Always love Springhill Suites and this one did not dissapoint. The restaurant could be improved but otherwise everything was great.
If you are going to Fairbanks, I highly recommend this hotel. All of the rooms are studio suites, nicely furnished, clean, with very comfortable beds. My only complaint was that someone before us in our room tampered with the TV and broke the box in the back probably trying to get something free. I called the front desk and they didn't have anyone that could do anything about it even though it was still late afternoon. They did offer to move us, but since we already had all of our things in the room and unpacked, we declined. No big deal, the TV still worked by pushing the buttons on the front and there was another one in the bedroom area. The included breakfast was very good with eggs, sausage, waffles and lots of other stuff. Great location, right downtown on the river with plenty of free parking. We were on a lengthy road trip so needed to do the laundry while there. The laundry should have been larger for the size of the hotel.
Checked in, desk clerk too busy carrying on personal conversation with another guest to pay attention to us. Got to room and it was freezing. Turns out window left open and boiler being serviced. Clerk did not tell us & this lasted about 3 hours during which my young grandson and I froze. No offer of portable heater or a room that hadn't been chilled to outside air temp with open window when I questioned situation. No consideration on bill either after I complained. Of course, no manager on Sat to help.
This hotel was fabulous on our last nite on a 15 day trek from Vancouver to Fairbanks with a 7 day cruise along the way. They provided a shuttle service that picked us up at the train and took us to the airport. The room was large with a sitting area, business desk and studio kitchen area. The bed was comfortable. We had one of the best breakfasts we have had a a hotel. The oatmeal was not package but fresh and had 6-7 toppings like pecans, raisins and craisins. They had hot food including salsa for the eggs. I don't drink coffee but they had a unit that provided many of the popular ''fancy type'coffees it appeared to me. Many options beyond the popular waffle maker which my husband likes. We did the Riverboat Discovery trip which I would recommend and the shuttle delivered us round trip. We went to visit the Ice Museum and it did not look like much but it was fascinating ($12 for adults). On the hour they show a film, then display their many sculptures they have on site and then one o...
Wonderful large room, very clean and in great location.
Great breakfast. nice pool and hottub. Rooms very clean and spacious. Front desk staff very busy but helpful.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was very clean and house cleaning service was amazing. If you needed something extra the brought it to you imeadiatly. A must if you are staying in Fairbsnks.
My daughter and I had a long stay in the Fairbanks SpringHill Suites, and it was wonderful. Beautiful staff, and beautiful room! The hotel and the room were SPOTLESS and the breakfasts provided were amazing! Thank you for making my first real vacation in ten years so lovely!
I chose Springhill Suites because of previous good experiences at other Marriot ''Suites'' hotels. I was not disappointed. The room was great. The hotel is just across the street from the Fairbanks Visitor's Center and the Chena River. Ask for a room on the ''front'' of the hotel for this view. On one night, we enjoyed a band concert in the park across the street. The continental breakfast was great - a lot of variety with plenty to choose from. .
Clean, convenient and comfortable the room is a little bit crowded for 3 people.
The room was nice, and the owners were very nice. I liked that we had the ability to use the kitchen if we wished. Due to a flight problem, we arrived at 3:00 a.m. I had called the owner earlier that day, and she graciously left keys for us. Coffee pots weren't in each room, although that may be an Alaska thing. No problems, but the key situation is a little unnerving...if our room key works the front door of the house, would someone else's key work for our room? I think so.
