at arrival early morning the room was already prepaired and reday for us.we were welcomed in a nice way.the distance to the beach and shops around are closeby! we certainly go again. Also the food was price/value correct!
Reception staff were good and spoke good English and were very helpful Food was awful. Some of it was inedible. Also often long queues to get into the Dining room
spa facilites, evening entertainment.
Room was cleaned daily, entertainment was very good in the evening, location was quite Breakfast was not to our liking, walls were very thin between rooms
central location small rooms
we thought the spa and pool area were good.also the hotel provides lots of activities for children. we are hopeing to return with our son next year.
Everything in the hotel and room was nice Could not use internet at night.
The food and the hotel staff
Family suite and balcony were ideal for our party Would have liked fresh orange juice for breakfast
One can find different activities in the hotel it self Yes, It was a little bit noisy and makes it difficult to sleep in the morning after 7:00 AM
the swimming pool was good and it was close to beach area and close to portaventura. the food in buffet was often cold and not very nice. the hotel catered mainly to spanish guesta and this was reflected in food nand nighly entertainment
Staff poor English
Very central. Very clean. I went with my boyfriend but certainly recommend for families as there is a lot of activities in the hotel alone for children and very safe. Food was awful but I suppose you get what you pay for.
I felt the hotel was very close by all amenities and very clean and tidy Na
location staff in the restaurant were not very understanding. food is cleared away before guests are finished. parking
I liked nothing about Hotel Jamie i, the reception staff were rude and food was sub standard See above
location (7 minutes walk to Danny Boy), price no irons available (we bought one travel-little-iron for 10 euro at the hotel shop), pay for a safe-box (3,5 euro per day), in the evening meal there are no free drinks - no water no coffee from machines - go and pay it in the bar. but anyway it is quite good hotel, nothing awful
Large bright airy room overlooking pool
i liked everything about it the only thing maybe was one of the staff when checkin in
Spacious rooms, good location. Some of the members of the staff showed incompetence. The hotel charges 5 euro per day for the safe box. The hotel does have a parking which is impossible to book in advance.
A very relaxed atmosphere The dinner options are not very good
We had a relaxing time, in a good location. The hotel is well finished with all the amenities we wanted.
the breakfast was amazing!!! there was so much to choose from and all great fresh food. the buffet dinner also looked really good but we didnt get a chance to try it.the staff were friendly, they also have a spa/beauty and gym which was quite handy. the only thing i could fault them on is most of the staff spoke very little english, but we did get by fine, just was surprised in such a touristic city!
The hotel was very clean, modern and comfortable and had a good range of facilities.
we always book Magnolia if it's no space in Puertaventura hotel it is our 10 time stay ther.......... nothing
very private, very clean , good location. just a minor thing bacon egg sausage did go cold quickly in the heated container.
Location, value for money price for 4 star and facilities no coffee or tea facilities in room but suppose you don't need in Spain. And also heated pool was V cold
Fantastic rooms with internet
Location was perfect, quiet but close enough to restaurants and nightlife Nothing to complain about
The location was the best, it was very close to the beachside and center of Salou. Good price relation. No complains on our part
Spacious family room We were not allowed to have an electric kettle in room. We needed it to prepare formula milk for our baby.
Close to the beach and the center of Salou Very basic comfort
Had booked room for at least 6 weeks earlier and yet room not available when we got there at 11.30 at night. My daughter is pregnant and needed rest after a long day. we were put in a noisy downstairs room with camp bed where there were school children on tour.Considered leaving hotel next day but they gave us a better room but still very noisy. Very disappointed. Your company had charged my husbands credit card for first night which I believed was not correct. We intended paying full amount in cash. Unbelievable a hotel should do this.
Good hotel not far from the beach but we rested only one night. Our triple room was in the 4th floor, comfortable enough, with a nice view from the balcony.Breakfast ok.
location to the beach there breakfast is really bad and i would'nt eat such rubbish so had to find another resturant to eat in
the view food was appauling, sauna did not work, pool was poor, far to much chlorine. Poor service at bar.
Good location close to the beach and main area. Clean and probably lives up to it's 3 stars but quite basic. Breakfast not the best
The great Irish restaurant across the road. Fantastic customer services and brilliant for a young family. Very friendly. A bit dated.
Close to beach The staff and lack of staff.
We felt the hotel was excellent value for money especially the evening meals which were fresh, well presented and tasty. The restaurant compared very favourable with the prices and menus in the town.
Staff at the front desk during the day was great Staff in the restaurant was a bit rude. The night porter-receptionist was more than rude. We had to look for him as he always was away from his position, watching TV. And at that time, I was not able to borrow a simple corkscrew what means you can only demand something during the day, what is OK for a 2-star hotel but... this is a 4-star hotel!!!
it was central in city noice
Very friendly and helpful staff. A great location in Salou, near to the main shopping street and only 5 mins walk from seafront promenade
Central and rooms perfect. Access road not very good with major construction work being carried out.
The location is great. It is close to the beach and all other interesting places (shopping, bars, etc.). The staff was always nice and helpful. The gym is not really a gym. They have 3 exercisers from the las century. Besides we were a bit disappointed of the cleanness of our bathroom. It seems that they never clean the bidet. On balance too weak for a 4* hotel.
We found the staff to be very friendly and helpfull. The rooms were clean and comfortable . The pool on the top floor was great and also very clean . The buffet breakfast was was really good with a great choice of food and excellent servive .Location was great and close to the beach . The hotel was perfect but the taxi was expensive at 30 Euro to and from Reus Airport .
3 people in a very small room!
city center Internet connection was not working
Great position, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, breakfast good, generally a very pleasant stay... just the people in the room next door coughing at 5am non stop and walls a bit thin and beds could be a bit softer....
Everything was very good more like 4 star except the food, although the food was edible it lacked something to tempt you, but acceptable for a three star Not really, except a very hard bed! and food could have been slightly better but ok for a three star hotel.
The different cultures staying there made our holiday interesting and very enjoyable, while friendly barstaff ensured the children were just as important as the adults! Some staff not very helpful.
Only ten minute trip to airport.
Good location (not far from the beach and from the main shops), good food, pleasant area... And refurbished bathroom Small and uncomfortable rooms, very old furniture, very old conditioning systems, no services (laundry, spa...). Very loud animation every evening from 9 till 12 p.m (we lived on the 5th floor, and it was impossible to sleep and spent time in a quiet). Queues on the breakfast if you come up at 9 a.m (so you have to come at 8 or 8.30 a.m, not later). The next time I would choose another plase for my vacation
Room small but clean Food was very average ,disappionting. No english t. v channels only news.
good location small pool area
Reception staff very good polite and friendly bar staff no social skills what so ever not at all friendly Hotel very nice but not as good as it was 10/15 yrs ago i have stayed in this hotel many times over the last 20 yrs and seen alot of changes.
proximity to beach / restaurants etc - breakfeast / food very good staff not friendly - had problem with our room and staff very unhelpfuk
Excellent location, frendly staff, good selection of food
The pool is nice and jacuzzi is an added feature nicely placed where everyone can access it. Bar prices reasonable. Close to centre and beach. Beds are very firm and can leave you feeling stiff in the morning if you suffer back problem.
Enjoyed the relaxing by the pool, and the restaurant food was good. Soft drinks quite expensive - 4.80 euros for two bottles of coca cola. Quite steep really.
The hotel was in the centre of everything that salou has to offer. Was very clean. Extremely small balcony in our corner room. More importantly however poolside very cramped because numerous tables and chairs set up which were not used by guests at all but restricted the area for sun loungers.
I like the room, the services, the food ,the location near to the centre of salou, near to he beach, near to the port aventura park, tvery clean
Central location to all restaurants and beach, rooms spotless on a daily basis, breakfast fresh and tasty
The general areas, pool, reception etc are excellent. The food is very good both for breakfast and evening meals with a very good selection at reasonable cost. The hidden extra charges: 25 euro a week to use the bedroom fridge, 17 per week to use the small hotel safe and even a charge for a second key notwithstanding that the booking was for two persons. This was not refunded on check out. The check out time of 10am is ridiculously early although they do supply a room to hold bags. In room 327 there was no lock on the safe so it could not be used even if we were prepared to pay 17 euro. The price of the internet is crazy at about 6 euro per hour. In a four star hotel all these charges should be included. The general hotel is excellent but bedrooms are maximum three star. These hidden charges make you feel ripped of-even a three star would not have such high charges. Dont let this put you off. It i
Good value for money, convenient location, clean comfortable rooms. Dinner food, staff and room was poor and unenjoyable
Good size room for the 3 of us. No, nothing, it was a good experience.
Great hotel near to facilitiies food great had a lovely stay till we were checking out We were treated terribly at checkout by the reception staff and manager. Our visa had authorsied with our own bank when they put the payment through but was coming up declined on their end. They would not accept this and wanted us to pay twice and would not let us go. We missed our taxi for te airport. The payment gave us problems as we had only 100 euro on us and no pin for the card. We pleaded with them to let us go. The manager said that we would have to call family to get the money to go. We eventually promised to send te money by credit transfer when we got back to Ireland. Our bank has given us an authorisation number for the transaction. We were very upset when we left the hotel. They took copies of our passports. We will nopt be going back there
friendly and helpful staff ;location to theme park; mini disco for kids in evening the pool outside was too cold
Life guard around the pool at all times when people were swimming. Ask reception for anything they were always eager to help. Have now stayed at this hotel 3 times in the last 5years and probably will again in the future. Entertainment every evening if you stayed in that night and always a good selection of food.
Good position for Portaventura and the beach/restaurants in Salou. Lots of shops nearby
It was clean and we was always able to get sun beds, but some needed repairing. No
location, swimming pool was amazing and rooms were big the buffet dinner was crap.... some of the worst food i have ever tasted
Breakfast is ok. Food at dinner time is terrible.
the outdoor swimming pool, the ping pong table, the billiard and the size of the room. Staff at the restaurant and the lady at the bar were very nice. The rooms are very basic and were not well cleaned when we arrived, and when we made our booking we asked a few things that obviously they never read or did not take into consideration. Some staff were really not nice and that's a pity because most of them were nice and it puts the overall evaluation down. I also didn't like the fact that there is a minibar but you need to pay to just use it. I had no idea and i brought medicines with me that should be placed in the fridge and i found it really unfair. The turkish bath was not working on the first day.
large spacious rooms, good variety of food at meal times. We arrived about midnight at the hotel and found that a lovely cold buffet and water was laid out in the dining room for us - most appreciated after a long day. there was not enough coffee dispensers in the dining room and this resulted in long queues for coffee etc.
My wife and I were forced to find a hotel at the last minute due to the volcanic ash cloud cancelling our flight back to the UK. The Hotel California Palace was a pretty pleasant place all in all, but it was extremely quiet, we almost had the hotel to ourselves so it was quite devoid of atmosphere at times ! However, the buffet-style breakfast is simply brilliant !! - a mix of european and spanish elements. And the free-wifi on the grd flr was also extremely handy. The staff were also all extremely friendly and always seemed happy to help. I only had two issues with our stay: 1) The beds - extremely uncomfortable! The matresses are solid and I would imagine that any more than a few nights stay and your body would begin to feel it. 2) The much-advertised free-wifi in the rooms didn't work in ours.
Every member of staff that we met were extremely helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is perfect for the park, and the grounds are lovely. Although the majority of the hotel's guests are children, the bed that we had for our 3 year old son was unsuitable, it was squeezed in next to the main bed and therefore the head of the bed couldn't meet the wall and there was no rail so my son kept falling out of it. Also, although the buffet breakfast is great, the food on offer for the evenings is overpriced. The hotel could do with a supermarket onsite or nearby.
I liked the hotel architecture, the proximity to the park, the client service desk service. The towels were changed every day and the breakfast was good. I booked a 4 bedroom room but I got a normal room stuffed with an additional double bed. The mattresses were uncomfortable and were making strange noise while changing position in the bed during sleeping. While walking bare foot throughout the room I got dirty foots and before putting shoes on I had to wipe the foots with a wet towel.
Rooms not very clean smells in room all the time, Construction work near hotel lots of dust. Dust coming in air condition .The shows in the hotel where repeated all the time .Drinks and soft drinks were very expensive.
Ease of entry into the theme park, closeness to theme park, closeness to airport
Easy access to the theme park, Evening entertainment, no facilities for making tea/coffee in rooms, lack of english channels on tv for children.
Hotel corridors & lobby very cold . No Tea & coffee or water in rooms
Location, cleanliness, friendly staff. The minibar in our rooms are empty. I kept calling the reception for more than 30 minutes to ask for drinking water, but, No body answer the call!
Nice building, perfect location (nowheree near the beach though) priority on the rides Not enough staff, always a long wait for service especially the reception and bar. Breakfast quite good but a bit of a bun fight. Limited menus. A good 3 star hotel in a 5 star setting
Portaventura park Cleaning, rooms sugestive for 3 stars not 4.
Very conveniently connected to the theme park, making multiple visits to the park each day possible. The decor of the hotel room, especially the bathroom, looked a little tired.
My Wife and I have stayed at the above Hotel over the years...We both feel that it should only be rated 3* only.....Food in the evening is below average and very blande.
pool rooms much too small we booked triple too cramped for 3 adults should not have to pay to use a fridge in room. sheets not changed daily. our room covered in ants!
We went to Portaventura park for tow dys. Found the indoor pool excellent. used the playgroung and dining and bar in hotel. We also wnet into Salou. it was not close to either Portaventura or the beach, but both were within 20 minutes walk in different directions.
I liked that there was a russian girl on the reception - Natasha that helped us a lot and that there was a free interenet in the hotel to refresh rooms and to make 1 bed for double room for married couples
The rooms where spacious and the beds were very comfortable Some of the staff can be a little surly when approached with concerns, One receptionist failed to understand the significance and importance of something extremely important that I raised, but to be fair another one did and acted appropriately to the best of her ability.
Very well placed, near from the center end the beaches, and away enough to enjoy the quiet of the night. Nothing.
Breakfast was good Rooms are very old and need urgent intervention.
I thought the hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpfull. The only thing that let the hotel down was the cooked breakfast, very repetative, the eggs where deep fried and bacon was very greasy. No omeletes and pancakes.
it was a nice hotel, clean and comfortable... not enough sun loungers around pool,
The cleaner did a brilliant job. Gym was very good. Very nice hotel!!!
i really liked the hotel because it was infront of the beach. well, the beds they were uncuftable my children could not sleep.
pool was very nice. great location beside the beach. rooms serviced very well daily and great pool supervision and kids activities. there were no english speaking kids channels on the tv which is important for those few minutes in the morning and when trying to get ready to go out in the evening.
Service, location of the hotel - close to shore
The staff were very nice, polite and informative.
The hotel is very close to the beach, nice refurbished swimming pool and the food is very good. During our stay they didn't serve scrambled eggs for breakfast, fried eggs instead.
Hotel was very clean and rooms were spacious. Excellant comunications with hotel and staff were friendly and polite.
great location, near the beach and city centre, fontains show, easy to get to bus station, you don't need to take a taxi from salou bus station, it's in about 10 min walking from hotel. room was spacy with a big balcony. visit restaurant Arena -located in the hotel building- one of the best in salou check out at 10 a.m.
Facilities / Room / Location.
I liked the fact that it was across the road from the beach, had a great breakfast buffet and catered very well for the children. It was nice that a child discount was applied if children under 11 shared a room with an adult. I thought it would have wi-fi in the rooms and not just restricted to the lobby area. It was also a little basic for a 4 star hotel.
proximity to the ocean, and the main street. I could not find anything like this.
The location was great and the sea view was fantastic. Also the internet facilities were very good.
Good location. Nice view on the beach from hotel room. Close to beach and centre of Salou. Free Wifi. Good breakfast. Extremely noisy hotel. I have been in many hotels, but never had such a bad experience with the noise. No isolation between the rooms and at all. We could hear literally everything from the neighbours from all sides; even when they opened or closed the shower curtain. We had booked two rooms and one room was next to a loud group, which resulted in sleepless nights. Never again, despite all other good features.
frendly helpfull staff
The reception staff are excellent, helpful and very friendly Some problem with the waste water system creating a bad smell in the bathroom. room 504
Friendly staff and good service. Everything you need in your room and very nice location.
iternet, breakfast was good, location A little bit old facilities in hotel. One person in reception was nice, another not at all, just talking with friend on the phone, not attanding waiting customer at all. She was ungry with me that I disturbed her personal phone talk!
The location of this hotel was excellent - good beach view close to the centre of town. Breakfast was ok unremarkable but good enough. Air conditioning did not work. Had to have doors open onto the balcony - very noisy.
Overlooking the sea, and there were not many hotels open at this time of year. They said that they are open all year except Christmas day and the next day.which is good. We stayed there on the way back as well.
sea veiw I thought 8.30 - 10.30 wasa little late for dinner and the menu was in 2 languages none of which was in english, food was not very good.
The location, style and breakfast can be considerd as average or above. The rooms were also comfortable.
It is located next to the Far West entrance. The food was quite good. The rooms were spacious and modern. As a hotel guest you have free access to the Beach Club which can be reached by taking the free bus outside the hotel. It is a fantastic place with 7 pools and a wonderful beach view. There is a cafeteria, lockers, shop and towels to be hired free of charge. Not to be missed.... You have to queue for breakfast as it is very busy. You are given a card with a specific time but no one is following this system. The dining room is extremelly noisy.I had to wait for more than half an hour to do the check out so I would advise to do it very early in the morning if one is in a hurry. The problem is that each person takes a minimum of 15mn to check in and there are no separate queues for check-in and check out.
Close proximity to theme park. Children enjoyed scrummy pancakes at breakfast.
It was very close to the Park which was the only reason we stayed there. I felt this was not a four star hotel, at best it was three star. the dining experience in particular was more like an institution that a Four Star Hotel The furnishing in the bedroom was also very basic ie. one locker between 4 people. My children however were delighted with the experience and that was shy we stayed.
The location to the park was nice as you are next to the Far West within Port Aventura. The resort was beautifuly decorated as a old far west town and there are many nice places, the swiming pools were nice. The hotel entrance was quite tasteful. The Opera restaurant and particularly a waitresse, was really lovely and gave an excellent service within the resort. The little shop facility is nice, and the large cafeteria has good varied food. The rooms were pretty although small. I found that the reception was very disorganised and slow, we waited there for a long time and there were only few people working there to cater at peak hours. At entry time. I walked in on the cleaner and found our bed pillows had been thrown on the floor while she was making our beds. Which I was quite disgusted to see. The rooms had no soap and you had to keep asking for supplies. The room was tiny and the wardrobe had no spece for a family for a 4 star hotel there could be more details and for the price too. The staff at the Bar lounge late in the evening were quite unfriendly and quite rushed in their service.
everyone friendly and close to all amenities
Clean, staff friendly, good access to other parts of the resort.I was bed and Breakfast the food was excellant.
Very good service. Breakfast was excellent, very good value for money.Staff were very helpful. My room was right by the elevators and it was quite noisy in the morning.
Loud music played in the hotel courtyard until after 1am some nights, we didn't get much sleep and ended up leaving a night early to stay elsewhere.
location of the hotel paying a deposit of 15 euro plus 3 euro per day to use the iron and being on the 6th floor and i could still hear the crashing of the bottles goinging in the bin. having a phone in the room that has no use because a deposit is needed before the line is open that means you can not call the front desk to ask for information and no room service
All the contacts with the hotels personell were excelent. All the workers were very pleasant and helpfull. The bathroom needs some improvements. It's a bit old. They didn't renew those litle soaps and offers that all the hotels have. Only one litle soap for five days it's quite a lot. Gladly there was a supermarket near where I bought one. The cleaning of the bedroom could be a lot better. The floor was full of sand, and the sheets were always the same.
food very good, staff pleasant, pool shady, not no entertainment for kids(went in oct08 school holidays)not many english all germans and spanish
The staff were fantastic, they even rang me 5 Mins after i had left to tell me that i had left my house keys in my room
Good location (nice beaches near), very delicious food, clean rooms, nice animators, very friendly stuff (including Russian-speaking), good service - would give 9 of 10 points to this hotel No discos (for small children only), safe paid additionally
The Price.. Unbeatable! Area was a bit too touristy for me
First of all the hotel was perfect in every way,The buffet food was great but the most important thing was the staff at reception they were brilliant,I had some queeries about airport transfers they made the calls and sorted everything out for me.
A great family hotel, good value for money, the food was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful, after staying for one week the evening entertainment was a bit boring but I would definitely recommend this hotel. The triple room was a bit on the small side for three people
This hotel represented good value for money - food etc. was of a very good standard considering the price we paid. No complaints - everything was better than we had expected (again given the price paid)
Sightseeing, pool, spa & beach. No
Nice hotel, great swiming pools, good entertainment/programs for families with kids, good food. Cleanness of our room below average, worst after complain at reception.
Good Food. Very friendly staff. All round ambience. Good management, especially in the dining area. The smallness of the rooms and the lack of comfortable seating in the bar area/
The hotel, staff was absoluteley perfect. Good value for money. The good was fantastic breakfasr was even better. The reception staff were all lovey. I f you like the night life you need to go to Salou town centre! Dont forget to g into the lively night clubs 007 and the Bus stop! I will return to this hotel without a problem. I highly reccommend this hotel.
We liked everything service, comfort, entertainment, pool. heat No complaints had a lovely week
The food was great and varied, as was the entertainment. The bar prices were reasonable too. Lack of Aircon in the rooms after October 1st meant sweaty nights, and if like me you were at the front of the hotel leaving windows open meant traffic noise...aswell as insect bites. Hotel staff did not want to entertain the idea of turning the Aircon back on.
The room was perfect. The TV was perfect with many channels in english. The resturant was excelent, the buffet in the evening was 10 out of 10 and the staff was the best.Free show every night. I will absolutly be back.
Free wi-fi in the room and in the lobby, good location, good curtains protecting from sun, jakuzzi and sunbeds on the roof. Fruits for breakfast and dinner. The cleaning of the room was poor - one day the bed was not made, the shampoo and soap were almost not replaced, the cleaning was very quick and not thourogh. The breakfast was not very good - there was mostly high cholesterol food like fried sausages and bacon + bakery from a shop (not fresh). It was not possible to get tea of coffee for dinner, even for fee. The hotel was full by mostly old people, so not really fun. Overall, it was a reasonable stay and the hotel is not bad, but also could not say it was great experience.
Location: 5 min to the plage For sure, not 4-star hotel: room decoration and size, food don't match expectations
Nice and clean good food
Hotel were aware that I would be checking in late and arranged a light supper in my room, a nice touch and appreciated A fridge in the room would be welcomed
proximity to beach and location smokey smell in room, food: not great selection for breakfast
The room, personell who cleaned the room... very clean. Just turning the tv on was to much noise?! While there is animation till 1AM?! Not fair from hotel staff imo
Vicinity to Universal theme park and town. Indoor swimming pool option. Patio doors. The hotel applied smelly fertiliser to the grass which meant that the patio doors could not be opened. A letter to the manager was issued re this, but no response received.
The staff were very very slow in serving in the bar, a person could have to wait for up to 20 minutes. at one stage they were in the back room of the bar looking out and took 5 minute to come out, it was very very annoying.
It was close to the amusement park. The food was only ok for the price. The beds were horrible. The bathroom could be cleaner. It felt so far away from town.
loved the beach club! Room no way four star! Floor was only mopped once in our five day stay, this wasnt enough when you have 2 adults, 2 child sharing a room.
Lovely setting. My 5 year old really enjoyed the kids club, nightly mini disco and shows. The fact that we could enter PortAventura as we pleased was an added bonus. Staff not very friendly. The hotel does not provide a kettle in the room which was very incovenient as we had an 8 month old baby.
The whole package was fantastic. Character breckfast was poor not enough characters.
Well kept pool areas, activities for children. Location between city and Port Aventura, free access to Port Aventura. "spa"
location time allocated to leave hotel 11am t early
access was easier to go to the parks by staying at the hotel very spanish orientated not good for irish/english speaking
The quality and the variety of the food in the buffet was very good and added to the experience. The friendliness of the staff. The frequency of the transport service to the themepark. Only a small item but it would be helpful if there was some form of sheltered walk from the rooms to the hotel. It rained during our stay and was the only aspect that caused discomfort.
