The location can't be beat! It is right by the JR line and makes it easy for navigating the city and having a base to get back to before going out and exploring more! The staff was extremely nice and attentive and spoke relative good English. It was a bit dusty in certain places, also the bed was very hard.
very clean and cozy hotel, convenient location
Hotel location is close to Kyoto train station and the new Aeon Shopping Mall. The mattress is as firm as it gets. I had difficulty sleeping on my side or back. The hotel configuration is not suitable if your room is situated far from the elevator. It seems the elevator is at one end of hotel and our room at the opposite end. Hotel is U-shaped and we walked liked 200 meters to the elevators.
Convenient location to Tokyo station and airport bus right at the entrance to the hotel. I wish there could be more hanging hooks for towels/clothes in the bathroom. Having only one is not as functional for two people in the room.
The location was excellent. The staff were immaculately groomed and dressed. All staff were very polite. We especially want to praise the door-man who greeted us in such a friendly manner each day with a bow and a smile and a few words in English. The rooms were kept very well.
The room was clean. The staff was friendly and efficient. The breakfast ladies were great. The breakfast picked veggies were great. Many buses stop right in front of the hotel and the $5 day pass pays for itself with one round trip. On the 5th floor and up there can be a view of pagoda shrine on the west side. It's a walk from the train station but doable. For the cheaper price, it's worth considering. I did not try the bathing rooms. I had nasal sensory overload at this hotel. Between the smoking room right by the front desk (where one leaves the key), cleaning products in the elevator, chemically personal products and room that smelled whenever we ran the ac and fogged up otherwise, it was too much. The exhaust from the buses would come in when we opened the window on the street side. Definitely cheaper products are used here.
Staff was very helpful despite the language difference. There is access to kitchen facilities and washer and dryer. It was nice to receive fresh towels daily. It's not as centrally located. Also, it was difficult not being able to bring your suitcase into the room - the alcove was really small.
Upon checking-in, the owner recommended the best transport (telling us the bus number and the fare, which train station to get off, etc) to take to go to the area of our interests. He even tells us other in-places that we should visit and when certain shops are close for us to prepare ourselves. A very friendly and helpful fellow !! My family is tall and big in size....so the tatami room is small for us. We did not mind since it is only one night stay.
Just about the only thing this hotel had going for it was its location, within a 10-minute walk of the main railway station On arrival we discovered that we were unable to pay using a credit card unless we went to the sister hotel to do so (not much fun at 10pm, with luggage, tired after a 12-hour flight and 4-hour train journey), although we had been able to book using a credit card. The bedding in the room did not appear to be clean and the futon was extremely thin. The room for breakfast was also used for washing and cleaning teeth by guests staying in an adjacent dorm-type room, which was somewhat off-putting
The inn seems to be run and managed by family members who live and stay just behind the front desk. The staff was very friendly and gave us more pointers on where and how to get around Kyoto. He also told us where to get cheap tempura and 100yen shop.
there was no handwash in the room, and need to pay for indoor sandles.
Excellent location. Only a few minutes' walk from Kyoto railway station. The hotel goes to great lengths to cater for international travellers. The hotel staff know what information tourists need. City bus day pass and maps available at reception. English TV channels, e.g. BBC, movies. Of the 4 hotels we stayed at in Japan, this is the only one which offers wireless internet for customers. The rest all had wired connections. Clean, though a bit old. Room serviced daily, which many higher rated hotels don't do. No bed. You sleep on the floor with a thin mattress, though still comfortable. Wafer thin walls. Very small bathroom. This is 1 or 2-star, like a double room in a backpackers' hostel. May not be for everyone.
Proximity to station, relatively good value for money compared to other Kyoto hotels, very basic accomodation walls are extremely thin so not good if you are a light sleeper! had no problem personally though.
Proximity to Kyoto Station and Limousine coach stop from Kansai Airport. Uncomfortable - very small room - no curtains to block out street lights - very thin walls between rooms - no communal space to sit - front foyer very small for checking in and out and removing shoes - disinterested staff - very thin towels - no toiletries provided - recommend you consider an alternative.
Only the location is OK,though got lost because there are no details shown in the map provided by the hotel via Booking.com. Very dirty!!! No cleaning before I checked in. The room is full of dust and hair. The pillows, bedsheets, and comforters are very very old and dirty. Had a terrible time going thru it. Lucky enough to stay only one day.
Location Owner , Room , Toilet , Equipment , Wifi for Internet , Clean , Clean's Bed, etc.
Hotel located close to the station, clean room, silent ventilation. I booked one room for 2 nights, but I remained 3. English name of the hotel is written above the entrance, but this part of the building is not visible from the station. Adding the hotel name at the top of the building could help.
