I've stayed at the Sheraton before. The location and value are great I was put off when the woman at the front desk ask me to email her my confirmation receipt upon checking in. In addition, there is a night club very close by that was in full swing until 3am. I was in town for an event and needed to get up at 5. Needless to say, I didn't sleep well.
It's a great and pleasant stay
The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning got the room nice and cold. The room was outdated and not as advertised on the website.
Close to Robson street shopping and restaurants by walking. VERY unflexible bellhops! To them the hotel guests like us, just rambling re rules and hotel laws instead of cathering to our wishes,re the luggage carts etc..seemed as if common sense did not prevail at all!
The staff were very kind For the south tower: The Lobby, the entrance and elevators were not four star at all!
Bed and bed linen were great. Movie menu never worked even though I asked twice to have it checked. I had to ask for shower caps and they arrived 2 days after my request.
The hotel is centrally placed in the city and an easy walk to most of the major locations. The employees were very helpful. The facilities were clean. The price was very reasonable as well. I would definitely stay here again. Our room in the evening must of had some young kids nearby as music was heard along with laughing and voices through the walls or possibly through the ceiling. That was the only inconvenient part of the stay.
Great hotel, location staff etc. stay here and you will have an awesome time! Aloha
The staff was pleasant and was very helpful and prompt in correcting my reservation. Telephone assistance was a little slow in response. I had to wait for 3 minutes to be transfered to the appropriate department. I don't understand why the oper could not help with simple inquiries.
The location was perfect within walking of excellent restaurants and shopping. We also enjoyed the clean spacious rooms and the comfortable beds. The live entertainment in the lounge is always makes for a nice evening. Although we were just visiting the city, our stay at the hotel made the visit better. The staff was most helpful in directing us around the city---even to the Japadog stand near Smithe St. There are no negative comments about our stay at the hotel.
the crisp clean looking bed, made you feel comfortable before you actually snuggled under the sheets. Upon arrival at the hotel approached by very friendly valets and made you feel valued.
Very helpful front desk staff, easy central location, good breakfasts
Room size. The lazy when we were checking in. She wasn't helpful at all.
Room was well equiped. Very noisy hotel. Also poor breakfast..
Great location! Complimentary breakfast is amazing. The kitchen looks a little outdated but it's such a great space for the price!
The suite was fantastic for a family of four. Used the facilities to save money by eating in rather than eating out. Very handy having two bathrooms. The breakfast could have been put out better rather than everything being in packets and cling film. The pool area was out of order due to refurbishment.
The location was good the staff were helpful and polite the room size was ideal for our purpose and any problems were soon resolved. Unfortunately during our stay we were unable to use the pool and exercise facilities advertised when we booked due to construction work being undertaken and this was a big disappointment to us as we were hoping to have a swim and relax after a busy day in the city.We felt that maybe we should have received a reduced rate for our stay as you did not provide a service you had advertised.
I loved the location and the size of the suites. The complimentary breakfast is nice, but contains too many carbs for my liking. They don't offer anything besides pastries and bagels in the morning and no protein.
Bright spacious accommodation, friendly staff Minor stuff - fridge very noisy, & extractor in bathroom started up in night & wouldn't shut down - but this seemed to be a ' one-off '
Close to sporting events and concerts, nice place to stay, shopping and eating is close! Skytrain event for adults is great The streets of Vancouver, walk to far before it cleans up, not a kids scene
The peace and quiet The scramble at the buffet breakfast
Room layout and space Poor shower set-up--shower curtain was a nuisance and let water get all over floor, bath ventilation barely effective
Location, size of room/apartment, efficiency and assistnce given by staff, flexibility to respond to specific requests.
The room was very quite, even being next to the elevators and the bedding was great. We did not use the kitchenett but it was nice. The elevators were slow and a real pain.
This hotel was conveniently located for downtown shopping. The staff was nice. The room was very efficiently laid out so it didn't feel small.
hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. the room was perfectly clean and big. air conditioning very good. everything about the place was great, breakfast especially!
It has a very excellent location in the city of Vancouver. I also liked the staff particularly at the breakfast lounge. The breakfast can stand some variation - maybe bacon or ham can be interchanged with the sausage on certain days. If you stayed for only one night, it would have been okay but we stayed for 3 nights and having the same fare for 3 mornings is a bit too much.
We had a terrible fligh, and our consierge was very accomodating, and cheered us up by going the extra mile. There was a Q-tip in my room when I arrived.
Every thing at Cascadia was pleasant, it located a few easy blocks from the main shopping areas with bus stops close by. Other guests and staff were friendly, there was a nice feeling when in the hotel. The room was very comfortable and clean, with great little kitchen, for when travelling with family who like big meals 3 times a day. The included breakfast with tariff was a great way to start the day. The breakfast times could state that the finishing time is not only for entry but when the kitchen closes.
The triple sheeting, room with kitchen facilities, excellent and co-operative desk staff, delicious, varied breakfast.
Warm, friendly, helpful welcome, Great attention to customer service. The managers reception was a nice touch. A very good breakfast included in the price. No
Room is clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff is friendly. A little bit cold at night but I think it's due to weather in general. And staff helped me very quickly when I need support for temperature.
The rooms are exceptionally well equipped. Cooker, microwave, dishwasher, crockery, glassware etc. Pull out bed. And very spacious. Staff polite and helpful. Bar has good and good value meals.
All the staff was very friendly, excellent service in bistro, great view of mountains and seaside. Was there for anniversary would go back without hesitation. The parking taxes that weren't listed, one young group of guests above our room fighting on the veranda outside until 6am,nothing was done to quiet them.
Location, room, breakfast, staff, all great
Bircok yere yurume mesafesi acısından son derece yakın oldugu ıcın konum olarak avantajlı.etrafında yemek ıcın degısık alternatıfler var. odalar temızlık acısından daha ıyılestırılebılır.odalarda valızlerıyerlestırıcek aparatlar olmalı.
yer olarak çok güzel, hayatın aktığı yerde. ulaşım kolay. her yere yakın asansörlerde tuhaf bir koku vardı birde bazı odalar yanındaki barın üzerinde ses banyodan içeri geliyor.
I was in Vancouver for one night for an early AM meeting. I had a long day of work and travel before checking in and the staff made me feel immediately welcome. My room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I regret not having more than a few hours to take advantage of this property. No cons to report
Great location. Beautiful room including living area and outdoor patio (had a fifth floor corner room with two walls of window). Incredibly efficient and friendly staff. Surprising inexpensive. There was construction going on across the street. No fault of the hotel but did make for a mixed view. Shows that the city is bustling and the concierge immediate apologized to each new guest instead of making excuses for it.
Extremely helpful, friendly and dedicated service. Unfortunately, we were in and out quickly for an early flight, but everyone was terrific in getting us checked in, fed, and out the door to the airport on time.
The room huge, staff caring, hotel conveniently located in downtown, and awesome. Busy street during day because of near by building construction but not really an issue. Still quiet in room!
n'espresso maker in room. big tub. fireplace in room. saltwater pool and hot tub open year round. awesome concierge. housekeeping noticed I'd bought a bottle of scotch and proactively left me proper highball glasses for it! not really any view
Staff was so nice, car to take us to dinner, beds very comfortable, big bathrooms, luxurious robes.
Very friendly staff, very customer oriented. Clean, nice rooms/suites. Great location right downtown. Just a little mold on the grout in the bathroom.
The staff was very professional and friendly. Very classy overall feel to the style of the hotel. Their was nothing I disliked about our stay. Would definately stay here again.
We arrived early in the morning from a cruise ship. The staff was so welcoming. We knew at 9am a room would not be available...so we went off to explore Vancouver. 30 minutes later we had a cell phone call that our beautiful room was available. I don't want to rant...on and on...so all I will say as a previous owner of a meeting planning company that needed to book high end hotels for my VIPS...this is a very classy and comfortable property at a wonderful rate. WE WILL STAY HERE OUR NEXT VISIT TO VANCOUVER. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Convenient enough. Marginally cheaper than a few other hotels in the area when booked well in advance. The people yelling in the streets could be clearly heard until the early hours of the morning, in addition to every thump and loud conversation from the surrounding rooms and hall. It was difficult to achieve a good night's rest -- and the dated bedding did not particularly aid in this effort (although the pillows were decent, at least). The old magstrip keycard readers for the room would often take multiple tries to get the lock to open, and weren't obvious when they did work on the doors, or on the elevator access in the lobby. The hotel does not appear to have had any significant updates in the past few decades, and as such the price outweighs the value.
I liked the location as it was walking distance to all I wanted to see and do. The motel was quaint and older but with charm. There were loud street bums and partiers out our window. Bummer of a night. Stay on the north side of the hotel!
Great location for a place to stay after a concert. Room was clean. Comfortable bed. Cheap. Terrible view. Got comfortable with neighbour in hotel across alley. The perfume smell off the elevator was horrible. What are they hiding?
Decent location, walked everywhere and did not need to drive in the hectic Vancouver downtown area. Cheaper than other hotels in the area. While it was downtown, it didn't quite feel safe to walk around alone at night in that area. Walk a bit further and you get to a safer area, but the hotel is surrounded by Strip Clubs and Adult entertainment stores. Also, the soundproofing was TERRIBLE and the room was tiny. We could hear the people upstairs talking at 2 am, making it impossible to sleep. Eventually we were forced to call the front desk to complain. As well, outside our room was the huge Howard Johnson neon sign. While the windows were opaque, you could still see the red glow through the cracks, illuminating the room. Overall, would not stay again or recommend.
Simple. And easy Could hear people on the floor above us and outside our door in the early morning.
Booked 2 double beds and was bumped to a single double bed for 2 guys. Not cool. Charged me an extra 20$ for a cot.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.
Has a parking lot dedicated to hotel guests. Cheap compared to others in the area. Within walking distance to many restaurants. No fridges in room. Have to pay parking fee. Power outlets hard to reach, and not near bed. Ice machine only on one floor.
Great price and proximity to everything Better coffee in rooms
Location Nickel and dimed, very slow internet, pay for parking, small room, no facilities. The motel we stayed at for 60$ a night was better in every way.
If you want to be in the heart of the clubs and pubs this is the best place to stay! N/A
Fair price, and there turned out to be parking down the street, so really not too much of a hassle after all. Good service. There's super limited parking. We arrived on Saturday, but all of their passes were given out the night before. That made it a little confusing since half their parking lot was open. Just prepare to park offsite.
great room layout for us, having a separate sleeping area. Conveniently located to get to BC Place Stadium! friendly staff and clean hotel. waiting for the elevators and walking through the front desk area to get to and from the pool.
Place seemed very clean. Staff was flexible and friendly. The price seemed to be a good value for such a large room given how expensive Vancouver is. I paid a fair amount more for a space 1/4th the size in NYC. I liked that they had a pool, jacuzzi, and exercise machines. The views were great and the rooms were very spacious- both a bedroom and living room, so good for families or small groups of friends. Great location- close to sporting arenas and an easy walk to the skytrain stations. Housekeeping was very accommodating. The large suite style rooms work well if you need to spread out for a longer trip or make room for family members. Comfortable and unpretentious. WiFi? Forget it. Didn't work at all. The friend staying with me was an IT professional who told a staff member part of what the issue was, but the staff member didn't seem to have the technical knowledge to fix it. I just gave up on it after trying many times over several days. Don't come to this hotel if you need WiFi. I was glad they had newspapers to read instead. Cable channels seemed disorganized and lacking in selection- no in-room channel guide provided. No free breakfast either; I was paying a lot for the room and this should have been included. The $60 per night place I stayed the first night I was in town did offer this, and the price for this room was much more spendy. And yes, the place was spendy, but was not modern, upscale or trendy (in the best sense of the word).
Convenience to Orpheum theatre N/A
large rooms, lots of space, great location in heart of Vancouver city
I arrived very late and left very early. The suite was great. The wake up call came in. A brief but positive experience.
I have stayed in downtown Vancouver many times. I don't know how I hadn't heard of the Rosedale before looking to book this trip online. Check in was quick and easy and they let us check in 2 hours early. The hotel is clean, the service was excellent, our requests for extra towels and coffee in the room were fulfilled literally within minutes of the requests being made. The location is amazing. We had a fabulous meal at Rosies Restaurant downstairs. We will definitely book there again next time. Make sure you put your "Do Not Disturb" sign out when you go to bed. The maid knocked on our door at 8:15 a.m. We were up...but what if we hadn't been?
Traveling with kids, it was great to have the different living spaces/sleeping areas, and the kitchen.
The bathroom was in poor shape. No water pressure and the toilet didn't flush properly. Room 1402
Location, location, location 2nd Visa charge - not too sure what it was for
We love the proximity to BC Place stadium. Yes, we had booked a room with 2 queen beds and a fold out sofa and were put in a room with only one bed and a fold out sofa. There were no other rooms so we could not change, nor was there a reduction in price. Bed was too hard for our comfort.
Room was quiet and clean We had asked for a suite with 2 bedrooms but ended up with only one bedroom and two beds
Professional hotel staff. Large and clean room. Very well located in Vancouver downtown. Highly recommended hotel.
We were looking for a place to spend our last night in Vancouver after being at a marquee hotel for a conference for a few days. The room was small but clean and comfortable, so it perfectly matched our expectations. Free wi-fi and a 20% discount at the pub downstairs were bonuses.
Very good location and good deal for the money. It might not be a good place for families being above a bar and night club and on the busiest party street in Vancouver.
This hotel was an excellent value for money one. I even got an upgrade without asking for it and don't even knowing why to a king-size room with hydro-massage bath tub. The staff was extremely helpful and willing to make one's stay pleasant and flawless. Even if some people in the reviews complain about the pub, I didn't hear anything from the second floor. Even more, the inside door linking the pub with the hotel was an advantage given the snow/rain during my stay. Complimentary breakfast was missed.
The downtown location was excellent, good price, clean, and friendly/helpful staff. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms needed some updating: a fresh coat of pain on the walls, maybe some new furniture. Everything seemed a little worn. The hotel is also right above a bar and close to several night clubs, which meant a lot of noise and light from the street at night.
The hotel room was very nice and clean. We could tell that it had been recently renovated. Free coffee in the lobby all day was a nice touch. KAYAKs site clearly stated that the parking was free but when we checked in, the hotel staff said that the parking is never free. I am currently going back and forth trying to get reimbursed for the parking that I had to pay for. Had I known that I would have had to pay for parking, I would have stayed elsewhere. Especially since the parking lot was not covered and the hotel is located in an extremely active nightclub area. I worried about my car the whole time and the management was rude to me when I tried to explain my issue.
Bed comfort, bathroom, wifi. Too much noise from the street - needs triple glazing.
Professional, helpful staff Clean room, no odours Too much noise in the small hours from Granville Street partiers Bed was too soft Small room, tight quarters
It was perfect for what we were looking for. We didn't intend to stay in the hotel for anything more than sleep, so we just wanted a clean, well-maintained hotel with a central location in downtown. It was by a wide margin the best hotel I could find in this price range. The staff was incredibly friendly and always willing to help you find where you are going. The room was small and the hotel didn't offer many extras, though that wasn't important to us anyway. The internet was far from "high speed" (about 2 Mbps at best) but for what I hear, thats about average in BC.
Staff curteous/friendly Handicapped had to enter hotel thru noisy pub
Liked Irish Pub on the first floor, clean room and convenient beds Noise from outside after party crowds, air conditioner vent faces one of the beds too directly, no refrigerator
Great service from check in to check out. An unfortunate power outage was scheduled that day I arrived, but the power went on right when I came back to the hotel (2 hours ahead of schedule). Timing was perfect. The room was beautiful and simple, with very comfortable furniture and soft sheets. I ordered room service and they were quick and the tiramisu was delicious!
It was a comfortable place for our overnight in Vancouver. Close to restaurants and skyline terminals. It was very comfortable and clean and I loved it!
In front of the stadium and right around the corner from many many restaurants, stores and sights.
Location, location, location. Close to opera house, Gastown, and great restaurants. Loved the fact that carpets have been replaced by hard flooring. Very quiet and clean. A little on the expensive side for an older hotel with few amenities, but the location is worth it and the beds are comfortable.
Location, price, comfortable room
The wireless internet connection was AWFUL despite coming included w the room. Couldn't get online and it was really difficult to connect.
Everything else was great. The fire alarm went off and we were all evacuated. The firemen came and it was a false alarm. We went back to the rooms and it went off again. We were asked to evacuate a second time but the cleaning crew told us not to pay attention and sure enough 1 minute later it stopped. The firemen came a second time and the assessment was that the equipment is outdated and needs to be updated. Kind of a crazy morning.
Loved the included bikes and steamroom It appeared that we arrived during a meal break or such as there was only one reservationist at the front desk who became overwhelmed trying to check in three groups while answering the phone, etc.
Great downtown location, within walking distance to everything The staff was, at times, short and unaccommodating. Our room key had to be replaced 3 times due to it not working in the elevator.
Great location to catch the hockey game at Rogers Area.
Trendy decor simple comfy rooms Slow elevator
Love the history of the hotel, great staff and a great location. It may be an old hotel with some cool history, but it could still do with some cleaner finishes like some new carpet and a better paint job.
Location is good. Bed was comfortable. Staff was good. I Would have given it a better rating except for: The room smelled like a 3 day old burnt cigarette. Smoking is not allowed now due to Canadian laws, but man can you tell there used to be 20 cigs a day smoked in my room. I'm an ex smoker of about 2 years, so my nose might be a little more sensitive then others. But my friends who ere staying on the floor above me said the same thing.
Location Beds are uncomfortable
Good location. If you stay on the second floor just be prepared for really loud music coming from the restaurant/bar from downstairs until about 1:00 am.
Wasn't in the room for very long...but overall it was fine. Not flashy...nothing stood out...but no complaints either. Good location. Bed was comfortable enough. Noise was not an issue. Felt safe and secure. Did not try any of the dining options location in the building...but they looked good from the outside. Value for what we paid was acceptable. Would recommend if you needed a place to stay for one night if you were attending a concert or event. Things that could be improved: Showerhead - unless you are 5 ft 2 inches....it was way to low in our room...should be placed higher. Another electrical outlet would have been nice
Location was good Hotel was generally clean Booked the "Double deluxe queen" only to find that there was only one bed and the "room type" was double. To me that is deceptive advertising and the manager made me pay an upgrade fee to get the room I thought I had booked. The elevator broke for two days while we were there The TV in our room didn't work I will not be returning and would recommend others not stay here.
Comfortable bed, easy access to everything in downtown, very near the waterfront where the cruise ships dock. .
Great cocktails at the wine bar, staff was very helpful, location was great
Some helpful staff, nice beds Inadequate security, car broken into immediately in hotel garage.
Beds were comfortable. Great for an over night stay. Couple of stains on my pillow case (looked like mascara maybe). Elevators from the parkade were down and their was a lot of construction making it difficult to navigate from the parkade with luggage.
Great location, easy check-in and check-out. VERY noisy at night - noisy guests, lots of screaming and whoo-ing from club directly across the street.
Great location. Need to use your room key to operate the elevators.
Really like close it is to events at rogers arena.
Staff were nice, however the room we ended up in, after specifying the need for a quiet room, was too loud to sleep in, even with earplugs. We will never go back there. Pay a bit more for a better hotel! Had a terrible sleep, thump thump thump all night from the Disco. Yes ALL night, it lasted until 8AM in the morning. Room 603. Thought we were high enough, we were not. Even with earplugs... thump thump thump. We will never go back there, and it's taken 2 days to recover from lack of sleep. Elevator was terrible, had to use stairs. Pop machine served water and drinks that were WARMER than room temperature. yuk
I liked nothing Definitely not worth the money the heater/fan box thing the buttons didn't work it was just cold air coming out I couldn't change it and the only way to turn it off why my unplugging it witch was dangerous for my baby it was 15.99+tax to rent a movie and there channel's were all messed up and the alarm clock was wrong ibwould j her stay there again and pay what they charge for the room
It appeared nice online, but I was gross in person.
Our room was very clean and comfortable. The location was great.
Location is great. Walkable distance to Gastown (10-15 mins), Chinatown (5-10 mins), Pacific Center shopping areas (10-15 mins), and BC Place stadium was down the block. Staff were friendly and there's a lounge on the premise. Couldn't check in until 4PM due to the hotel being fully booked the night before so they need extra time to clean on the day of before my family can check into our rooms. But in return we did getbeautiful view from our room.
Room bathrooms where a little tight.
We were very close to the Canada line for transport from YVR. Rogers Arena a close walk. This location exceeded our expectations. The elevators could use a good cleaning.
I like how easy it was to register and stay. Paying for parking as an additional cost is always a little back handed. It might be nice if they included parking as an option when making a reservation.
Billing should be given during the night prior to departure. There is no need to spend time in the early morning waiting to be done. Staff are nice people.
Location was good and staff was most helpful for our one night stay
Ramada in Seattle much better value and comfort.
good value for money,location
The location was perfect with restaurants, shopping, and clubs just down the street. The rooms were huge and very clean. Only complaint is the noise from the construction happening behind the hotel but there are earplugs provided in every room, so this was minor.
Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and well maintained. I enjoyed my stay, could of done without the snowfall earlier in the day!
I liked having a space that had a separate bedroom, and a balcony. Housekeeping walked in without knocking, when my husband was on the toilet. We had the "do not disturb" sign out. Because of my health issues, I sleep in the day often. At 7am the next morning, they knocked and tried to get in. I flipped over the latch to stop them from entering. Next day, they tried to enter again before 8am.
Very little...it was a dry roof over our heads for one evening is about all I can say. I did not like how noisy it was. We were kept up until way past 4am due to people yelling on the street below...please invest in soundproof windows!!! When I told the front staff how upset I was, they asked me what I expected?? Very poor customer service. We will never stay at this hotel ever again...
Great family room set-up if travelling with kids.
It was convenient and met our requirements such as having a microwave. It was very noisy because of the proximity of nightclubs.
I liked that the parking was underground in a secure environment. Guard and guard dog signs were posted at the entrance. I enjoyed my stay and the view of the city from my balcony was awesome. There was a lot of construction going on in front of the hotel and they started really early. Of course this is of no fault of the hotel.
The staff was really friendly, helpful and accommodating
Every aspect of the hospitality is of high level, to the minimum detail. This creates since the beginnig a pleasant sensation.
Fun, hip hotel!
The move from a noisy room! We asked for a move to a quieter room at 11pm as we were above a nightclub... this was after requesting a quite room upon booking!
Your staff were extremely pleasant, our room was very comfortable you had thought of everything to make our stay very enjoyable. I liked the fact we even had an umbrella for our rainy walks. I liked everything about the hotel and couldn't improve on anything.
In late Wed, out early Fri. So admittedly, it was very brief. I suspect I would have enjoyed the stay higher on a better floor. I was on 2, and they also have meeting rooms. So there was an extra level of crowds (more a large group) and their noise, to go along with my stay. Would only really have been an issue if I had wanted to sleep in. Which I didn't. Next time: a higher room for sure. Location was great! Staff was super friendly and helpful. I'll give it another shot for sure. Also, I didn't get a chance to check out their bar. So that may have been a big plus as well, and might have elevated the Facilities rating from OK to Good. : )
over all everything Not as soundproof as one would expect. We could hear the fellow on the phone next door.
the welcome, the very friendly, helpful staff, the ambiance in the bar, the great bathroom, the equipments in the room, (CD player with CDs, I pod player....) all these things makes a stay so much easier, as we can feel a little "at home"! no slippers in the room, a little dusty, specially on the dark wood furnitures,
compact&fuctional layout--great staff/service--central location
boutique hotel with cool feel to it. Helpful staff and located near good nightlife right in Yaletown
Perfectly located next to shops, bars and restaurants. Right across from a skytrain station so very easy to get around. Cute modern decor.
Very convenient location. Yaletown is a fabulous neighborhood.
Superb location, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Elegant setting. The 2 of the restaurant staff could be a little on the snooty side!
excellent service with large rooms, and a very good location in the middle of the city rooms are bit old, but do have large flat screens TV
The location is excellent. The service was first class. The restaurant 'Bacchus' was also excellent. I would definitely stay there again.
A truly great boutique hotel in an excellent downtown location. We usually prefer to dine out at night, but could not resist the lure of the wonderful atmosphere & superb food in house.I suspect all staff are highly trained in delivering excellent customer care & certainly they deliver it.The Wedgewood was a wonderful experience over the four nights we spent there. We would be cranks if we did !
Everything. From the most helpful and friendly staff, all of them, to the attention of waiters, bartenders, up to the Manager who stopped to chat while having breakfast. The room was large and well furnished. Not Applicable.
The room and the food. The hotel offered a free breakfast, but there was confusion with the on line booking. The offer system should be clarified. With other hotels offering a free breakfast i.e. Opus Hotel, the on line booking for the coupon was much simpler. The Hotel did honour the free breakfast.
Great bar and restaurant. friendly staff. very comfortable / luxurious rooms. windows are older not well insulated for sound. A bit noisy as it is downtown
Our room was very comfortable &the hotel location was ideal for getting around Vancouver. Meals in dining room were v expensive, especially breakfast & frankly I've had better hash browns at MacDonalds. We had a comparable breakfast at a similar hotel in Seattle that was 25% cheaper & and of better quality by far. I just hate to be taken advantage of in that way. The box of chocolates I received for staying didn't make up for poor food at an outrageous price - even if this is a luxury hotel.
Best hotel for service and ambiance in Vancouver nothing
Comfortable room and quiet floor. Nice to come back to a lovely room after a day of exploring Vancouver.
Friendly professional staff Delightful breakfast in the beautiful Bacchus lounge Spacious room with quality linens and L'Occitaine products Great value Excellent location
Amazing staff, clean, beautiful room with deck. And the most comfortable beds and bedding.
The service was impeccable from check in, to concierge, to bartender and wait staff. The lobby and public areas were beautiful as well. The room was large. The room was really run down. The carpet was old, buckling, and had stains all over and the furniture has seen its best days long ago.
I liked the location most of all! The beds were very comfortable. Loved the dog at the concierge's desk! Wonderful bath products! A bit tired looking. Needs a ceiling fan in the room! There were 4 of us staying in our room, but we NEVER had 4 towels! Each day, we had to call and ask for another towel.
Staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. My room was clean, which was most important, but it really needed updating.
The location Way overpriced compared to service and how old and outdated the rooms are. The bathtub was peeling, the hot water would go away in the sink, you had to constantly regulate it. They don't tell you ahead of time the cost of parking, which was almost $50.00 a day, otherwise I would have looked for an alternative, they just hit you with a bill dropped in front of your room door on the last day of your stay so you don't yell at them at checkout.
The staff was fantastic. The location is fabulous and close to everything you would want to do in Vancouver City Center. The hotel is a beautiful building. Vancouver is a beautiful city and the Fairmount made it even better. Very little noise for being in the heart of the city. Wi-Fi fees are a huge joke, but not exclusive to this hotel. This should not be seen as a bad comment for this hotel. It is just another way hotels are trying to make more money. If you can, try and book your stay with Wi-Fi included and ask for a discount if one is available.
Comfortable bed and allowed us to check in early and out late. We received a room that looked like it had been added in as an afterthought. Bathroom was extremely cramped and the door did not close, and the view...well if you like looking out the window and seeing a green tarp, this is the room for you. On the positive side, if you need absolute dark at all times of day, it would be perfect.
Very nice room, staff and facilities. Loved the pool and gym The directions to the hotel should be more specific. The main address of the hotel is on a street which does not have any valet or concierge presence. We had to go inside to figure out how to get to the main car entrance of the hotel. Also, the parking prices (50$ per day) should be mentioned upfront so that there are no surprises
The hotel was in excellent location, you can walk to many restaurants, museums, Auarium, the shore, etchowver the location comes with a price tag (expensive due to the world cup) and Parking cost way much per day. The staff were excellent.
Beautiful place to stay in a great location. Great people and they helped me get a refund from orbits. The bed was not very comfortable - ended up with quite a bit of back pain afterwards. The pool needs some updates too.
Spent close to 20 minutes waiting in line on Thursday night for cab A cab was only available if someone was arriving in a cab, then you could grab it for yourself
I liked how comfortable the bed was. Had a great night sleep. Pool and gym were nice. We didn't plan our trip but the concierge Sabine was lovely and more than helpful when she gave us a map and told us what my husband and I might enjoy. Great location. Parking is about $40 and wifi was $25. I would suggest this hotel for business men looking for an extended stay. The room smelled a little musty but that is expected for an older hotel.
friendly professional service, especailly in the lobby. great location bathroom no ventilation, inconvenient location of electricity plugs, no slippers
very pleasant suite with good facilities - eg large televisions in sitting room and bedroom, well designed 'kitchenette' for preparing drinks and snacks, extremely comfortable bed with masses of goosedown pillows, outdoor pool and hot tub with steamroom and excellant showers
Comfort, cleanliness, fantastic night skyline views through floor-to-celing windows (we stayed on 27th floor), professional hotel staff, convenience of having a small kitchenette, excellent downtown location. Highly recommended!
Location, accommodation & staff
We booked a suite with a separate living area and bedroom. The living area included a wet bar with microwave and dishware which we were not expecting. It was a nice surprise, so we got takeout Chinese and brought it back to the room for dinner and could eat it on real plates and with real silverware after reheating it in the microwave. The bed was super comfy, the staff very nice. Would certainly return there if coming back to Vancouver Only two elevators, one was being repaired the morning of our departure so there was a long wait to get down.
We were first time visitors to Vancouver & Victoria, staying seven days. We wanted a hotel room suite, on Robson St., w/a kitchenette & a view. Westin Hotels are quality hotels, in the states, and at the time of our visit the Westin Grand Vancouver/Booking.com had a fantastic special rate, for a corner suite. We were very pleased w/the suite, the hotel, the staff & the services. Everything seemed just fine. One suggestion: Suites/rooms w/refrigerators: The refrigerators need to be a little bigger, to accomodate items guests might need to refrigerate, during their stay.
Helpful Concierge team with reliable restaurant recommendations Would have liked more self catering facilities
We really enjoyed our stay at the Westin Grand. The executive deluxe suite was smaller than we expected, but it was nice. Chad and Nicola and Jessie were extremely helpful and friendly in the restaurant at breakfast. (We had coupons for breakfast, which was wonderful.) We really enjoyed eating a fancy breakfast, followed by cheap and tasty eats later in the day. (For example, Mongolian barbecue and Egyptian and Asian fast food are all within an easy walk of the hotel.) Overall, the hotel was great, but a little expensive. Even though we had internet and free breakfast, the price of the executive deluxe suite was high, given its size (relatively small).
Set in noisy area of Downtown Vancouver
Hotel had good parking. Convenient. Hotel room was not ready til very late post check-in. Suite was much smaller than depicted on the internet and in discussion with them. Room service at the pool-side was horrible.
The pool, hot tub and fitness area were fantastic. View from the room and location were also great. Checked into a dirty room, with stains and hair in the sheets. Had to pay for Wifi, for $400 a night
Room was clean and the staff were friendly. Pool and pool deck were very small. Fitness center was adequate but nothing special.
Location Near Orpheam theatre!
The location was great, room was clean and modern. The first morning we were woken up to the cleaners trying to get in our room multiple times with the key, it wasnt even 9am, (we were moving to another room the second night so we had to be out of there not until 11, we had two reservations for the two nights due to a free night and both nights were not booked in same room) the second morning, again, woken up around 8 to someone saying they were there for our bags, wrong room
the location of the hotel was great, close to shopping, buses and restaurants the room size
Good central location, convenient for exploring Vancouver
The staff was nice. Way overpriced for the room and ammenities.
the location The hotel was very noisy i could hear the people next door through the wall We could hear doors slamming maid woke us up to clean the room
It was situated in the center of the city and a close walk to many shops, restaurants and bars.
the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly When I walked into the room, some of the lights were unplugged, so I could not turn them on.
Very convenient to all parts of the city and staff was very helpful. Nothing
I had a big room, intended for up to four people, and it would certainly have been big enough for 4. Location was ok, though a bit at the edge of the action in downtown. Wifi reception was good. A good coffee shop is just across the street, which serves good breakfast as a cheaper alternative to the hotel itself. Room was pretty low (about 2.10m), I've never seen a hotelroom this low. As I'm 2m tall it is something I really notice and it was not comfortable for me, but I could live with it. The street just outside the window is pretty noisy, even at night. I stayed on the second floor, and you have to go up and then down a bit again to get there, which is kind of odd; my impression is that his floor was added later and not all of the hotel is like this room. The airco is fairly noisy, too, but I managed to sleep through it. The room smelled somewhat stale. Still, it's not like I had a bad time, not at all, but I wasn't there for the hotel.
