The front counter clerk was very pleasant. She went out of her way to make sure that we were comfortable and when she thought that's something wasn't available she told us that she would personally get it and bring it for our comfort. The Internet there is terrible. They offer free wifi and we could not access the internet at all.
The hotel provided a safe, quiet, clean place for sleeping and preparing for the next day. The housekeeping staff was accommodating, bringing me a firm pillow, providing shower caps, and loaning us a complimentary roll-away bed. Access was difficult with freeways ramps in all directions. 3 days of practice helped. The carpet in the room was definitely not barefoot area, but it wasn't obviously nasty. Pillows were unusually thin and soft. Lobby was strangely dark on Sun. night.
Accommodated all our requests

Nothing A/c was broke in the room that we were given first we asked for another room and it took over an hour for them to assign one. The beds were horrible and the whole hotel smelled of Chlorine
Reasonable rooms and food. Far from our relatives whom we went to visit.
Location and hotel set up. The sleep number beds were broken.
The sleep number beds were a big plus Small bathroom you hit your knees on the door when dropping a due early.
Clean, smelled nice. Only thing better would have been if they had free breakfast. Our TV didn't work at first but was fixed right away.
Clean very nice room friendly staff It was fine

Location We booked a double queen room and got stuck with a single king bed. We have a family of four. The staff acknowledged we did book a double queen, but they gave it to somebody else. No apology to us at all. Half our family had to sleep on an air mattress.

It's your garden variety motel, nothing fancy. It was decently Clean, no one bothered us, we got fresh towels every morning. Decent for the money- can't complain. it's right next to the mall and restaurants, we are going to stay there next time we spend a weekend in Kansas City.
It was musty, moldy just about everything was wrong with it. not a good service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
We just needed a place to lay down our heads on a long road trip. Arrived late at night, left early the next morning. Helpful staff. The room felt very cramped. I was so tired, I didn't realy notice the bed quality. The food was colorless and pretty bad. But I can't complain too much given the price.
There isn't anything remarkable about this hotel. You get a bed and that's about it. The room is fine, the staff is fine, the waffles in the morning are fine. It's all about as non-remarkable as you could ask for.
This is a no frills hotel, the rooms are small and there is no pool, but this is the perfect place to stay if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your room.
Was disappointed at check-in, waited and waited for someone to help us. Then when we were expecting a call from home, no one was there AGAIN to answer the phone. Finally got the call 30 minutes later. Stay at your desk people!!!! Its your JOB!!!!
We often stay at this hotel when visiting with relative. This time the room was near the truck parking lot and we heard trucks starting up at 5:00 am--not great. Breakfast room is newly remodeled. Room was clean.
For a one night stay, this place is perfectly fine. It is nice and clean. The staff person at the desk was friendly. The room was basic. No extras including no wi-fi. The breakfast was also very basic. Other than juice and milk, it was a carb fest of cereal, toast, waffles, and oatmeal.
We have stayed here the last 3 years for the Cup race. Easy to get to and from the track on race day.
Reasonably clean except for weird stains visible on the underside of the bedspread, but we all know those things don't get cleaned much, right? I never trust bedspreads even in good hotels. Bed was comfortable. Heater worked. Bathroom adequate. Not much space around the beds, but who cares if you just need a place to sleep. Desk clerk was nice and came to the room to help with a minor problem (bed lamps weren't plugged in for some reason). Breakfast was a bit limited - waffle maker, bread, cereal - all pretty starchy, basically. I would stay there again if I needed to go to KC again on my current budget.
We had a King. The room was very clean and reasonably priced. The desk clerk was very pleasant. We will stay here again.
Staff was friendly with great service. Room was quiet and clean. Plan on staying again next year if rooms are available.
The La Quinta in Lenexa, KS was one of the most pleasant stays I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
The toilet kept flushing until in the n]middle of the night I got up and fixed it. Should be entitled to a refund.
Staff Shabby, shower leaked all over
Oh my goodness! From the moment we stepped out of the car and walked through the beautiful secluded garden patio, to the moment we stepped in the door and were greeted and invited to enjoy free margaritas - the staff did everything to ensure our stay was wonderful. Upgraded room for free- plus we returned from dinner to find a bottle of champagne chilling with a note from the staff wishing us a Happy Anniversary. Wonderful breakfast- close walking distance to the Art Museum and The Plaza. We will be coming back here again!
I could use iron to dry my washed clothing. I could not connect to the wireless internet because the internet was limited or not available.
good staf,good location,
I've been here on multiple occasions and been happy with each experience. Friendly staff close to the plaza.
Location Pool was cold little pricey
The staff was very friendly. No exception there. Found out the shower didn't switch well between a shower and bath tub. The toilet bowel had a crack that split 3 ways and was ready to leak water everywhere.
Location and style No
This hotel is beautiful and well located. Very comfortable bed and nice bathroom products. Wish the room had fridge and microwave and room service was open later. Would also be nice if there were a pool.
The location was nice, in the middle of downtown. Hotel Phillips was rated as a four star hotel, so our expectations were high. Instead our room was not vacuumed, the carpeting was clearly damaged, and the wall paper was literally peeling from the walls. It was worse than the 2/3 hotels we've stayed in.
Has the potential to be charming - was under construction. Had a lighted mirror in the bathroom - don't find those very often. No restaurant & no room service. Wallpaper is starting to peel from the wall in the bathroom. Microwave on top of the desk - took up much of the available space.
Staff were very accommodating!! Great Art Deco vibe! Close to many amenities! No
The hotel was close to the venue we were attending. The construction in the front of the hotel and lack of parking.
The location was kind of centralized so it was close to just about everything we wanted to do, and the room itself was pretty awesome...:)
The location is fantastic. Close proximity to restaurants and Bars. The new tram is close by and connects you to Union Station. Is a historic hotel with a well preserve interior and exterior lobbies. There is construction everywhere at the hotel. They start at 8am drilling loudly all over the place. if you expect to sleep in, you will be out of luck.
The price was great for the location we needed Hotel construction going on
Nothing Shower,no refrigerator. Construction mess. Beds and pillows.
The hotel location was exactly where we needed The hotel is under construction which is understandable if managed properly. This was not. The water was turned off all day before we checked in and was being turned off again the next day so we couldnt even shower. We were woken up at 7:30 am by noise.
I loved the history wrapped up in this hotel! What a great location! Cheap parking, great staff, and even though there is currently a huge renovation project going on, it was as clean as it could be and very quiet in our room.
Front desk gave us all vouchers for free cover to get into the Power and Light district (worth $10 each) and vouchers for free cover for two of the bars within it. No refrigerator or microwave in room. Expensive parking.
It was very close to point of interest. It also had a great bathroom! The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The room was a smaller than I expected.
Very close to the Sprint Center.Comfortable beds and clean rooms. I was very satisfied and would stay there again.
Friendliness of the staff. Cleanliness of the rooms. Beds were extremely comfortable. Group of pre-teen boys running up and down the hallway, screaming and banging on doors in the middle of the night. Not really the hotel's.fault, but.certainly put a.damper on things.
The location and size of the room. That we have been charged for the Gym usage (US$ 5). This is ridiculous.
Very comfortable, friendly staff, very clean, conveniently located near railway station.
View of City Comfortable Room Quiet Very nice shops attached, restaurant options. Staff extremely polite and helpful Signage within hotel somewhat confusing. No directions to hotel parking garage Elevator to parking garage was not labeled as such
We had a wonderful time KC is amazing Staff and room were excellent
After a bad storm and no power there were 350 people all trying to check in at 4 pm. The Staff was amazing in the service they provided to many irate guest. Michelle and staff did an amazing job during a stressful time. The Hotel as a whole needs to be torn down and re built. The rooms were extremely outdated, mold on the ceiling tiles in the room, no hot water, bugs in the blinds, NO air conditioning at all, very poor over all quality for spending $250 for one night because of a concert being in town.
The hotel appearance upon arrival was nice and clean. The gentlemen there when we arrived was kind and helpful. The beds were the WORST! As were the pillows. Was supposed to have a microwave but didn't. The rooms were so warm - even with the air down to 60. Indoor pool door was jammed shut so we couldn't swim. However, the man at the counter gave us tickets to the water park - which was okay but super warm and heavy - but suppose it's supposed to be? Had to get ice from the market because the 2 floors I was sent to to get ice, the machines weren't working. A few more petty things.. Not a fan of the hotel :(
clean room and was quiet hot tub was cold and heavy on the chlorine
Great for ease in seeing Kansas City Royals play Over $200 per room, very poor value considering a lumpy bed, a missing mini fridge and tiny bathroom. Air conditioning was marginal.
The rooms where very nice and cleane Need more parking
Love how beautiful the hotel was an how relaxing the room was an Denys was right across the way so I smacked all night lol love this place plus it has a water park .
The hotel was great. The staff was pleasant and eager to please. When we arrived, there was no record of our reservation. If I hadn't brought along my printed receipt I don't know that we would have gotten a room at all. Not the best start to our stay, but after the issue was resolved we truly enjoyed ourselves.
Nothing Front desk was rude. Notified them of no heat in our room, they told us to pretty much deal with it.
The room was a lot of fun! We didn't know what we were getting going in, which made stepping into the Egyptian Palace room all the better. The hot tub and bed were extremely comfortable. Room was clean and well put together, and the staff were very accomodating. The bathtub had a persistent drip and, due to full bookings, we were not able to move to another room. However, we received a complimentary breakfast and the staff made sure that the water was relatively unobtrusive.
Great staff, terrific hot breakfast, super clean and comfortable. Vending machines not working, no service stations anywhere near to refuel.
Check-in easy, staff very friendly and helpful, entire facility clean and well maintained, hot breakfast/dinner included, happy hour with free drinks. I have zero complaints.
the breakfast in room was good and nice. Next to elevator in room 1224, kept me awake most of the night.
The locations was perfect for our downtown stay. The city was alive with people and I felt it was a safe place to stay. Although the hotel had an attached parking ramp, there were no stalls available for any of the guests who checked in Saturday afternoon. This was a major problem because I had to park three blocks away.
Perfect location for Power and Light District. A bit far away from the city centre; would need a bit of a refurbishment.
Staff was nice Nothing
This Days Inn is offered a really good room - comfortable beds, great lighting, quiet cooling, frig + microwave. The staff is friendly and responsive to needs (our room lacked enough towels -- which were quickly supplied). The breakfast was adequate, but suggest adding an easy protein source -- boiled eggs, for example -- and a slightly wider number of options in the "breads" category. Otherwise the options for cereal, yogurt, fruit, biscuits, juice and coffee is fine.
The room was spacious. Comfortable bed with nice lighting all around. Nicely decorated. Very quiet. I think they must use a carpet freshener, because it really smelled nice, even the hallways. Hot breakfast was a very nice treat. Toilet bowl had toothpick in it, so I was leary of how clean it really was. Sink had black residue around the silver drain disk. That shouldn't be there. Could be cleaned with a Q tip. Front desk clerk could have been more welcoming.
Nice room, clean hotel, friendly staff!
Rooms were efficient, clean, and comfortable. Microwave and refrigerator worked great and television service was fairly standard but good. Waffle maker at the breakfast was a pleasant surprise. Over all our short stay was very good. We were traveling into Kansas City for an event and trying to stay on a lean budget. The hotel was an excellent value for our needs. We stayed on the 1st floor and the floor/ceiling above creaked when the people staying in the room above us walked around. Pool is an outdoor pool so it was closed down for the season. Would have liked to see a wider variety of fresh fruit at the breakfast.
False Advertising! I made reservations for this hotel walked into the room and walked right out. The rooms reaked of urine and what appeared to be blood was on one of the night stands. Then when I walked into the lobby and told them there was no way I was staying there we still got charged. RIP OFF BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION! I'm a wounded warrior and they took full advantage of me!
Price Loud beds. Woke up the whole room when one got up to use the bathroom.
Every associate we came in contact with was incredibly friendly and always willing to help. The rooms were clean and relaxing.
Inexpensive and near the airport
Great bed, clean bathroom and extra blanket and pillow in the closet, friendly staff
Richly furnished and spacious room; very comfortable bed. Very convenient location right outside the airport.
The best were very comfortable and linens were very soft aND perfect after a long day of travel. There was only one ice room per floor.
Location is everything! The price was adequate. The room was clean and quiet.
Airport pickup and close to airport They charged me $25 to check in early as I needed to change clothes for my business meeting. They did not mention that had I waited 20 minutes there would be no charge. 'Company policy', the refuge of cowards.
Fast check-in. Very clean room, beds were comfortable. Good price for one night stay. Had to call twice for the shuttle to pick us up at the airport. It took about 45 minutes. Being remodeled so the restaurant looked like a temorary set up with a some square bare tables and an electric food server on the counter. The "bar" was a ledge near the lobby with 2 beer taps and not a soul in site. Places to eat were about 5 miles down the highway.
The updates to the hotel made it look very modern and clean. The lobby and the rooms had a number of cosmetic improvements that made it appealing. The staff was very helpful in finding the easiest route to get around downtown. The room layout was very cramped. the space was not well designed in the remodel the were describing. Also, the walls in the redo were not sound-proofed. We could hear everyone in the halls and all of the neighboring rooms in addition to the alley below us. It made it really hard to sleep when It sounded like people were talking in the room
The staff was wonderful! The room was modern and had a nice view of the city. The room was small and not extremely relaxing though. The hallway was noisy and there is almost no noise insulation from one room to the next. I didn't feel the luxury for the price of the room. The location is outstanding for having fun downtown Kansas City though, we could walk everywhere we wanted to be! Overall I enjoyed my one night getaway stay at this hotel, it was just that, a bed to crash in when we were done having fun on the town.
Clean, great staff, close to dining, shopping, and entertainment. even after adjusting the room temp it was still very cold.
