The breakfast buffet was by far the best we've seen on our trip so far. Lots of variety of hot and fresh foods. The location was also great being next to the train station. The bed and pillows weren't super comfy, but alright for one night.
Very close (3 min) of railway station; 20 min walking to centre(old town). Large room, nice design and clean. Everything was perfect (except that we went to the pool in the evening,at 9 pm,and one window was open and cold inside). Nice pool+sauna. Polite and smiley reception staff. Overall, excellent. It would be very nice to have coffee/tea facilities in the room.
Friendly staff, comfortable modern hotel, easily reachable and indoor parking. Pool is also fun! Neighbourhood is not the best (near station) and can be bit noisy at night. Hotel room was hot and dry for reason we don't understand
I like every things in hotel except baggage porter who ask me to give him money 2 Euro for each baggage. I don't like baggage porter .
Typical US style business hotel that did all the basics very well. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of foods. Room service comes with a flat €10 service charge. I ordered a burger which with bacon despite the menu not making any mention of bacon being included.
Location good recommended an excellent restaurant seven miniutes walk from Hotel car park location excellent with lift up to your floor Booked accomodation with Breakfast to be told I had not. I told them I always booked hotels with Booking.com and never had a problem before.
The WiFi service which is stated as free on Booking.com was not free.
You have to appreciate the location in front of City Park and St. Stephen area winthin 10 minutes walking distance. No.2 and U3 metro is very convenient to connct to any popular spots in the city.
Hotel staff was very helpful and all spoke English very well. Hotel was clean, it is more a business class or conference center hotel, but as tourists, we always felt welcome. Breakfast buffet was very good, but they ran out of some items one morning and they were not replenished. Room was clean, not much outside noise at night. Five minutes' walk to railway station. Area around the hotel and nearby railway station seemed questionable at night, but we walked quickly and didn't encounter any problems.
The hotel is a good value for money, provided you get a special offer rate. You get the usual size room, comfortable beds, large-ish tv, I.e all the usual things you would expect from Radisson chain. The service quality is very average - I was shocked to be told by reception to come downstairs to give in my dry cleaning as they "didn't have enough stuff available" to come and pick it up. The rooms were not cleaned properly, when we checked in we had to ask for bathroom to be re cleaned. We asked for a quiet room, only to be told that it was not available. However it did become available after some arguing.
nice location near train station , good breakfast, room was more comfortable nice for big family nothing
near to main railway station
Great Position Breakfast a bit expensive
Welcome, level of comfort and service were excellent. Position in town centre could not be bettered.
Excellent service and cleanliness and proximity to city centre - out of back door of hotel into main street, yet hotel quiet. Parking - very very difficult to get parking and Hotel not easy to locate because bus lane outside - buses often blocking hotel as one drives past.
Fabulous location and great service from the staff. Unfortunately our sleep was spoiled by the Irish Pub down the street being open late and very noisy patrons echoing despite closed windows until 4am.
Warm, homely ambience and excellently kept. I have been staying at your hotel for the past 5 years and the overall upgrade is excellent. No negatives to report.
It was amazing vacation in ancient and splendid Altstadt with luxurious service! Our gratitude to this hotel! Special thanks to Fabian Haberle!
Everything except below. The selection of food in the restaurant and the attitude of the restaurant were poor.
The room was beautiful, the location was fantastic and the hotel staff was very nice. We would stay there again!
the location poor rooms, no air conditioning, old building, smelly and noisy neighbor .
The hotel offers fantastic rooms and is located next to all the tourist places. There is no parking lot nearby and the hotel doesn't have its own parking garage. The closest parking lot is 5 min walk from the hotel which is quite uncomfortable.
the site, the staff my daughter had an extrabed which was awful (the worst bed I have ever seen)
Great location, close to town and the train station. Easy walk to see all the main sights. Great staff who could not do enough to help and spoke excellent English. Although rooms are a bit dated, they are spacious and spotless and the beds are comfy. Mini bar in room at reasonable prices. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room but just call the front desk and they will bring one up to you. Very nice and clean bathroom too. Good value hotel.
The friendly crew and the safe parking Too far from the action (city center)
About 1.5 km walk to old town. Located in a residential area. Rooms were very small. Had to be careful going to toilet that you didn't fall into shower. Poor value for money. Better off paying a little extra for a 'branded' hotel.
everything. it was clean, warm and very comfortable. The staff were all exceptionally helpful and friendly! A really great stay. it would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
It was close to the train station but quiet and the staff were very helpful
Hotel Scherer was close to the train station and on a side street that was quiet. The staff was the best we saw in the three country area. We got in late and they booked us on the tour for the next day at no charge, gave us a good recommendation for dinner and found us a room in the hotel for the next night and let us leave our bags there. Very clean rooms and very cute breakfast area with good food.
staff friendly, helpfull, breakfast had good selection, room was large was cold and reported to rececption and was rectified straight away as was request for a secound pillow.
the kindness of the Staff
that i had a room, nice people working at the hotel the room was as charming as a train compartment
Excellent and friendly staff!!! Fantastic breakfast!!!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful, without being obsequious.
Accomodating, warm, gracious staff
Roof top sauna a pleasure. Along with the tasteful breakfast, peaceful garden and location to the center.
Best Hotel that I have stayed in Europe for ever. It is good value for money. Very helpful staff, good sauna facility even with fruits and teas there! excellent DVD players and free DVD anmation titles for Kids !
Very comfortable and close to town. Room was clean, staff was very friendly. Will stay here on my next visit to Salzburg. Nothing.
welcoming and friendly with very good breakfast
The room was warm and cosy. The dining room has a very pleasant ambience. The breakfast was wonderful, and the staff were very, very warm and helpful.
The style of the hotel is clean and minimal but with touches of Austrian luxury and design. Though our bathroom was tight, the fixtures were high quality. We appreciated the free wi-fi, the well-stocked mini-bar, the extremely helpful desk and bar... oh and the breakfast buffet was lovely with fresh juices and the full array of goodies. Big thumbs up. The street in front of the hotel is traffic busy, obviously a city hotel can't help that, but a short walk around the block brings you to a pedestrian area and only 10 minutes from the old town center.
The location was excellent, room was nice and comfortable, good parking and free mini bar in the hall was brilliant! Pillows were horrendous!!!!
Clean comfortable and friendly, 5 minutes from train station and shopping centre, and short taxi ride to old town, and countryside/mountains
standard mercure hotel with good staff. Well positioned for short walk to Salzburg centre
The hotel did not have air-conditioner. After having paid 112 euros for a double room, the least you expect is to be able to regulate the temperature. The receptionist was rude enough to ask me to open the window, it was so noisy after that with people and vehicles moving about. Will not stay in this chain of hotels again.
Clean, basic hotel. Noisy, very noisy outside. As it was very hot and without the aircon we had to leave the windows open. People shouting at 3 in the morning, guy fixing his car engine right outside the hotel. What sounded like formula 1 race all the time.
Clean room, nice staff, very safe. There is no supermarkt nearby. We have to buy drinking water from the city.
The staff of reception is friendly and helpful. The hotel does not provide wifi in free. We need to use the only computer located in the lobby which is served for the whole hotel and always is occupied by other guests. On the other hand, the hotel did not provide air-conditioning system. Although a window can be opened for fresh air, it is very noisy in the morining. The sound was mainly come from that the hotel staff loaded the materials from the trucks, the rubbish truck collected the rubbish and the staff cleaned the leaves by using the leaf blower. This make us hard to sleep well in the morning.
Convenient to the public transport system - 100 metres.
Walking distance to Central Train station and other major attractions. Unable to check-in at 12pm. Have to wait till 2:30pm.
The breakfast choice was amazing. We were impressed with the reception staff, especially Jennifer Eggert.
The bed was ok, the room was ok also. The area where the hotel is situated is very poor, there is nothing around but gas stations. The price is so exprensive for a hotel wich is not in the city at all.
Good location,with exellent service.
Nice hotel, friendly staff. I booked my room 7 months before my visit. When I came to the hotel, my booking was not in the system. Disappeared!! Good I brought with me the confirmation from booking.com, so I did´nt stand without a hotel room in a full booked city. The nice woman in the lobby did an excellent job, and found me a room for the first night in a hotel across the street, the second night I stayed in Holiday Inn.. But I wonder, how could this happend?? How to trust Booking.com after this??? Holiday Inn did an excellent job.. There should not be free internet in the lobby. It was occupied by children all the time for nearly 2 days the time I visited the hotel. Maybe some guests should hire a nanny?
breakfast selection is excellent. staff very courteous and friendly.
Exellent breakfast; super location; considerate staff; good bed I missed the minibar
The designe of hotel, easy accest to the city center and good location, easy acces from the high way Pls put mini bar in room, and little bit more of shampoos in bathroom.
the staff for their help and informations breakfast lack of minibar trainee staff or clumsy staff ? amenities, slippers, bathrobe all missing in a new 4* hotel? tv channels most german - other languages missing (Es, It, Fr) what was the difference from single to double room? towels? i did not see the value of the double reflected....
Nice service, confinient room, good price quality level. Everything was OK.
Convenient location NA
The service Incredibly small rooms
Sacher Hotel, location is perfect for touring Altstadt Salzburg. Junior suite was impeccable, and well furnished, entire staff most friendly and helpful, and service worthy of a five star boutique hotel. Absolutely, nothing.
The location and the friendliness of the hotel staff. The rooms were quite dusty and old. In fact, we came to know (from the management) that only some rooms were renovated and not all unlike what was stated in the booking.com website. On the other hand, the breakfast buffet wasn't really a 5-star hotel standard.
always available, always ready to assist rooms are small and it is always a fight to get a room with a view
Wonderful vue, large room with a pleasant balcony, very kind and attentive staff, good restaurant. One of the best hotel I've ever stayed
The ambiance and the location The old bathroom, quite unconfortable
Mr. Reinhold helped us get amazing ticket to the symphony the day of the show. He was thoughtful in organizing a private tour and directing us around the city so that we didn't waste time or miss the hidden gems. Truly exceptional service!
Hotel is conveniently located for festival goers. Facility is old and room small.
The Hotel Sacher was a charming hotel with an interesting history. We did lots of walking and It was conveniently located to shopping, site seeing and restaurants. The staff was great and very helpful during our stay. In the evenings we enjoyed having cocktails in the bar while listening to pianist play. The Hotel Sacher is a great place to stay!!

The staff were very courteous and spoke numerous languages so it made communications easy. Also, they were very discreet and extremely helpful with any issues and questions about the surrounding areas. The view from my room were spectacular!!! Quiet, romantic, and close to downtown historical Salzburg. Nothing were wrong.
Centrally Located close to Old Town and Railway Station
Bistro Bar Unfortunatly just a little quiet. But we assumed that it was because its out of the main season.Prehaps you could offer special return deals to anyone who has used the hotel for holiday breaks
Great location, quiet and relaxing. Room was very nice and did get an upgrade as it was my birthday. My girlfriend contacted the hotel in advance of our stay to organise a surprise cake and bubbly on arrival as a surprise. The hotel forgot this and she was really upset as she had to speak to the hotel and then the receptionist did not even apologise despite acknowledging it was their mistake. Despite cancelling it - the cake and bubbly was there when we returned to our room, but warm and by then we didn't want it - we were still charged for it!! This did take the edge off our stay unfortunately.
location in city centre, value for money, cleanliness of room staff was friendly but not very effective. there was a queue at the checkout, which prompted me to leave without getting a receipt, whcih I had to request by phone after the stay
Very, very friendly, informative and helpful staff throughout the hotel. From check-in, at the restaurants, the Concierge - their friendly, helpful attitudes will bring me back.
The hotel staff were extremely professional and very helpful. The rooms were fabulous. We enjoyed our stay very much and would return again. no complaints at all. Everything was wonderful
The staff in the Sheraton Hotel were excelent. They all had excellent English and knowledge of the area which made our stay more enjoyable and memorable. Only fault I had was I thought I had booked a Double room however when we got to the room It was a Twin. Would advise people to ensure on Check in the room u get is what u booked.
Central to old town, and staff were very friendly and helpful
The 'creature comforts' make all the difference, but a hotel is nothing without it's staff and in this case they were fantastic. That there was not a No Smoking area in the main communal areas.
The location was perfect for getting into the city centre and it was easliy reached from the train station. The friendliness of the staff and the extras like the spa swimming pool etc was most appreciated. It was the smallest shower that I have had in two months in Europe.
great location, friendly staff and clean room the romantic suite is a bit, well lets say, strange decorated ...
The staff and spa Rooms a little austere and as mentioned above, the hotel has two buildings opposite each other and we were not in the main building.
Great location within easy walk of the city center. The spa facilities were nice. Great modern bathroom & lots of storage. Couch used for extra bed was uncomfortably hard. No restaurant in the hotel itself, but many close by.
The location of the hotel. Also the breakfast was very rich. They did not mention about the Annex building. Another disadvantage was the lack of lift in the building.
Excellent rooms for a very good price - large, elegant and comfortable. Phenomenal included breakfast and friendly, responsive staff. Easy walking distance to the old city; located on a quiet pedestrian street. No complaints
Excellent location, friendly staff, nice "room" ("split" into 2 floors). Bed/Couch in a living room is not very comfortable for sleeping was not in a very good shape therefore I felt pain in my back in the morning.
central location- good breakfast, comfortable room, well fitted. the weather was not hot, but I imagine the room would be in hot weather. Inevitably with a central city location, early morning noise- no air conditioning, so need to keep the windows open
Swimming pool. Afternoon tea. No doors on showers by swimming pool. Too hot at night.
Good location, very good breakfast! The garage for the car a bit far from the hotel, the general looks of the hotel: it needs to be refurbished! Highly over rated! The single room was almost impossible..it felt like you were in a basement!
Business trip to Munich
Good location. Toilet is immaculate. Single room is small
Location was a important factor. Love the decor too!
Everything, staff were so welcoming and made us feel special and individual which was much appreciated as this was our honeymoon. Yes - it was extremely smoky and very warm
The service was impeccable and the room was spacious
location near the center
Old world charm, historic building, beautifully maintained, elegant, extremely delightful staff, wonderful restaurant, terrific bathrooms. Absolutely nothing to dislike about this lovely hotel.
It starts with the concierge taking care of your car and luggage, the girl at the reception brings you to your room and gives you info about city and map before you can ask, really very good service. Beds are very comfortable and the room was in authentic style which fits with the rest of the hotel
Wonderful sevice. Beautiful room. Excellent location. One of best hotels I have ever stayed in.
Friendly staff, excellent location, comfortable rooms it didn't have a spa. the furniture was a bit worn
A good hotel. Good size rooms and excellent shower. Close to train station and easy walk to old town.
we stayed for one night. everythink was ok.
Rooms were comfortable - beds were very comfortable. The shower & toilet facilities were in the room but separated by a door, improving noise reduction. Breakfast was typical European, but a wide selection & generous. It's fairly close to old town Salzburg, walkable but a stretch with smaller children; the hotel is close to bus lines, though. Traveling with a family of 6 - 3 adults and 3 children - caused us to be creative with our sleeping arrangements, even with triple rooms. The staff very thoughtfully put us next to one another, though, which made it much easier.
the rooms were very nice, large and soundproof.
We have many many nice things to say about the Achat Plaza....Good location between train station and old town.....spacious room.....very modern bathroom.....air conditioning (every day we were there was over 90F)...good selection at breakfast.....very helpful staff.....free bottle of water at welcome.....free wifi.....excellent restaurant for dinner......nice lounge area with comfy furniture.....easy access to the bus lines.....nice exercise/sauna room on top floor (didn't actually use it- all of Salzburg was a sauna while we were there)......very nice running route if you're a runner, through a beautiful park and back along a pedestrian walkway by the river.... No complaints at all- the Achat was really a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it. It was obvious that this is a well cared for hotel that values the comfort of its guests.
Quiet and clear room, but pricey.Breakfast is poor for12euro. The receptionist in the evening was not welcoming at our arrival,he seemed hired from street by the hotel, not plite.we booked 2 superior double room, one room with free coffee and tea and with a kettle, the other room with nothing,I have go downstairs to ask for the kettle. The next day there was still no coffee and tea.In spa area,no spa at all, only sauna, and I can not call the palce for children a play ground, there was really nothing,so they are just misleading.Highly not recommed, for sure will not stay there again.
relaxed and very comfortable
Some bathrooms have leaking problems. My brother's room had some yellow liquid leaked into his bath. It was really disgusting.
The hotel was located within walking distance of bus routes. We had problems with stairs to access our room which is not helpful to an elderly person who uses a cane. The restaurant was smokey;the food was good. Our bed fell apart ......
The warm hospitality shown both by the reception staff and the Breakfast Room. The House Keeping was meticulously done. The inputs/suggestions given by the reception staff was very useful in making our stay a pleasant one at Salzburg.
Great room. Great Breakfast
comfort of the bed
Central Location More infromation on parking would have been helpful
The hotel position to all the things needed to see in Salzburg, was EXCELLENT !! Need to have a choice of pillows and duvets (my Daughter is allergic to feathers !!!!!!! (You did change them, but polyester duvet, very thin!)
Based in the centre of Salzberg it was easy to get around. Some noise early in the morning. The church bells tend to wake you early if you want a lie in. Our room was not the cleanest I've been in. Holes in the wall above bed tend to make us think this was not well looked after. Dirt around the bed area and carpet.
I loved the room. It wqas very romantic and it was a great deal for our money. I also loved the location, it was right in the heart of salzburg. The only thing we did not like was that it was rather stuffy. The window let to square, meaning there building surrounding the window and enclosing from getting any fresh air. The air condition did not cool off the room at night, so we got rather warm and could not sleep that well.
We were a party of five adults and everyone of us was delighted with this hotel. It had a great warmth about it from the moment you step though the front door and are greeted, in excellent English, by the people in the reception area. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable, they are another indicator of the pride the owners take in their lovely hotel. The time and help they are prepared to give you is another. Its location is just perfect if you wish to stroll around the beautifull city of Salzburg, it is on the door step. Breakfast was excellent.
Location , Free internet access
The location was perfect. The staff were very helpful & friendly would recomend
The room was lovely, spacious and better than expected. The reception personnel were extremely helpful and courteous. The bacon served at breakfast was underdone and chewy, should be crisp.
The staff were very helpful and the location was excellent It was very accomodating
This is a very nice hotel that is within walking distance of the train station and sights in Salzburg. It is lovely and I would recommend it. No fan or air conditioning. The room was quite warm.
The staff were wonderful and very helpful. It was way overpriced for what it offered and its location. The rooms were worn and old, there was no in-room safe or refrigerator, no sattelite TV, and the entrance was poorly designed and most inconvenient (had to go up a flight of stairs with luggage). Not handicap accessible at all
Markus Sittikus is a very cozy, charming and friendly hotel near the Mirabell Garden in Salzburg. Nice boutique rooms, good value for the price. It was a bit of an inconvenience to not have a desk attendant at night, as I arrived after 10pm. I was redirected to the front desk at a sister hotel a few blocks away. Beyond that, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Quiet secluded location. Large comfortable room. Internet enabled PC available to guests in hotel conference room which was free of charge. Excellent breakfast. Easy walk to the old and new town. Just a few minutes walk to the Mirabell Gardens. No air conditioning but a much appreciated fan was provided. Only German speaking channels available on the TV. When going to the hotel bar there was no permanent bar staff present. A receptionist came to the rescue each time to provide drinks.
Breakfast, selection, environment and staff were very obliging and quick with service I would have liked to relax in bar or a non-smoking environment as I am sensitive to cigarette smoke. But I accept Prague is not a smoke free environment. Cig smoke smell did seep under the door but I managed well and I did enjoy my stay.
My wife and I had never been to Salzburg but chose Hotel Markus Sittikus based on its location and price. Overall we were very pleased with our choice. The price was one of the most reasonable we were able to find in central Salzburg, and we felt the combination of price and location was just right for us. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the Salzburg Altstadt (old town) but it is a very easy route along a main road to get there. We had tons of questions when we first arrived and the front desk staff was extremely helpful and polite. The hotel is a representative for Panorama Tours (the main provider in town), and they will book the tours and make arrangements for you, which was also very convenient. The breakfast service provided by the hotel is somewhat pricey but is one of the best european-style continental breakfasts I have ever had, with a great selection of fresh breads, cold cuts, cheeses, vegetables, and delicious spreads. Great fresh-ground coffee tops it off. Finally, due to the Syrian refugee crisis there were no trains leaving from the Salzburg Hbf for Germany, so the hotel staff arranged a taxi to take us across the border to Freilassing, Germany where we caught a train to Munich. They even negotiated a fixed price for us so we would not get overcharged due to the heavy traffic at the border. Overall we were very pleased with this hotel and would definitely stay there again. The only downside to the hotel is that the interior and rooms seem to be a little bit dated. The lobby, sitting room, and other communal areas were comfortable but could really use some updates. The bedroom was also comfortable but felt like it hadn't been updated since the '90's.
Very helpful staff and convenient to train station
Clean, staff very helpful, 10 min to walk to everything, breakfast really really good. Parking was a down side but hotel has an agreement with a parking garage down the street to park at a discount.
very clean and efficient, close to main train station, friendly and helpful staff
The location is good. The price-quality ratio is good. The only problem was to find a parking lot. The hotel staff gave us instructions on street parking, howerver, and after driving around some 5-10 min the problem was solved.
Close enough to walk to/from the train station with luggage, and able to walk throughout the aldstadt easily. The room size was generous by european standards. Our room's decor was dated but everything was clean and worked just fine
Friendly and helpful staff. Cosy rooms and building; vry celan; funny little plastic ducks ! Excellent breackfast buffet; computer with internet access in a comfortable rest room, excellent location (10 min walk from historical city center and train station); peacefull surroundings (no car noise); view to a small inner garden... just some problems of insonorization between the rooms
Great location - easy to walk to everything.
The location is excellent, very central. The hotel is located on commercial street of the city, an area with restricted car access. Consequently, I lost at least 30 minutes trying to identify the address where I could not reach by car. Finally I called the hotel and they indicate me a different address for car navigation and so I got behind the hotel. Then I realized that the hotel has no parking and I was sent to a public parking (relatively close to ~ 200 meters). A very unpleasant experience, amplified by the fact that rain in that day and walk with luggage from the public parking to the hotel it was not the favorite part of a holliday day.
The staff was very friendly. The hotel is on a cute street in Salzburg, very close to shops, restaurants, and tourist sites. We would definitely stay here again!
This is a fantastic hotel! If you like antiques in your room and helpful staff attentiveness, this is the place to stay. The restraint is fantastic. Don't go to it if you want new fusion type food. The menu is very traditional. Each meal was prepared as if your Gran muter was in the kitchen herself. ( I don't know the German word for grand mother, I'm just guessing.) My wife couldn't have been happier with the stay. Comforters- I tend to be a little warm. The big down comforters were a little to warm for me.
Outstanding hotel - staff were efficient and friendly as well as thoughtful. Room was full of character and exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere of the 600 year old hotel was fascinating. We ate room service food which was excellent - we were able to pick locally popular dishes as well as the usual chioces on Hotel Room Service menus. Parking was not convenient by the hotel, but the hotel took care of it all with free valet parking, so this was not a major issue.
Restaurant was good but too pricy. For the rest, excellent stay!
Wonderful staff and perfect location The carpet, TV stand, small sofa and small table and chairs felt a bit cheap and out of place with the rest of the hotel
charming small hotel in centre of town very noisy at night
Hotel Goldener Hirsch had all the promised alpine charm of a 700-year old hotel. The decor was quaint and we received a free two-level upgrade on our room. Very spacious as a result. Staff was remarkably courteous. A bit expensive for the included amenities, and the old world charm means some amenities are missing or outdated.
Excellent location, very professional and helpful staff.I also liked the rustique room not lacking modern amenities.I would advise more English TV programs.
The location of the hotel. We enjoyed staying in the 'old' part of Salzburg.
Mixture between traditional austrian style and luxury Nothing to complain
