Very very clean and location was really really nice for the price The bed was a bit too stiff for my fiancé and I
Staff was great. Room was ok, but good for the money. Could use an update.
Housekeeping did a good job of room cleaning each day. Relatively quiet. Good view off of balcony. Staff was courteous. Odd smell in hallway on 5th floor
Friendly and very helpful staff. Nice hotel. Little old. Rooms need to be updated.
The staff were wonderful to work with. The fresh baked cookies and hot breakfast in the morning were a nice touch. They weren't the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, but good enough.
Staff helpfulness n breakfast n friendless
Very satisfying visit. No complaints about anything.Would definitely stay again.
The strengths of the hotel were the excellent service. By that I mean the staff was Very friendly, courteous and always willing to help where possible. The room was also furnished with modern furniture, it was clean and had everything I needed in the kitchen. The internet speeds were also very good. I was getting over 12 Mbps download and over 4 upload. On the flip side, I found the hotel noisy. When someone walked on the floor above us, our room would shake. Also our breaker kept blowing when the microwave was in use ( I am sure this is not normally the case though).
Nice and affordable, especially, My son likes Free rental DVD service
This was our second stay at Candlewood. The rooms are very clean, nice decor, bed was comfortable. Friendly staff. Close to everything. Great Stay.
We rented the King Suite as we were travelling with our 2 yr old and 19 year old daughter. Our one and ONLY complaint on the hotel was that the air conditioning setup was a unit in the living area and a very pathetic pass thru fan into the bedroom. So with this setup our kids froze and we were too hot. If we opened the door the temp evened out, but we got the suite with the bedroom to have some privacy.
A good clean hotel with friendly customer service.
My wife and I were looking for a 3 - 3 1/2 star hotel that would allow our 1 1/2 years old golden retriever/lab mix. If you are looking to stay at a nicer hotel with a larger dog in the Hot Springs area, then I would strongly recommend this hotel. The rooms come with a fully stocked kitchenette so that you can fix your own food (and refridgerate it) if you want. The beds are pretty comfortable and the bathrooms are clean. There is even a nice patio out back overlooking the pool. The only drawback to the hotel is that they do not serve any kind of breakfast whatsoever. The only thing you're going to find is pre-packaged stuff at the lobby's convenience store that come with the typically inflated hotel prices. From what I understand, the breakfast situation is a standard thing for Candlewood Suites. You are, however, charged about 10 dollars less per night than a comparable room due to the lack of food. So go to a closely located restaurant and spend your money on breakfast there. That o...
My husband, toddler and I made a quick stop in Hot Springs to eat at McClards while on a road trip. Our hotel stay wasn't great as we expected. We arrived late, during a shift change; I know this because the staff member who eventually checked me in, informed me that he was trying to leave for the night. We had a queen sized bed, but only one nightstand which is always difficult on a couple who both wear glasses. There was only one bath towel in the room as well, so maybe the expect a queen bed to be a single. We knew in advance that the hotel does not provide portable cribs, and there was enough room for the one we brought. All night long, we listened to the freezer, on the full sized refrigerator, make noise - I assume the ice maker given the only ice makers on premises are the ones in room. We were on the first floor and heard everyone walking through the parking lot in the morning, as well as the car alarm that kept going off. We did not hear much noise from inside the hotel, howev...
This hotel was very clean! We had a studio suite and it was plenty big enough for the two of us! We did not use any of the cooking appliances, but they looked new. The bed was very comfortable too. Was close to the racetrack, we walked. Even though there was no breakfast at this hotel, there were several options close by. Overall a fantastic stay!!!
Hotel, room and bed were great. Staff, however, was rude and condescending. I could hear them talking about other customers in a rather negative light while there were quite a few of us in the lobby. I understand that, in any workplace, you're going to have complaints about the people you deal with. You shouldn't, however, let those people (or other customers) hear about it, though.
THE ROOMS COME WITH MIN KITCHENS & WERE CLEAN. THE LOCATION IS ON THE MAIN STREET OF TOWN & JUST OUT OF THE MAIN DOWNTOWN AREA. HAD VIDEO'S TO RENT WITH A BUMPER CARS/GAMES CENTER RIGHT NEXT DOOR FOR THE CHILDREN. WILL CHECK OUT CANDLEWOOD SUITES AGAIN!
This hotel was a great place in a great location. The only knock I give it is that it was noisy. Not people running down the hall noisy, but built in such a way that one could hear people in the hall and above you and beside you... Other than that it was great and I would stay there again.
The bed I my room was clean and comfortable. It was extremely affordable. The breakfast was ok. The staff were all very nice and attentive. Bathroom needs serious updating.
Rooms were very comfortable and everything in the room worked. We enjoyed having regular and decaf coffee in the room. Beds were comfortable and we had a great sleep. Breakfast was very good too! The fridge was a little noisy but we turned it off for the night so we could sleep. Not a big deal.
The second room was clean I wanted a king non smoking and got a smoking. My wife arrived before I did and asked for a non smoking room. The front clerk was very rude and told her there was mothing availible. When she got to the room was dirty. It had trash next to the bed, a tear in the sofa and the walls had a gross yellowish tint on them. She called the front desk to complain and miracuasly there was a king non smoking availible. Not good customer service. I will never stay there again.
House keeping just left a note that they wouldn't clean our room because of personal items. Kind of hard to stay in a place without personal items.
The building was in disrepair. The beds were antiquated and worn out. The hotel had a dingy unpleasant feeling about it. The staff acted as if they were confused and did not know what they were doing. I tried to twice to make a reservation at the spa and both times I stood in the door and was ignored by the receptionist, staff, and what appeared to be part of the manager staff as they were complaining about other employees. We felt unsafe and uncomfortable during our stay and cancelled our second night reservation.
It was cheap and close to where I needed to be 1. They didn't process my payment correctly. Twice 2. They didn't clean the room. Twice 3. They left trash out when they did clean. 4. The staff didn't know how to use their own cable which did not match their guide, and they knew it didn't match. 5. The patio light didn't work. 6. The hallways smelled like old tobacco. 7. Hot/Cold Water was not reliable.
Great location and staff The central heat and air in the rooms was sub par at best
I liked that it was on the main strip and within walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Ok, Im usually pretty passive about some things, but It was pretty dirty. My one year would walk around the hotel room barefoot and within 5mins, his feet were black on the bottom because it was so dirty. The air conditioning is from like the forties lol (Its just old). The caulking in the shower was coming off. Balcony was dirty and the chairs on the porch were falling apart. I had Clorox wipes and wiped all the surfaces off and they were all dusty it a few things stuck on them. They used extension cords to plug in lights. They don't have cribs. They dont have refrigerators and microwaves in every room. Just old and dingy. Creepy back ally. The staff were less than excited to be there nor were they eager to accomodate you. Not for family with little kids. It was ok in the end. We made it work. But probably wont stay there again. But, I'm not sure if I can complain for $35/night.
Location, and proximity to all restaurants and shops. Vintage feel of rooms.
I liked the location The beds were too small for doubles. The rooms and hotel over all need some updates.
The breakfast was good even without biscuits and gravy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is convenient - an easy turn in at the light on Central Avenue. I have no idea why hotels in the United States use these heavy bed spreads that combine a blanket with the top sheet. This is a european tradition that is unnecessary with a heated and cooled room. Hampton Inn - save yourself some money and do away with them! Replace them with a medium weight blanket. The furniture in the dining area is too heavy. The large chairs in front of the TV are too big, too heavy, too hard and uncomfortable. Get rid of them! Please! People behind them can't see the TV when sitting down.
Great location and excellent staff. There is a definite attempt to keep the hotel as historic as possible. The price is good for the location. Attempts to update the historic building are limited to cheap, visible, hardware-store updates and legitimately dated, simple furniture. The overall experience seems like they haven't put $4 into the place in a decade.
The area was great The room overall was disappointing
Location Nice old building Pleasant front desk staff Confederate-themed displays Bars/Restaurant not open during posted times Air conditioner didn't work very well Super old TV
The staff was very friendly and everything was well kept and clean The drive way to the hotel is very hard to find the first time and a little steep. Also, the breakfast was definitely not the greatest.
The room was great and for a great price! It was very comfortable, clean, and had a great view! The downstairs area was great, I loved the fireplace in the lobby and the eating area. The pool was awesome, and the complimentary breakfast was good! I wish the breakfast had bacon! That would have made my day!
Comfortable bed, ample parking, clean, polite staff Shower didn't drain properly, but they promptly fixed it. A/c was loud.
Friendly, helpful staff, decent location, cleanliness, decent breakfast options. Pool water was very warm, almost like a hot tub.
The hotel was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was tasty for a continental breakfast. Overall a nice place to stay. You could hear people talking through the walls at night
The attentive and courteous staff rivals that of a cruise ship. I have stayed at the Embassy Suites in Hot Spings twice in the last four months and each time I was made to feel special by every member of the staff. The Hot Springs Embassy Suites should be a template for the Hilton chain on how to cater to guests. Yes, I had to eventually leave!!!
Awesome hotel near Hot Springs National Park! The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
They breakfast was great, the staff was on point. & that spa was much needed.
The desk employees were great and very helpful. The cleaning staff never picked up the trash cans, never made the beds or cleaned the room. It was never swepted either. I was there almost a week. We were given anything we needed like extra coffee, bath towels and other items. But we had to dump our own
nothing it was horible no
I saw no evidence of bedbugs. Also, the location is great, just outside Hot Springs. There were towels, but no soap or shampoo provided. I had 1/2 a roll of toilet paper for a 3-day stay. AC would not shut off - had to be unplugged. Coffee maker did not work and there was no smoke alarm in the room.
Staff Not teally

nothing, not as it was advertised. Gross overstatement on the quality. Looks like a slum from a third world country. The window curtains looked like schrapnel went thru them. Tub porcelain was chipped, Carpet had lumpy padding, looked like had under it. The breakfast was just bisquits and gravy, bisquits were hard as rocks. no plates, no silverware, only plastic ware.
The location was the best thing about this hotel...practically right next to magic springs. This property needs to be updated badly.Very disappointed that the pool was not even open. The stairs were so rusted that there are actual holes in the stairs...this is definitely a hazard as someone could fall and cut theirselves badly on the rusty metal.
the people were super food rooms were musty smelling
It was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed at. DO NOT stay here

It was cheap and close to the off-road park. When I informed the attendant about our issues with the room he seemed genuinely surprised and took good notes. Virtually no hot watter from the bathtub. Ceiling leaked. To be fair I did report them as we were checking out ( noticed water in middle of night- too late to deal with it then) and they seemed to care about getting them fixed.
The staff and the breakfast I had trouble regulating the heat and AC
The personnel! Excellent service. At breakfast, marvelled at the gentleman and lady with their attention to the details and taking care of everyone. Even though a few people were being a little rude to them. Great people, great stay, great pizza nearby!! Not really. It's better to look at all the positives. There are a lot!

Location was good. About midway between the National Park area and the shopping areas. Directly across the street from Oaklawn Racing and Gaming. Older facility that needs updating. That being said it was clean and check-in staff was friendly.
Great breakfast room and the hostess was very helpful and friendly. Saw a roach going up the wall
Clean hotel in a desirable location with a hot breakfast. For the price, there are no downsides to this hotel.
Nothing best. I do not understand why their name is 'Best' Western. They do not deserve this name. Room was not clean at all. They did not clean room properly and even did not put towels in the room. Staff and manager was not friendly.
Best service available and easily accessible No
Quick check in. Toilet did not work well..
Good location. Pretty clean. The breakfast was horrid and the clerk on duty seem to concerned about it.
The location was semi near where I needed to be Every thing else. I didn't get the room I ordered and was told there's none left and nothing the staff member could do since I ordered through this website. The staff was rude and unhelpful saying there was no manager on staff, when he was actually the manager. The room was dirty with old clothes in it. The back door didn't lock. You could hear everything nearby. The bed was rock hard.
Not one single thing We arrived with another couple and booked our rooms. The manager told us he only had one king room, so we took it and the other couple had paid for a king room online but since there were supposedly only double rooms left he then charged them extra for a double room, even though they had booked a king room. Typically if this was to happen a hotel would not charge extra. After the lengthy check in process the manager gives us the card keys and an actual door key because as he stated, "sometimes if its humid the card keys wont work". It was not humid at all, however the card keys in fact would not work. We opened the door to our room to find a trash can full of food waste. You could tell the bed had been slept in too and we could not get the key back out of the door. I went to the front desk to say something and just so happened the maid was in there and apparently the room did not get cleaned at all. So the maid would get it clean and we were to wait, the manager did come get the key out of the door. In the mean time the couple we were with went to their room to find a huge water puddle under the sink and the fire alarm beeping. They went to the manager as well and he told them he would have someone come up there and fix it all. We decided to go to dinner since we were having to wait around anyway to get into our rooms. Came back from dinner to find our room semi-clean, however upon opening the door we couldnt get the key out again. The 3rd couple that was with us arrived while we were at dinner and low and behold they were able to get a king room after we had just been told they did not have any more king rooms available. The 2nd couple checked their room to find the puddle still there and even larger and the fire alarm still beeping. We went back to the front desk and the man we had dealt with in the beginning had left and the night manager was there. We told him our key still would not come out of the door and the 2nd couple inquired about why they couldnt have a king room and if they could move since nothing had been fixed and obviously they did still have king rooms. He told them that the manager had told him NOT to move them under any circumstance. This appauled us all, we've never been trested that way at a motel before, usually if something happens to be wrong or there is a problem they want to make it right. The man then came down and showed my husband how to get the key out of the door. You have to stick your finger in a little hole on the door and hold the lock then giggle it the right way while holding your tongue and hope that it works. Needless to say we did not stay, we went and turned in our key and just drove home. That place is disgusting and just plain nasty. Next time we will just spend an extra 25 dollars and stay somewhere where we wont be afraid to touch anything. The manager was so rude and just not helpful at all. Terrible experience!his place really needs to go ahead and shut their doors.
Old dirty not well maintained motel.
The room/hotel was new and overall very clean. The free breakfast was very nice, far better than the majority of free hotel breakfasts. Found a towel from a previous guest that the cleaning service did not.
I liked that the facility was so new. The showers drained slow. Surprisingly, I stood ankle deep in a brand new bathroom.
Its not a 3 star hotel. Beds were wore out.Tolet was broke in our room . management was rude.
Room was comfortable and had everything a hotel room should. Very clean and easy access. I need to note that we don't spend our time in a hotel room while on holiday. We use it to sleep and to get ready for each big day. Design of the room left the bathroom very small. The bathtub was only 4' not a standard 5'. Again good value for the money.
location Rude staff
I was here under a group reservation. The rooms were filthy-cobwebs,roaches, cigarette holes in the linens. The pictures are not even close to accurate. The TV didn't work. The only thing the remote did was change channels. The air-conditioning did not cycle through properly. I had to get up all night long to turn it on and off. The unit next to ours didn't even have a door knob. We were pre-paid through a group trip and had to stay or we would have left. The breakfast was a joke. The only nice thing about this place was the pool. There were much beter hotels blocks away. This was not even worth it as a last resort. Sleeping in the car would have been better.
I made a trip to Hot Springs for a furneral November 2006. I was going to be in town for several days. I booked it through AARP. Originally I had paid reservations for Americana Econo Inn. It was so filthy and unoccupied that I refused to stay there. When I called the Travel office the man said he would transfer my reservation to Rodeway Inn. I was told I would be very happy there. It was a very old motel with bad outside lighting. Mold on the tile in shower. The furniture was very old. I wouldn't stay there if it was free! This place should not be listed as a AARP hotel or motel.
This was the worst hotel ever. We went as a group of 21 we had 5 rooms and there was something wrong with everyones. Ours had roaches in it. The bathroom had no bath grips so I feel in shower and have a big knot on my head. The other four rooms were not clean when we got there. In my sisters room there was a water leak in the bath and the room smelt like mildew ( crap). Then they gave my sis a new room and locked her out of her old one so she couldn't get her stuff and the other room they gave her was not clean so they went up front and my sis asked for money back and that guy told her she was not getting a thing free. Then they gave them 30. back at check out which they should have got all money back. O would not refer or recommened this hotel for NOONE
This is a dirty, rundown dump of a flop house. online travel website gave it 3 stars only because they do not care enough about their customers to actually check the correctness of their statements. This hotel is owned by people from India that also maintain it. I have seen latrines that are cleaner. The room door was not secure, the beds were crap, the bathroom full of mold, paint peeling, etc., etc., etc. The color of the pool water was sewer. \n \nIf you want loud people, drinking malt liquor, smoking cigarettes and yelling until 1 am in the morning outside your 'non-smoking room' door, then this is your place. If not, spend 20 bucks more and stay in a real hotel, like a Holiday Inn Express. \nThe hotel would not even give us a receipt and said online travel website would not allow them to do so...What complete crap. \nI would post pictures if this sorry web site would allow me to do so. \nThis is the first and last time I use them for anything.
Booked Room on line . Only hotel left on the online web site in affordable range for my budget. Picture shows motel has outside door opening and did not want that but according to picture motel looked ok so I booked a room. Other rooms available at other hotels were almost $*/night. Got into town at 10 p.m. Called for directions. Motel is in oldest part of town which was scary for a woman with 2 girls with her. Drove up. The hotel picture on line is not what the hotel actually looks like. It was a dive. Curtains falling off the windows, windows scratched up looking, old, old, old. I had to rate room, service, etc. to do review but actually never went inside. I couldn't bear too. It was too seedy looking for me. I drove 1 1/2 hours before finding another hotel 60 miles away and stayed at a Holiday Inn Express which was wonderful.
Our sheets had trash in them and the bathrooms had not been cleaned. There was a used half bar of soap still in the tub and old toothpaste still in the sink. The floors had not been vaccumed and there were roaches lurking about. This place should be shut down.
We were very late getting to our room and the staff/owners were waiting at the front desk with a smile and a small gift bag. In a time when no one really cares about service the people at this hotel went above and beyond to see that we were happy and comfortable. Some of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. A beautiful pool area. This hotel is one of the great old ladies from a time past when families traveled together and stopped for the night at well known named hotels. There were a lot of empty rooms but we had the same thing at all our stopps along our 10 day road trip.Would definatly recommend this hotel .The only thing they were lacking was the breakfast. I had no problem with it but husband needs a little more than cereal and toast.
nice room alot of space and very clean. staf was very helpful for any thing you needed. i would stay here again.
we booked this motel online based on location and looks of pictures seemed to be ok till we got there, check in was ok. front desk didnt know what they were doing lost second room. daughters room was joined her room was partly cleaned ours disaster room not cleaned asked for another didnt have any that joined had booked room over a week ahead told lady we would wait for room to be cleaned staff didnt know how to clean lady that did that was sick, told them i would clean myself if brought cleaning items and bedding they didnt know where it was either room was covered in bloody items would not refund any of the rate we were 2 hours from home on limited money bought some bleach gloves and cleaned myself flipped mattress told them at front desk would not stay again
The picture is not the actual one of the hotel. It is in an old rundown section of town that does not appear safe. It is misrepresented on the site and should be removed. It looked so bad I didn't even go inside. I couldn't write to you if I didn't state room, comfort, etc was all terrible but I didn't even go inside. I would have driven 7 hours back home if I had not found another place to stay. Now I will be charged with taxes and all about $* for a room because I didn't give 24 hours cancellation that first night. How do I go about getting my money back?
the rooms are old and dirty looking. Didn't feel comfortable on the beds because of cleanliness issues.Need to show if motel is american owned. Any time I have stayed in an Indian owned Motel, they always have cleanliness issues!
The room was fine for the price; however, the beds were very uncomfortable and sunk in the middle while sleeping. The shower head was terrible which made rinsing hair time consuming. The continental breakfast had very little to offer. They should invest in the self-serve waffle maker set-up. It WAS clean and the staff were decent.
