Location! Comfortable rooms. Rooftop bar is a nice place to hang out (aside from pricey drinks). Small elevator. The bathroom layout was weird, the shower stall was only half covered by glass, and the other half completely open. This combined with the shower head placement meant that the bathroom was completely soaked after anyone showered.
This is a Kayak review- not a hotel review. I booked my travel a week in advance and with 2 days notice I received a call that I no longer had a reservation and there was nothing that could be done. It left me scrambling to find a room and I had to pay 40% more than expected because I never really had a reservation. Will never use Kayak again.
Can't say a thing. I travel quite a bit every year and stay in dozens of hotels. I must say this was the worst experience at a hotel I have ever had. I would never suggest this place to anyone.
Very nice updates to room and bathroom. Comfortable bedding, drumBAR on the 18th floor, and great location. Room was extremely hot and the temp could not be adjusted. The room was also very small but worked for our 1 night stay.
Very clean. Microwave and fridge nice to have. Close to shopping and navy pier Self park was really valet parking down the street.
Great location and value...staff was fantastic, reacted to every need we had with a positive attitude and were very timely. nothing...we don't spend a lot of time in a hotel when we travel...met our needs perfectly
Great location with a nice hotel design. The drum bar and the bakery were nice perks. Its an older building and that is very obvious. The AC is questionable, the elevators are small and take quite a while, and if you want normal pillows you need to request them.
Hotel was clean and staff was exceptionally friendly. Doorman was extremely helpful. Donut shop downstairs was delicious and convenient. The location was decent if you're willing to walk about a mile to anything you'd like to see. Room was a little small and elevator was extremely small preventing us from getting our stroller in if anyone else was in the elevator.
The location is excellent for whatever activity of interest in downtown Chicago. Attentive and courtesy staff
Really wonderful employees that made us feel welcomed and comfortable. They were very accommodating and polite.
Great location just off the Magnificent Mile easy to get to just with everything you might need to downtown. When was nice but needed a few small maintenance items repaired other than that it was a great place to stay.
Extremely helpful staff and the facilities were first class from room amenities to the gym. Location is great - easy walking access to shopping, tourist destinations etc
This is a great hotel the atmosphere that employees everyone was great there
The staff was extremely helpful with everything from directions to meal preferences. The quality of atmosphere was also very good. The decor and views from the hotel were better than anywhere I've ever stayed. The pool area was not on par with the essence or ambiance of the rest of the hotel, with the lack of hot tub areas and the extreme plainness of the pool area compared to the rest of the hotel.
Service staff never made me feel like I was a bother. I loved the spacious and newly remodeled room we stayed in. Beautiful bump out bay window with breathtaking views of the river and Lake Michigan. Bathroom had very high end finishes, and also included a television in the mirror! The maintenance guy who tried to fix a broken bathroom light was using very profane language as he failed at repairing the light. However, this staff member's behavior scored us a free upgrade from city view - to river lake view - so it all worked out.
great accomodations and service
Superior service and accommodations, personal at hotel far superior to any staff at any hotel!
Location of the hotel was close to downtown and many activities I would like wireless internet in guest rooms (for free)
I enjoyed the view of the Chicago River, watching the excursion boats, view of the Trump hotel.
I liked the central location of the hotel. I think the charge for internet-acces is ridiculous, the room-service sometimes took very long (1,5 hour) and they tried to charge me more than what I had originally booked for.
Additional price for fittness facilities ($12 per/person per day);Long-distance rates (over $10 per minute !!!), spring water provided in rooms - almost $6 per 1,89L bottle
The location was perfect! We were able to shop, enjoy the nightlife, and take in the Chicago Marathon. Everything was close by. The price was pretty high, but we stayed over Columbus Day/Chicago Marathon weekend so I guess that rooms were at a premium.
Nothing!!!! Because my credit card was charged twice for $1068.72!!!! And it absolutely ruined my trip!!!! My credit card was charged twice for $1068.72!!!! And it absolutely ruined my trip!!!! Also... When making my reservation through Booking.com, the Sheraton Chicago didn't have my reservation in their system!!! Booking.com had to fax over my reservation twice, hence the double charge on my credit card!!!!
Was ok Thanks Dirty cutlery/plates left by the cleaning staff left in the passage for more than 24 hours.
Friendly, professional staff. Great accommodations. Perfect location. Especially liked the on-site dining options.
Spacious room Had to wait for my room Heating went into cooling so too sensitive and could not control to heat only. Bath tub did not drain well.
It was a great location and the staff was very friendly. I spent a lot of time looking for a room that would comfortably fit 3 adults. I was traveling with my 19 year old daughter and my 67 year old mother. I specifically booked and paid for a "triple room". When we got to the room there were 2 small double beds. Not at all what I expected for 3 adults or for $400 per night. Be very aware of what you are actually getting for your money. This was not at all comfortable for 3 regular sized adults. I will say everything else was fine but I felt very ripped off for what we paid vs. what we got. I could have booked a regular room anywhere for much less.
Comfort and the attention of the reception employees. The location is also excellent. The room was not clean. I found a dirty glass under the bed. Besides, dirty plates remained for long hours in front of the doors of some rooms. I really hope it was an exception: that´s why I keep on recommending the hotel.
Bed linens and beds were comfy. Motelish
yeri çok güzel check out işlemlernin kolaylaştırılması
şehrin en merkezi yerinde, dunyanın en onemli alışveriş caddelerinden biri olan mıchıgan avenue'ya bırkaç adım uzaklıkta. kahvaltı da fiyata dahıl olsa harıka olurdu.
comfy bed, great location, nice lobby. Front desk lady was not very helpful. Toilet smelled like sewage. They called me from front desk to tell me someone was at my door from hotel personnel when I had privacy sign on...that woke me up...What kind of "privacy on" is this?
We had a great weekend staying at The Thompson! The location, staff and room were outstanding! We will definitely be staying here again!
Fantastic location, outstanding room. Would go back in a minute.
The Thompson Hotel Staff were amazing, very friendly and accommodating. We were upgraded to a corner king suite as it was our wedding night so that was a pleasant surprise as well. Overall wonderful experience. Would definitely go back. Nothing!
Nice Interior Design. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. This is a much better location than other hotels I have stayed at further south. We took a very nice walk north to Lincoln Park. It is a beautiful neighborhood and does not even feel like you are in the city. Too pricey for me to use other than business. I did not need or use "facilities" so that is the only reason I did not give that an "excellent" score. We were not impressed with the breakfast food. We were very pleased with our lunch at Gibson's across the street.
Body hair on the bathroom sink. stains on toilet. Kind of gross for the price.
The beautiful view of lake Michigan. Close proximity to great restaurants and shopping. Nico Osteria restaurant within the hotel was excellent. The room was beautifully decorated, very comfortable bed, reading light ( unexpected), and huge bathroom and shower. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. One of the late afternoons we needed to call for extra towels, since our room had not been cleaned, and we had been out all day. I do realize that this weekend was a home Bears foorball game and was very busy.
We loved everything about it. From the very beginning (checkin) till the very last second before we left the hotel. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The Concierge made arrangements for a boat trip on the Chicago River. Housekeeping kept our room in perfect shape. We had a room on the 21st floor which had the perfect view towards the chicago skyline. It was awesome. I gladly recommend to visit the Thompson Chicago and will for sure also book on other occasions other Thompson hotels. Thank you for this very wonderful and perfect vacation, Thompson. nothing!
We go downtown every Christmas and this was the first time we stayed here. We loved it. Friendly staff, wonderful accommodation, and great location. We will certainly be back.
People are friendly Restaurant is very good Design is current Beds are comfortable air conditioning unit in room was loud
We chose the Thompson Hotel for its location and value on Kayak. If I was traveling alone on business it would have been a better choice. They are super accomaditing allowing us to check in at 11:00 am without any problems. They also have a great online precheck in service. There is a Starbucks next door and good restaurants all around it. The precheck in service is a great idea however, it is as if you actually request something like an extra blanket or extra towels which were questions on the precheck in system they do not fulfill them. The elevator system requires you to use your room key to get up to your floor however, there is only one reader per elevator and it was virtually impossible to get to it when using the elevator. So many people were talking about riding the elevator up and down trying to get to their floors. The showers were never hot just warm regardless of the time of day. The A/C was all over the the place, hot / cold. The room refresh was seriously below average and actually just a really bad bed make up with fresh towels. They basically missed at the attempt to be a chic boutique hotel. There is no real identity to this property.
The bed and shower were amazing!
not much Room was 'nasty' for a 4 star hotel. -broken soap dish on the floor -faucet handle was not fastened and fell. -really dirty carpet -old building. poorly renovated. bad paint job in the hallways.
We loved the location and the welcoming and helpful staff. The atmosphere is elegant. For a small extra cost, we opted for the Executive Room with access throughout the day for a light breakfast, snacks during the day, and hors doerves during cocktail hour. It's view is spectacular and all but the tables which are too small, we enjoyed immensely and visited often during our stay. WiFi in your room is an extra cost and not included in the price of your room.
location 65.00 a day to park car didn't know where to go for breakfast?? not alot of water pressure for shower
Room was clean. No recreational stuff no pool no sauna nothing it was boring.
Location and old world elegance Several elevators broken, tea room not kept up-my chair had a big hole in it. Chairs looked dilapidated, carpet worn, menu insert pages barely legible (bad photo copies). Most pages had faded writing in 3 of the four menus. Also-3 menus did not include alcoholic beverages
Great location and afternoon tea was amazing.
Whinin walking distance to downtown shopping and attractions and great restaurants, walked to Chicsgo Art Institute to take in Van Gough exhibit. Parking too expensive
Staff were tremendous Hotel needs updating. It is old, worn and dirty
The Drake is a Chicago classic. A bit old, but very luxuries and very, very beautiful. The excellent location and nice staff delivering outstanding service make the Drake the place to be. A bit dated, and almost impossible to roll your own luggage. Unlike most hotels with marble floors, The Drake has the thickest carpet imaginable. Also, the rooms are small for the US (and the money) and you will pay a lot for a view. However, this is the oldest and most desirable location that The Drake sets the standards for all of the other Chicago luxury hotels.
I came to stay at Hotel Felix for NYE in Chicago. The location was excellent and I never had to walk more than 15 minutes to get to anything. Just a few blocks from Michigan Ave and tons of restaurants. But, the rooms were dirty and our floor smelled horrible. I'm certain our sheets were never washed due to all of the mystery hairs I found in the sheets. We also had a mix up when we checked in. Instead of putting us in a queen room, like we reserved 4 months prior, we were placed in room with 2 full beds. When we asked to be moved to our appropriate room so were placed in a tiny room. If you don't mind sacrificing space and cleanliness for location this hotel is fine. But if you are expecting a luxurious night in the city don't waste your time.
Almost everything was absolutely wonderful except... Cleaning staff did not fully replace my used towels and cups. Also, the location made it difficult to easily hail a taxi.
I did not like anything about this hotel. It's in downtown Chicago and it has carpet like a motel. Does not make you feel comfortable at all. The tv sucks the picture even worse. The worst hotel I've been too! Too expensive for a motel like setting. First and last time ever at this hotel. -10
It looks very chic walking in. The staff was all young and super friendly. The air smelled like it was diffused with something. There was a small bar and restaurant attached, which was convenient. Room was small but clean and nice. Staff suggested a boat tour and also booked it for us AND printed off directions, which was really helpful. The room was very small.. I kept hitting my shins on the edge of the bed. My friend and I stayed there together so it made for a pretty tight space but we didn't spend a ton of time in there so it was fine. Also, no breakfast, just free coffee. We ordered towels at one point and no one ever showed up.
The staff was nice, and hotel was pretty much what I expected except as noted: Elevators were a little weird and didn't work as expected Room was deceptively *tiny*
Very small rooms.
Great value...clean....excellent location for shopping Michigan avenue...staff helpful...no complaints!
The hotel is very modern and attractive. And it is in a good location. The bell staff is very friendly Extremely small rooms. Small bathroom with shower only whichhas a curtain not glass Detracts from look. There are no bedside lamps ! Too bad for readers.bartender is sweet, not really does not know how to make a drink-not all that familiar with different types of drinks, bar not set up didn't have cherries, fruit.
Quick check in process. Cute as can be room.
Small Room not clean
Great location, friendly staff, reasonable price Room smelled like smoke
The hotel is quirky, clean and comfortable. Compact rooms for people looking for a comfortable place to sleep but don't need all the bells and whistles. Everything was clean. The girl at the front desk checking in was mumbly and hard to hear. Waited 5+ minutes for a valet attendant to show up (we were the only people there at the moment). Then we were taken up to an uncleaned room. Storing our bags in luggage after we checked out was a similar struggle finding an attendant that was supposed to be there. Fortunately there was one of the staff members who continually helped resolve the issues all weekend long. He was very professional and willing to do any job with patience and a smile. Please hire more staff like him!
Great room. Great location.
Nice front desk staff and security cool there it's a club inside Check in check out times You can hear everything in the hall not good Couldent use gym because of moving equipment Furniture wood and stuff getting old Saw noise complaints but there is a Club upstairs then walls
Thanks to front desk for giving us the room with balcony just as I thought we will get booking with third party
I liked the room and the view I drove from Milwaukee to Chicago for the overnight stay me and my fiancee for her birthday and we were hoping to attend the lounge on the rooftop and was denied due to a dresscode we knew nothing about i feel if i paid my money and staying at the hotel i should've been able to attend or at least tell your customers ahead of time about dresscode unfair and drove to Chicago for nothing completely disappointed
The location of this hotel is perfect. It's a few blocks away from the river, Michigan avenue, and the Lake. Our room was very chic. There are hardwood floors, a nice desk area, a large bathroom, and a balcony. The minibar and room service were appropriately priced. We also loved the doorman, TJ, he was always very friendly and had the best recommendations for places to go. Make sure to ask him if you need any assistance with activities or restaraunts. He was much better than the concierge inside the hotel. The only odd thing about the room is that the entire bathroom can be open to the bed. There is a curtain from the outside that only just covers it. The concierge at the hotel was also sub par. When I asked where to get sushi he suggested the hotel restaraunt and when I asked where to get bagels in the morning he suggested whole foods. I was unhappy with this service as a concierge because they should know the hot spots in the city.
Staff was very nice and accommodating. The rooms were great and comfortable.
Great valet peopl, n customer service .. tj was awesome help..
We checked into the hotel at about 8 in the evening the night befor, and the desk clerk at that time let us know if we needed a late check-out just let the front desk know.... In the morning around 1030am, we requested from a different desk clerk a later check out time of an hour ot so. The clerk at the desk was undeservedly rude to us in telling us no. There are many better ways to deliver a no to a paying guest.
Love the rooms and the views!
The Hotel is amazing but while picking up my vehicle from the valet I noticed that it had been hit. The valet attempted to say that that was how the vehicle was when he got it. I was told by the head of security that it would be taken care of. As of a week later I have not heard from the hotel or the valet company
The hotel rooms were absolutely amazing
The staff were so helpful and friendly. They took really good care of us. I would definitely stay here again.
The most thing I like here is the location, which is very convenience. Also, their front desk service is good~ I'm not satisfied with its room service, I ordered hot milk and they sent me the cold milk. Besides, the price of their room service is not worth from my view. So, just don't make room service, or you will be disappointed with its bad taste and unbelievable bill.
The staff was terrific and our room, the only renovated one so far, was ideal. NA
The room was clean and extremely comfortable with a modern decor that I like. The location is fantastic. None
Location Loud, 1st night people shouting 2:30 am in the corridor, 2nd night wake up service in person knocking the doors, once no refill of coffee pads, never replacement of bottles in the bathroom (shampoo etc), before check out I wanted to get ready for my long trip back, but the room service had started cleaning and I found everything misplaced, the bathroom under water, cups on the carpet, no apoligies
The staff was excellent and very helpful.
I really enjoyed how close it was to everything. The employees were very helpful. I wish the price of the room included breakfast. There wasn't even complimentary coffee offered in the lobby. I had to pay $2.50. There was a coffee maker in the room but it just isn't the same. Get rid of the coffee makers and have pots of fresh coffee available in the lobby.
Location was excellent. Rooms were modern and comfortable. Noise from the ambulances and construction. Crappy attitude from bar staff on balcony.
Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful clean rooms. A sense of safety and security.
Location, location, location! A great hotel for a short break in Chicago -it's very close to Michigan Avenue (1 block) as well as restaurants, bars and nightlife. A really great all round hotel. I would definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend it! Nothing too bad. Just to be aware that it's under renovation, so the facade isn't as attractive as you would expect. But don't be put off, the rooms are beautiful and luxurious with all mod cons.
Close to great retail stores No dislikes
Charles Nancy was very rude and put out by helping me. Also, our keys did not work twice and the cost of the room service is quite ridiculous....$7.00 for dry cereal, plus 18% gratuity pluse $2.50 delivery?! Maybe if the staff was friendly and the service was better, but no way would I ever pay that for a bowl of corn flakes.
Beautiful views from the pool & workout areas. Room was very comfortable. Nice location. No jacuzzi. The sauna was nailed shut.
Clean and comfortable, loved the location, safety, suite was roomy for our two or could accomodate three easily.
Spacious, very well equiped suites with fridges, microwaves and two TV's - very handy when the World Cup clashes with Wimbledon. All furnishings and fabrics in rooms are of the highest quality. Almost all the staff were very friendly, extremely polite and most helpful. Great location for the Chicago tourist. Swimming Pool needs a refurb, now looking dated and tired. Air-con in gym and workout rooms not working therefore uncomfortably hot. Internet connections in Rooms too slow and no weekly rate for using the facility.
When I had a problem with the professionality of one of the staff members, the General Manager took action fast and worked a satisfying solution to the problem. The only thing I didn't care for about this Hotel is that it did not offer a shuttle to the airport or my convention.
The facilities are good. The location is excellent. The parking is outrageous. $66/day but I think that's Chicago. One of the hotel staff was a bit rude, but the others more than made up for his behavior.
Very nice Hotel with a great staff. Valet service was good, bell service was good, front desk service was great. Restuarant was average, parking was expensive.
clean, comfortable,good service.
Basic Internet was kind of hit or miss on access and performance
Toilet flush was EXTREMELY loud. And we could hear the toilets from other rooms as well.
We arrived and there was no parking available and the hot water didn't seem to get any warmer than room temperature.
Liked everything about it! Amazing location, nice facilities, and friendly staff.
loved the architecture, nice view, price was great, good bar, convenient to lots of things in Chicago, usual helpful Sofitel staff . . .
Fantastic location, close to the Magnificent Mile and Water Tower. The building is strikingly modern.
My husband and I loved this hotel. We have stayed in several hotels on or near Michigan Ave and this was the best. The hotel is beautiful and is in the perfect location for us. A short walk to the subway, excellent restaurants along Rush Street and of course fabulous shopping. I will definitely stay here again even though it's a little more than I usually like to pay.
Situated in a good area very convinient for shopping and buisness. I was not allowed a late check out as my flight was late evening.
the room was wonderful - the bed and linens were superior
Sofitel is my new favorite Hotel.
Clean room, good location, good food Difficulty of reaching the concierge by phone and having to listen to recorded advertising of the hotel while waiting
Swanky and chic hotel located in the heart of Chicago only steps away from shopping, great restaurants and all that the city has to offer. It's upscale, hip and a great value -- with a very comfortable bed to boot! What more could you want?
Staff was excellent, they shipped me something that I left in the room immediately. Very clean, they even put a birthday surprise for my husband in room upon arrival. When you enter the main lobby there is no rest room, you have to take elevator to the 2nd floor. After traveling so long one needs to use the facility fast. Also parking fees a bit high per day, the hotel I stay at offers free parking to its guests
Shopping and sightseeing were close by. I spilled coffee on my robe on the first morning and it wasn't replaced in the 6 days I stayed there. I don't think he says we're changed during those 6 days either. Otherwise the staff was really nice and the room very comfortable.
It may seem a bit expensive but the service is effective and prompt. They have in and out privileges and are quick to help There is no free WiFi but I have my own mobile plan.
This hotel is not what i expected...horrible valet service had to wait forever...i told them not to charge my card for the 67 dollars of parking everyday i was paying them cash and when i checked out they charged me again for the parking because they didnt have records that i was paying cash! Will never go back... Staff is super rude!
Great dining options available and close by to lots of shopping outlets. It would be wonderful if I could have a city view instead of facing another building since Chicago is such a nice city. Not close to any subways.
Great valet service. Small rooms
Front desk staff Location Kind to offer large check out Weak wifi Outrageous daily parking fee
We loved how friendly the staff was. William went above and beyond for us! For the price, it would have been nice to have even a basic breakfast included.
Very few amenites for what you pay. Service was slow at best. Concierce desk was helpful. Very good at housekeeping, but not worth the money you pay.
Loved the Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Shower!
Cookies in the lobby and friendly staff. Not very many amenities. Bathroom door didn't close all the way. Room didn't cool down enough.
The hotel has decent accommodations and lives up to the name. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfortable, & the bathrooms are clean. (don't park there!!!!) PARKING PRICES, WTF!? Buying anything (aside from the room itself) from the Westin is out of the question/budget.
Hospitality, service, beds, bar

Sizin sayfanizda book ederken none smoking demistik bize smoking oda verdiler rezaletti... Baska odalari yokmus.. sigara icen bir insan sigara icilmeyen bir ortamda rahatsiz olmaz bilakis kendine iylik yapmis olur temiz bir atmosferde rahat eder.Amaaaa sigara icmeyeni sigara icilen bir ortam cok rahatsiz eder coooook..
No available movies to watch in room.
Great customer service! The staff was very helpful and informative. The Manager spent about 20 minutes with us outlining key points on a map he provided of places to go and things to see as well as the walking distance from the hotel. The whole staff was very friendly. The ambiance of the hotel decor & design was outstanding, not to mention the perfect view from our room. The location is superb & right in the center of Chicago's nightlife. The only thing that I didn't like about the place is that they shut down the pool area earlier than most hotels. But overall would rate this hotel a perfect 10. Great experience and would definitely recommend!
Beautiful clean hotel! Very welcoming and gracious staff. Very comfortable beds.
Location Rate Small room and bathroom Hotel could have been cleaner. Room temperature hard to regulate Very dated
The rooms are nice size, it's in a great location, the fitness center is nice and the bar is popular. The rooms have an eclectic look. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is quiet. The staff was attentive and curtious. The price was very good for the location. We ordered food at the bar and they checked on it twice but it never came. Everything else was great
Parking cost of 69$ a night!
Overall hotel is good...good location, nice athmosphere, etc Bugs in the bed! ... Woman hair in the bed! ... Air conditioner not working properly....
The hotel was very clean, staff went out of their way to accommodate my needs, very centrally located and convenient. Got a great deal on the price too! Outside of their control, the pipes froze around 10pm and there was no heat. I requested an extra blanket but it never arrived at least not by the time I fell asleep.
Location in the heart of Chicago downtown. Lack of concern for the interests of customers. I was a Marriot Gold Elite member and after this recent stay I felt like I should quit the reward program for good.
Everything about our stay was fantastic. The room was ready when we arrived and they upgraded us on the house which was very nice. The room was small but very clean and comfortable. The staff was wonderful they were so nice and friendly that made our stay that much better. I will definitely be stay there next time I visit Chicago.
Location is perfect you can literally walk to 5 STAR restaurants and catching a cab or uber no problem. The staff was great, my room was a little small with no view and when I asked to switch rooms they gave me a much bigger room with water/bridge view of the city on the 11th floor. The staff are very friendly and they made me feel at home. I'm from California and its always nice to feel welcome and greeted with a smile. The bathroom shower head is amazing you will want to stay as long as you can in the shower. The set up of the room is beautiful and modern. The view and large space in room is amazing, but the walls are thin and I can hear the elevator going up and down day and night and people talking in the hallways. I'm really big with bathrooms and I didn't like how the bathroom floor felt on my feet.
Pleasant people. Fast elevator. No cover for the House of Blues. $69/night parking.
