The customer service was very nice. The front desk clerk, Wanda was very nice. Over all the room served its purpose. This place needs to be remodeled. If you are booking a room here please make sure you are paying attention. I made a mistake and book a room for smoking. It was not the hotel fault but I wish they could have changed it for me. Overall if you looking for luxury this is not the place.
The pool and location of the hotel
The place was very classy and the staff extremely friendly.
We had to cancel our honeymoon and travel back home because of weather. We stayed here on the drive back to get some rest after a long drive. The room and staff were amazing and very helpful. They made our stay memorable. We will be returning to this hotel again when traveling through town.
Spacious, well-appointed room Great free breakfast Downtown Historic property Nothing!
Nighttime staff were exceptional
The staff were very helpful and kind. We ended up having to request a roll-away bed and they were able to accommodate quickly and professionally. We had a corner room with a lot of windows. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was free and had a decent selection of foods. They charge $10 for valet parking, but we were able to find free street parking close to the hotel. The hotel is around the corner from a number of interesting bars and restaurants.
This place was very nice. If you like history, staying in something more authentic, this is the place. It's an old building that used to be the Grayson and has been modernized with still some old touches on the inside. We had a great room with a view of the riverfront on one side and on the other a beautiful Greek Revival church. We were on the top floor and were able to sleep with the curtains open. However, there are a few you oughta knows: there was not a fridge in our room. Maybe we could have requested one, but it didn't become an issue until we came back to the room w/leftovers. Also, there's not a tub, only a shower. Wouldn't be an issue, but there was only two small shelves to put all my stuff (shampoo, conditioner, etc.) and no where to set my foot when shaving. This won't stop us from staying there again though if we decide to travel or are passing through Montgomery. Great place!
We had a wonderful stay. Clean comfortable rooms. Parking was a bit of a nightmare. We ended up having to pay for valet parking in order to get our car parked. Parking
Very friendly staff - big room - wonderful beds and the best free breakfast, with the friendliest person my wife and I have met in the morning on the many hotels we have stayed in.
The Hampton Inn Downtown Montgomery is an old hotels from the golden era that has been beautifully renovated and updated without doing away with the beauty and charm of a classic hotel. There is a double staircase in the lobby that leads to a balcony that surrounds the lobby on the second floor. The elevators still have the large dials over the doors with a needle that indicates the floor the elevator is on. Just a beautiful place to stay. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and decorated very nicely. They also have a fantastic free breakfast bar with hot food. Nothing! Absolutely nothing to complain about.
This was the first time that I'd been and had to wait more than 30 minutes to check-in, the first time that my room wasn't ready before I entered it, and the first time that I'd seen a roach in my room
It was recently remodeled but felt dirty. The first room that we were given had a terrible smoke odor. We were given another room that did not have a smoke smell. If the rooms were recently renovated, more should have been done to remove the smoke smell
The room had a bad smell
The manager is great an he makes sure your room and overall stay is excellent Some of the housekeepers are very disrespectful, they saw my sister barely walking down the hall with my 1 yr old an because her stomach was wrapped they assumed that she had just had a baby an they made nasty rude comments. She had surgery for cancer
Friendly staff, cleanliness, quiet/peaceful are to sleep. The first room I had was literally in the ground. My view was the roots of bushes and garbage that should have been collected weeks ago. Trash really needs to be removed. The a/c unit only functioned in heat mode, so i opened the window to stay cool.
Sketchy area Dark and creepy
Good location, comfy bed and room , kitchenette very helpful, just what I needed, desk clerks were great
The room felt brand new and the comfort level was awesome Nope!
Very clean with great, large rooms. good staff.
great staff great value had a very quiet restful stay

clean noisy late at night
Good quality room, breakfast was very good. Clean facilities. Had to pay for parking. Ridiculous to pay that much for room and still have to pay additional fee's to park.
This is a great location on the river right next to the Entertainment district had to call for maintenance for AC to get fixed first night, it drips from the air return into the room leaving the carpet wet below. The carpet was worn and ragged in this spot. Paint was peeling in the bathroom ceiling, cleaning staff didn't touch room after first night or leave fresh towels. Front desk wa responsive with issues, but these are things that shouldn't happen
Great location and great breakfast. Staff handled complaints quickly.. Mold behind nightstand in our first room. Switched to another room, and it was still really humid. $10 to park. Glass shower with no door spray water all over the bathroom.
RIGHT NEXT TO BALL PARK THE BUGS IN ROOM
The staff was incredibly friendly and sweet with my 2 year old son. The breakfast was fun and had tons of options, we loved it. Our room was dirty. I had to look for one of my son's toys and therefore I inspected it thoroughly...under the bed was gross as was in the couch cushions and there was grime on the floor. There were cigarette burns in the couch. The pool was freezing. The hot tub was not properly treated and smelled like body odor and sweat (honestly, it was gross. we got out after a couple minutes and went back to the room to take HOT showers, then spent the next few hours hoping we didn't get skin rashes). The parking lot was full and I had to park across the street in a scary lot a block away and then run back to the hotel at night. Luckily I was told this by another hotel guest who had just found this out on his own. Once I returned I had to get the money I paid for parking refunded...so stupid and the whole process took forever. Overall not run well, totally ruined my trust in Embassy Suites always being a safe bet when we travel.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The lobby area very nice. I didn't like having to pay $10 or $15 extra to park. My reservation with Kayak said parking would cost only $5 a day. I don't think it should have cost anything. Also, the linen on one of the beds was stained.
Staff Since we last stayed there two years ago the property was less clean and just wasn't as mice
Although not the Wingate directly, the customer service contracted to handle online bookings refused to allow a rescheduling of the date of the reservation or provide a voucher for future use. Business travel often requires modification of ones' plans, and the refusal to allow me to do so in this case means that I will not be attempting to book another stay with Wyndham.
Staff friendly and room nice (we stayed in queen suite) Hot breakfast was awful. Egg runny and cold, sausage links either overcooked or cold, fruit that was there was brown & several bowls not refilled. We chose to go somewhere and pay for breakfast the 2nd day of our stay.
It was quiet, easy to get to with plenty of options for food and gasoline. Nice breakfast. And staff were friendly. The elevator was a little creaky, but it went up and down.
Room smelled like paint hallway smelled like weed The smell
the room was quite smelly. The overall cleanliness was ok. The Hotel is situated right next to the I-85 and some fast food restaurants, which might be convinient after a long drive. For one night its absolutely ok. room was smelly. But the staff helped us out with some room spray which somewhat helped
nothing hotel toilet didn't flush - i had to take the lid off and flush the stopper myself; the staff had to move me from my first room becuase the first one was in such disarray; no soap, no shampoo -- the manager had to bring it herself after 2 phone calls. the building itself looks abandoned and run down. the place is surreal, it's actually hard to believe that the owners allow the hotel to deteriorate into such a decrepit state. the carpet was disgusting. no place to plug in your computer or phone - how is it possible that in 2015 a hotel does not visible electrical outlets that aren't hidden behind the headboard? towels were paper thin and incredibly rough. I left after the first night.
This hotel is a very good hotel, with the budget that we were on. The staff were phenomenal-especially the lady at the check in desk (sorry I forgot your name). However, it is a great location-which makes it easy to walk to other restaurants that are close-by. Also, the landscaping view by the pool is beautiful. The free breakfast was also delightful & good. The rooms were clean and the housekeeping staffing were wonderful as well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone & will definitely go back again! :)
My friend and I wanted to explore Montgomery and came back to the motel late Saturday night to find a man in the parking lot staring at us as we walked back into our room. A few minutes later, somebody was knocking at our door. We called the front desk and asked someone to come to our room. They said they would come and never showed up. They did call back a minute later asking what the person looked like...which was particularly problematic given that we were trying to keep quiet to make it appear as though the room was empty. Additionally the motel keeps the blinds open on all unoccu
Value, fridge, microwave, staff Nothing
Location & staff We wish the pool had been larger.
Clean room, great continental breakfast and convenient for our stop. The website claims the pool is heated, but it wasn't. around 60 degrees maybe.
Bed was very comfy. Even though it was close to the highway, I didn't hear the traffic. Cookies in the lobby were a nice touch, and the staff were very friendly. The only thing I disliked about this hotel was the coffee.
I like that the room was nice & spacious I didn't like that pool was not available and that was the only reason I chose that Hotel
Hot bar breakfast, cleanliness of hotel and room.
Staff was very friendly. The computer system was down and they were very calm and accommodating to the best of their ability. Sounds silly - but they did not have Splenda. For those that cannot have sugar, it is hard to make a good cup of coffee with the other artificial sweeteners.
STAFF AND BREAKFAST I HAD A ROOM THE SHOWER HEAD HAD MILDEW ON IT. WE HAD 2 BEDS WHEN A KING WOULD HAVE WORKED FOR US.
I was given a very quiet, clean room which was greatly appreciated after a long day of driving. There were no hassles at check in. Staff was polite and efficient. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable.
Great location. Shopping & restaurants near by. Very limited breakfast selection
Location. Let us check in early Needs a happy hour
I liked that my sheets were clean and the room was comfortable. The hotel was by the interstate, so you could hear car's blowing the horns and big trucks driving by. When I first got to my room there was a dirty tampons already in the trash can that was smelly so I closed the door. But I still enjoyed my overall visit
The indoor pool was nice and the breakfast was delicious.
Good location. Comfortable bed. Good price. Late check in was difficult. Room only had 1 pillow. No breakfast.
Buildings were run-down, rooms were not clean, towels were dirty. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
Hotel is gross
The staff was very courteous and helpful. The room I booked (2 bedroom) was not available, they compensated me with 2 reg. rooms for the same price. One kitchen was fully stocked and one had nothing but a frying pan. The desk chair in one room was broken and shredded.
It was near the interstate. Yes! It looked great in the photos but when we go there it was run down and tattered. The sheets had holes in them the curtain were shredded, the bathroom was missing towels, no toilet tissue no phone in the room. And this was the second room i moved to.
Nothing front desk clerk was super evil...
Location and it was great for a family and price was great No towels in bathroom smell bad
This hotel was so nasty, I didn't even sleep under the covers. They didn't have towels, I had to go out and buy them and they had bugs. Do not stay there.
Convenient location. Low rate. One word: cockroaches. On the ceiling. In the shower. Pretty much everywhere. Really terrifying.
Nothing... It was nasty! TV didn't work...it was nasty!
Nothing. No other hotels were available due to Hurricane Matthew evacuation. Tried to find somewhere else immediately after checking in but didn't have any luck. Staff gave our room key to another guest and they entered while my family was in the room. The accommodations at this hotel were deplorable. I honestly felt bad that my two little girls had to see this place let alone sleep in it. Stained couches, stained sheets, no toilet paper, no towels, endless bugs, etc. it was disgusting. STAY AWAY
no soap in rooms or towels and new owner who dont allow dogs but desk person said ok as its new policy and security guard woke us up at 2am saying to get out as dogs were not allowed told him clerk said okand he was going to call police if not out but we
Good location, clean, accommodating staff. No
The hotel was clean, the staff helpful and friendly, and the bed was comfortable. I would stay here again.
Staff very accomodating, friendly, clean rooms, comfortable bed and pillows! Nothing
The bed was extremely comfortable and clean... The toilet wiggled
We found the hotel was centrally located near the Shakespeare Festival and to shopping and restaurants in the area. They have a typical breakfast menu (waffles if you like them) and a nice indoor pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel was a bargain for the price.

Very nice hotel, very accommodating. Staff helpful and friendly.
The hotel has ants in the room and at the swimming pool. I had two room during my stay at the Sleep Inn Suites in Montgomery, AL. One room was for 6 nights and the other room was for 3 nights. Horrible week at this hotel.
Low cost. Though advertised as non-smoking & claimed penalties for violation, hallways reeked of cigarette smoke, and my room had lingering cigarette smoke odor.
Offered a hot breakfast and was close to the interstate with indoor door rooms.
The staff was friendly and the room was as expected. The pool area was disgusting and needs to be sprayed for fire ants. Considering that the pool is inside I did not expect it to be infested with bugs. During my stay I was bit by ants at the pool and had a severe allergic reaction.
Was easy to get to. Not very clean. Front desk lady seemed more into watching TV and her phone than helping.
Staff were nice Dirty

The staff was very friendly. Our room (201) smelled like paint.
Location The bed was hard and there was no wall thermostat and the unit would come off and on and awaken me. No way to set to fan to stay on constantly.
Location was convenient. Picture was misleading, my room was unclean. The staff (of which there was one) was useless, more interested in watching TV and eating than helping me. I didn't expect 5 star accommodations and service but my experience was terrible.
Location is great Bed was very uncomfortable, room smell like heavy smokers, halls smell like mildew, carpet very sticky
I had an issue with the AC unit in my room and they moved me to another room w a new digital AC. It seems that they are upgrading their rooms. The desk staff was excellent and I received excellent value for the price!
The staff was awesome I was very impressed with my two nights stay..

Too high of a price for what they offer
The price, the staff. The location were all great. Will stay there Again. No
The cleanliness of the property as well as the choice of furnishings in the room. I was awakened twice by someone on their staff attempting to enter the room although the lock was on the door. The computer was down when we checked in so she said they had no way of knowing which rooms were occupied. The wifi still didn't work after their computer issues were resolved, so I didn't get much work done.
The staff were great and very helpful. The internet was spotty, but mostly worked.
Management problems, I usually love Residence Inns. This one did not tell us for over 5 hours that they were not going to have the room we reserved ready for us in time for us to get in and get ready for a military event. The manager stated they couldn't get the rooms cleaned (in five hours?) wanted us to take a studio room. Did not offer to help us find another hotel. Told us to call the general manager on the following Monday and complain. Oh, well, I can recommend the Renaissance Hotel in down town Montgomery.
We were very pleased with our stay. It was very clean and had all the amenities you would expect. My only complaint was the small size of the T.V. When we travel now, you see flat screens on the walls and I was shocked at the tiny T.V. and no movie channel. If they replaced the T.V.s the suite would be perfect.
This was my 3rd stay at this facility and it seems to get better with each stay. All services, housekeeping, front desk, lounge are staffed with friendly, accommodating, professional people. Can't recommend it highly enough!
I was extremely pleased with this hotel. The room was much larger then I expected...sofa, chair, fireplace, full kitchen...it had everything. Very clean. The FREE breakfast buffet was great! everything you could think of almost (except for meat). The only negative I have would be the slow drain in the shower.
Overall my stay at Residence Inn by Marriott Montgomery was fair. The people at the front desk was very cordial; however, I would like to comment on three issues. Firstly, I like sleeping on a firm pillow. There were four pillows on the bed and they all were as light as a feather. Secondly, the bathroom had no grab bars over the tub or on the wall. In my opinion, this is a safety issue for senior citizens like myself and children. I love to soak in the tub, but I had to shower because it would have been a struggle getting out of the tub with no grab bar and I was alone. (A grab bar is a big helper getting in and out of the shower also) Thirdly, as I was preparing to check out a huge cock roach slowly crawled from the bath room towards the bed. I quickly got my luggage packed and left. While driving around to the front office to check out, the guest card came to mind because it was my intention to enter my first and second comments on the card but in my rush, after I was the ...
This is an older, but nicely re-done place to stay. We really liked it. A full breakfast, too. I hope all Marriot extended stay places are as nice.
The fire alarm was pulled at midnight from about 10 pm until 1:30 it was so loud in the hall you could not even enjoy yourself and there had to be 100 teenagers and adults so you were scared to go out of your room to leave and stay somewhere else
Price was adequate. Had a mildew smell to the building.
Many courteous staff Attempt to charge for service dog in violation of federal rules.
For a beautiful hotel I had a very bad stay with them my room was not clean not one day I was there, and I had to ask for my towels every day and for that they should give me back some of my money. I will not be going back there again I told then they I told them they should give me back one day of my room stay and I have,en hard from them, all I can say is that it is a beautiful hotel.
Huge room. Clean, updated. Included a refridgerator & microwave
I liked the location and that it seems a family-owned establishment. The night clerks were very nice. The hotel had been inadvertently overbooked by 4 rooms on the morning after the first night of our stay and the desk clerk, asked if we would consider booking elsewhere (we were prepaid for 3 nights a month in advance, btw)!
How big the room was Some of the staff
Not much The staff's unfriendliness, the room had stains on the sheets, roaches and spiders in bathroom and bed area
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
Location was good, Staff fairly friendly The room had an odor that was stifling roaches behind the bed bedspread was stinky. I slept in my clothes put my bags back in the car fear of taking roaches home.
Price Very outdated decor and furnishings.
check in was excellent. the lobby was very clean and getting to my room excellent. I had trouble getting hot water out of sink. there seem to be quite a bit of arguing and parting outside of my room lasting until past 2:30 am. I was expecting more to eat for breakfast.
We enjoyed our stay, and will return to Homewood Suites whenever visiting the Montgomery area. We were highly impressed when we overslept and missed breakfast, yet the staff accommodated us by gathering breakfast items for two hungry visitors! Can't think of one complaint...had a wonderful visit!
The 2 bed/bath suite was spacious and clean. Great for 2 couples with small children. The room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was nice. And the shower was hot! Wish we could have stayed longer but will certainly stay here again!
Large and delicious free breakfast, friendly and accommodate night staff. Nice indoor pool. A few ants and the water wasn't Crystal clear, but it felt clean and safe. Also had a nice hit tub. Room was very spacious with a wet bar. Room was very damp feeling. Bathroom was clean butworn.
Spacious rooms. Clean. Close proximity to all things Montgomery. Safe. Needed an iron that worked and never received a new one.
breakfast closes too early, time should be extended
Nice size rooms Staff wasn't very friendly at the front desk!!
Nice room. Everything was very clean and the service was great. Had an enjoyable stay here.
Room was nice and looked clean. Bed comfortable. Overall, a good deal. I'd stay here again. "Fitness room" was very inadequate. Only 3 machines and the one treadmill was broken. No weights, no towels, no water; just an empty room with 3 machines. Bathroom tub was not very clean. Complimentary breakfast had waffle maker but batter was so thin it made limp waffles.
Good bang for your buck. Had fridge and microwave! The pillows could have been better but it wasn't bad.
The bed was comfortable, and overall the room was nice. The breakfast was good, and the breakfast staff was friendly. The price and location of the hotel were great. It was fine, but I don't think we'd stay there again. The cups provided in the bathroom were individually wrapped in plastic, but there were holes in the plastic and the cups were damp and soapy and smelly. I am pregnant and have two small children. I called the front desk to ask for an extra sheet, and I had to go to the front desk to get it. It would have been really nice for them to bring it to the room. We were weary travelers.
Very clean and comfortable hotel. Bedding was very comfy. Staff was extra friendly. Bathroom was as clean as I have ever seen from a hotel anywhere, especially one that is not brand new. Shower water pressure was just right, and hot water was consistently available at any time, despite the fact that there was at least one high school softball team staying there. :) Safe area on eastern edge of Montgomery. Very safe. Shopping and dining is plentiful, as the hotel is next to the popular East Chase shopping area. McDonald's is next door; more restaurants in a shopping center within walking distance, as is a supermarket. A cut above what you would normally expect from the Sleep Inn banner, and at this price point. Breakfast selection was a little sparse, but the items there were of good quality. Elevator was a bit slow.
The staff were courteous and very helpful. The room was clean; the bed comfortable. There were plenty of towels and wash cloths. All rooms are non-smoking. The Continental breakfast was well cooked with many options. There was no extra charge for late checkout at 1 pm and I saved $20 per night by booking through Kayak. Pretty good value for the money. It was noisy. All night and day due to the McDonalds next door.
The staff was friendly and pleasant. The room was a little musty when we entered. The coffee the first morning tasted burnt.
