightful and helped us with all local arrangements to the best of their ability We did not find anything unpleasant or disturbing.
The hotel was very welcoming - mid to high scale design, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was the best we had during our two week trip to Italy. The location is very convenient to seeing city sights, but as with much of Siracusa a mix of dirty streets and rundown environment with a few upscale places scattered in between.
Great location. Very clean. We were told that parking was possible on sight. That is not true. We were not told there was a parking charge and it was several blocks away.
location, room cleanliness, hotel staff
The staff were very pleasant. The hotel needed a bit of make over which judging from the building works outside, it may be getting. Our room was rather small.
exploring Siracusa construction was going on
Generally conmfortable despite the comments below, very helpful desk staff No proper internet service, overheated room, poor food, especially breakfast fruit juice, very poor waitress in the bar
What I needed No
Room nicely decorated (modern) and clean. Useful having a fridge. Staff helpful enough and friendly. Good central location - very convenient for bus and train stations. Breakfast fair. No croissants for breakfast! (Not really an issue - just we got them everywhere else!)
Very near the centre...within walking distance from everything and friendly staff.
its in a suitable place if you want to visit siracusa
very well placed for trains and bus services. Reasonably quiet area and we had a view with balcony of the bay. very pleasant staff and a tidy breakfast service. Easy walking to Ortigia and shopping areas.
the hotel is near the bus station and in walking distance of the interesting areas of the city. The room is clean and quite comfortable Most of the staff does not speak English. Breakfast is quite poor. I expect a little more for the price paid.
The location and being able to walk to the see the ancient ruins and the beauty of the marketplaceand the friendliness of the people. The parking situation was a problematic at times.
It's easy to find out from the highway-bus terminal of Siracusa. And, a supermarket is near.
Excellent central location, immediately next to the bus station, which was very useful when arriving and leaving by bus, and also within easy walking distance of all the sights and good food and drink. Well-fitted modern rooms with welcome quiet air conditioning.
Lovely room with nice sea view. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Not far from Ortygia by foot. Nothing
The hotel is an easy walk from the train station; maybe five minutes. It is also walking distance from the archeological park and museum, and from ancient Syracuse, the isle of Ortygia. The hotel seem to be in a seedy neighborhood, an area dominated by car and motorcycle mechanic shops. But the hotel itself is recently remodeled and the room was fine. A good value, particularly considering the great location.
The staff of the hotel. They are so friendly and carefull.
The lady owner of this hotel was just magnificent, a jewel really. I loved my stay. Nope
The staff there are warm and very helpful. We lived in a one bed flat with everything, fridge and freezer, cooker, etc. Room is well cleaned and the bathroom is well equiped. It's certainly good value for money. A few supermarkets around so though no breakfast served you can easily find something nice to eat. It's a bit far from the city centre, but ok with us as we renteed a car and it's not too hard to find a parking place in city centre (avoid the island). There is a bus service just in front to the property, but we didn't use so cannont comment.
The Hotel is central and close to everywhere, the staff very helpfull and speaks english, and a secure good parking place since I was riding my motorbike. Excellent. The only thing which did not bother me a lot was that my double room was with two separate beds, instead of one double so me and my wife had to sleep apart for the night :) I am sure that if I complained they would have fixed something but did not even bother since I just stayed for one night.
Hotel is situated in a quite location but still fairly close to the centre. The breakfast was good but choice restricted. To make things worse the ham and cheese offered on other days was not available on the Sunday as the kitchen was closed!!
The location, in Ortygia, is excellent. It's very difficult to get to the hotel with a car, and the parking is a good distance away.
Very central in Ortigia. The rooms were comfortable with good big beds, fridge, television with english-language stations and air conditioning. The owner was very hepful when we needed to hire a car and about our day trips. We found we could use Sleep in Sicily as a good base.
Excellent location on Ortygia island, the early check-in time proved extremely handy. The proprietors cooked us a lovely cake for breakfast in the morning!
We found the owners very friendly and helpful. Our room was very quiet, spacious and comfortable with a small balcony. We loved the breakfasts, especially the homemade cake every morning! The location is excellent.
Very nice B&B with loads of character in it. Room was very spacious and decorated in a rustic style. B@B located at arm stretch from the sea on one side and Duomo from another. Fresh breakfast was served at the patio just outside the room. Very nice and friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend.
very friendly and helpful staff, clean room, good breakfast and central location
The owners of Sleep in Sicily are really nice, they can give you a good advise of what to do and what to see, as well as where to eat. The room was nice and clean. We had a nice time here.
Very warm welcome from the owner - Very clean and simple rooms - Extremely well located in Syracusa !!!! - Really easy to find with a map - Good breakfast - Feeling at home ! Thank you very much Massimiliano !
Excellent location, very hospitable B&B owners Massimiliano and Cristina.
Personal approach from the owner The room was a bit cold but I guess it's due to winter season
Perfect location The noise from the street ( bad windows)
Frist i will start by saying the staff are excellent but after that it is all down hill.It was the most costly hotel we stayed in Sicily for the week. The bathroom was dirty and the shower was so small, a big man would not fit into it.The shower head was half working it was that old.The manger agree with all i said, so i hope they will do something about it as the city was beautiful and I advise anybody to go and see it. I would not stay at hotel Roma again.
Hotel staff excellent and veer helpful in relation to parking
Bedroom and bathroom both spacious, very clean and looked as if recently refurbished. Only criticism is that we were iven room on top (4th) floor which had small balcony but also very high stone parapet so no view unless you stodd on ledge at base of parapet. Staff generally efficient and helpful except for one receptionist who, although she tried to be helpful, knew nothing and was not very bright either.
Good location in the center of Siracusa. Free internet in the lobby. Nice view over the square. Very much noise from the square - would be very nice if the management made the rooms soundproof or at least that the windows facing the square were soundproofed as restaurants in the square were open until well past midnight.
Ana, one of the staff members at reception was amazing, very helpful, good knowledge. rooms are quite basic for 4 star hotel
Great location on the island. Friendly and accomodating multi-lingual staff.
Convenient location for tourist activities Very inconvenient location for noise. Street noise continued to 2 a.m. and ruined our sleep. We checked out after 1 of our 3 nights
The location is great. It's in the middle of everything, and I was quite relieved we ended up staying in Ortigia and not Siracusa, because it's far prettier. The rooms were a little dark as far as natural lighting goes, and it could have been cleaner, so I didn't think the price was well deserved or the 4-star rating. But it served it's purpose. The hotel reception was quite helpful.
The location - right in the middle of Ortigia, the old part of the city. We enjoyed the modern decoration of our room, and the beautiful bathroom. A very pleasant and comfortable place to stay. The breakfast was disappointing.
