Poor room service. Very very tired old furnishings.
Old world, good views. Associated with other hotels which are only 200 metres away and which have better/modern facilities (food, spa, bar etc)
Beautiful location and wonderfully quiet. Staff nice and welcoming. Very romantic Bed creaked !
the location of the hotel for the view over braga loading and unloading area for the customers (incline )
We did not like it, because the airco did not work. So we left after one night
Wonderful position! Magnificent views. Like being in a fairytale setting. Comfortable room-good breakfast. An absolute "must see" place.
Very nice and interesting place
The hotel staff really does an effort to please the guests.
The staff were very helpful The area surrounding the hotel was restful and scenic
Execellent location. The grounds are well kept and there is lots to see around the hotel. The history is preserved in the whole complex. We had a very pleasent stay. Like most of the hotels in portugal and spain- no Iron or Air conditioning.
Good price. Far away from downtown (about 5 kilometers). Internet is very expensive!
limited choice on menu
Easy access for drivers. Hotel clean and comfortable. Non-smoking and smoking areas should be carefully kept apart.
We liked the courtesy of the staff, the internet fascility and our evening meal was excellent.
Good parking. Easy to reach from highway by car. Counter staff helpful with map and directions on request, tho initially not welcoming. The door to room had previously been jemmied open or something which meant door was not reattched well -hanging off its hinges and big gaps. Breakfast was terrible, minimal and cheap products. Breakfast staff surly, insisted we move to a different table after we'd settled in, then put reserved sign on table we'd been forced to vacate. Why not do this from the start? No cutlery/crockery on table we were moved to, had to get this ourselves from another table. Sheets on bed were short for tall people.
Value for money Good breakfast Location difficult if not traveling by car.
Hotel staff were very helpful.
It was a nice experience overrall, the staff were excellent A phone call I made to another city in Portugal was a bit expensive
It was a regular hotel for this grade.
Food excellent Map needed to show location. Road access instructions only available from the motorway.
The hotel is outside of the city, so you need a car to get in and out. Nice park around it, nice views, staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast is not a big deal, your room may face to a noisy street so beware of that. The wifi may not work in your room also.
Very friendly, informative and helpful staff Limited dining facilities
The place interruption, on the cabo TV
Quiet hotel, located right in the Bom Jesus Park. Breakfast (American) was good, with cereal, fruit, yogurt and 2 types of bread. Restaurants right outside the hotel much better than others we found downtown.
Nice locationon the mountain of Bom Jesus. Rooms were tidy and clean. Good variaty in breakfastbuffet.
Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is new and so everything looks great and clean. The breakfast could be a little bit better. Its localization could be better pointed in the roads.
Only the transport tools, since the last elvator close arround 8:00 PM. If there will be other main of transport it will be very fine.
Good Location, Fresh look Tv set could be bigger and better tv channels
A great hotel in a lovely setting by Bom Jesus Sanctuary. Quiet and restful. Very comfortable facilities. Extremely well maintained. Use of the Spa in the nearby hotel is a great bonus. Will stay here again.
Could use facilities at other hotels which were within walking distance. Staff very helpful & knowlegable of local area.
Good size room, nicer than other hotels I stayed in. Walls weren't dirty. Liked that the internet ended up being free to use, even though it said 3euro for a hour. Terrific location. Elevator.
Every amenity is literally on the doorstep. Continental breakfast is a continental breakfast and I personally am generally well satisfied with them
Perfect location, right in the middle of old town, very quaint.
close to the centre of Braga the shower broke, and the room was very very nosiey. barely slept all night.
Location rooms are too small, breakfast not fully satisfactory
Polite service, good size room. Convenient hotel close to the city centre.
Excellent location, good all round comfortable accommodation There is no car parking, though there is a garage 200m away
Central --good safe car park --very friendly staff.excellent value No complaints
I chose this hotel to stay during a conference. Most of the time, I would be out, and I was looking for a place with internet and breakfast, just to recover from day activities. I actually got more than that. Staff was very friendly and location allowed nice walks through the center of Braga. However, if you have a car (I did not), well, parking will be a problem.
Ambience and character of a converted convent Service in bar sporadic; breakfast solid but uninspired
The location is excellent, and the tennis and soccer fields made me wish I was there longer Unfortunately it was a bit noisy at night due to cars racing in the hotel's vicinity. Nothing they can do about that, though, I assume.
Particularly the pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were excellent, the food in the dining room very good, and the outdoor pool was great. The hotel was generally very clean. Slightly disappointed by the indoor pool – too warm and the water seemed rather cloudy.
The breakfast was delightful. The hotel was fairly quiet. Our room was located in a corner and we could see right into the window next to ours so we had to keep our curtains drawn - I would have liked to enjoy the view. The elevators were intimidating with the "jumps" they made. GPS coordinates would have helped to find the hotel.
Very nicely situated over the city of Braga.
The location is excellent.
Wonderful views, excellent staff, great location. All in all an excellent hotel. Everyone in our party was impressed
The hotel staff was very friendly, good breakfast. The hotel was an antique convent, which makes an interesting environment. We did not use all of the facilities, which are plenty, only the pool and jacuzzi. Rooms could be updated, the furniture and bathroom are not modern, our closet was huge and next to the desk, blocking one of the doors. The TV is on the desk which leaves very little space for the use of a laptop, for example. The tv could be tuned better, the image was out of focus in some channels, although it had SporTV. Be aware of the garage doors in the indoor parking, they can be very tricky. The pool wasn't warm enough (for me, but that can be just me); the jacuzzi's water were somewhat not very clear (a little greenish), not very inviting, although it worked fine.
The location was great although finding the hotel proved challenging. The triple room was very spacious and clean. The staff, especially at the front desk were very friendly. We booked this spa hotel in anticipation of enjoying a massage after finishing the Camino de Santiago. We made appointments for the evening we arrived but then discovered that there was no one available to provide a massage that evening. The spa desk then suggested we use the Jacuzzi instead. Unfortunately after purchasing swim caps we discovered the Jacuzzi wasn't working. A big disappointment to say the least. Fortunately the hotel refunded the cost of the swim caps. Really would have liked a massage though.
Everything was just perfect
Staff were very friendly and helpful and it was fantastic value for money.
The staff were very helpful, friendly and eager to make our stay here enjoyable
The attention I deserved from the owners No complain
Very friendly staff!
Location is easy to find No hairdryer and continental breakfast (no buffet)
Extremely courteous and helpful staff; rooms as promised, very clean and located well enough-fifteen minutes walk to the city centre.
The hotel is 10 minutes away from the town center. That's probably because the town is pretty small. The hotel only has a few parking spots in front but there's enough space in the street. The breakfast is good enough. The internet connection is pretty slow.
Staff and Breakfast
I found the friendliness and service provided by the receptionist excellant, her local knowledge and advice most usefull. I expected to find tea/coffee facilities in the room and a hairdryer would be very handy.
English-speaking, friendly staff. Lovely interior design and furnishings. Super Spa. Easy parking. Chocolates and grapes in the room when we arrived were a lovely surprise! Nowhere in the bedroom for me to use my own hairdryer or straightener in the room and be close to a mirror ! The bedroom was too dark to work with my lap-top and documents. Breakfast did not include any fish options (smoked salmon etc).
Everything was great. It's a very modern new hotel and the staff are exceptionally attentive. Slow elevators, in the morning you have to wait a few minutes.
The rooms are amazing I thought the lights in the spa were too bright.
The room is very comfortable and the bathroom is well designed. The breakfast was great. Very friendly staff.
Amenities Weak internet in the room
Fantastic location Hotel staff was sad.
Central location, service. Can be loud if you are in the front rooms.
location, splendid view from room, size and cleanliness of the room, no parking problems we didn't like the breakfast, in particular cheese and ham
Excellent views from the room and the restaurant. Good restaurant food. Location. My room was next to the service lift for the restaurant that ran all evening until 1:00 AM and started again at 6:50 AM. Had some troulbe communicating with some staff and a little difficulty with my restaurant booking
Only the location Your waiters are all very rude. They make you feel very unwelcome. We did not like your Christmas Lunch Menu as we don't eat goats, boiled octopus etc and asked for a toasted sandwich with salad instead. They refused to serve us. We starved for Christmas and could not find an open restaurant anywhere. Your hotel ruined our entire Christmas Holiday which cost us a lot of money!
Beautiful location, very unusual and pleasant
The location of the Hotel, at Bom Jesus, and overlooking Braga, was excellent The room was a little tired, and the paint on the balcony was flaking. The food was not of an acceptable standard. A lack of fresh food both at dinner and breakfast.
The location of the hotel and the cleanliness of the room Do not ask for fast pressing services is 50% more expensive, just go to the mall: braga parque yourself.
the location is superb. i was expecting a kettle, tea, coffee, milk, sugar in one corner so i could make a nice cup of ......when i get up in the morning. also there is no exhaust in the bathroom....so i have to open the window/door everytime we have a poooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (sorry but it is true)
The beauty of this excellent site and the beautifully Portuguese looking building! Since this site is visited by many people, parking during the day, for hotel guests, might become a problem in the future, .
Good shared facilities with the adjoining hotel
The location, staff and breakfast Indoor Swimming pool was too cold in both days of our stay even after reporting it to the staff
the location of the hotel, the breakfast, the hotel staff.
wonderful location with fabulous views over the city and countryside very difficult to find from inadequate directions - had to stop and ask at another hotel
The indoor pool. You must drive or take a taxi to the citycenter.
Location, facilities, good restaurant within walkng distance.
Excellent freindly service and value for money
Please write at least 15 words
Great location for seeing Braga. Would have liked tea / coffee facilities in the room.
Excellent location. Good rooom quality and decoration. Buffet breaksfast good (except coffee). Staff pleasant helpful and had good English. Room walls too thin leading to a lot of noise from other rooms hence poor rating for comfort. For me this is a serious issue that ruins an otherwise good hotel. Breakfast coffee poor.
friendly staff - delicious food ´superb breakfast - enjoyed pianist at dinner. liked garden space. no. beautiful building. family atmosphere.
Friendly staff, excellent location.
The restaurant was superb; both in terms of food and ambience Unfortunately - and obviously not their fault and mainly because this was a walled city - the parking was difficult and expensive.
The value for our money was top-notch for this hotel. The staff were terrific, and the breakfast in the dining room was wonderful. The location of the hotel facing onto a centreal square and park, was exceptional.
The hotel was very nice. It was clean and the hotel was located in the centre of Braga. They had a small but nice bar area and the restaurant was very nice with a small outdoor sitting area in the back. No parking. We had to park across the park and drag our luggage up three flights of stairs, across the park and into the hotel. This was a major pain in the butt. Also, there was no discounted rate at the parking garage. It cost us 21 euro to park there for little over a day.
A professionally run hotel in a historical building; tastefully converted. A friendly welcomed from all staff. The rooms are light comfortable, and warm - with a welcoming pack of fruit and mineral water on arrival. Well stocked mini bar. The location is very central and the restaurant is very good. Breakfast is fantastic, caters for all tastes and even offers soya milk! Intensive positive experience for a short stay. This is a minor point: The furniture fittings are due for a refurb soon; but the bathroom fittings and fixtures were very effective and stylish. The restaurant could offer more vegetarian options.
Very convenient for the centre of Braga. Good sized room. Good Bathroom.
Had a good stay at hotel.
Excelent cost/benefit relation. Not lux, but very good. Not much good on services.
The room was very large and the bed was also big and confortable. It's really near to the train station and the city center.
Hotel receptionist was very helpful in dealing with our travel problmes due to the Portuguese general strike. Nothing
The view from the window was nice, the bathroom was good, breakfast served very early. It was just across the train station, convenient if catching an early train. One of the twin beds felt like covered with polythene. The hotel needs to be updated, the carpet was smelling when we entered the room, but it was ok when the balcony was opened.
the cleaner was superb
Simple but clean and functional. A real deal for the price. Central location for business and tourism, comprehensive breakfast, secure parking. With one word: can be recommended
the location is excellent, next to the train station and few minutes off the gate of the old town, making it very convenient for the short stays. the room i had was spacious, well equipped. staff was excellent (preparing me early breakfast on the departure day) and speaking excellent English. all in all - excellent value for money
The staff were excellent and very friendly. Paintwork on the wall of room needed work.
the room had a balcony the breakfast room was badly light and very dark and unwelcoming
the room was really good and the view amazing it was a little out of town but the taxis were quite cheap you just need to factor that with the excellent value the hotel offers
Everything was more than excellent. A suggestion: isolate the walls.
Personal welcome/service from owners who were friendly and very obliging. Excellent 3* hotel
Every thing;specially the kindness and hospitality of the staff and the owners, great people Abosultly nothing
Staff were very helpful A bit dated and right on a junction of 2 rather noisy roads. Were only there one night and it was a cool evening and the roads got quieter at night ; but would not enjoy it (and could not properly enjoy balcony) in warm weather
We had a health problem during our stay and hotel staff went to an extraordinary length to assist us in getting medical assistance on a Sunday plus the appropriate medication.
Very friendly staff
Very helpful staff, large rooms (can fit 2 extra beds for children), excellent breakfast, very good price. A bit outdated and not many facilities, but okay for a 3* hotel and compensated by the size of the rooms. The restaurant is not great, the others next to the hotel are a lot better.
Very nice hotel, exelent hotel. Very nice views also. It is a bit far away from the city center, but the taxi is about 8 EUR and the park is very quiet, so you can relax.
We got a fabulous suite for a very affordable price. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The photo of the hotel that appears in the website do not correspond to the actual hotel.
Staff were very helpful and eager to help and acommodate guest preferences. A small fridge would be useful.
Very helpful and friendly staff, clean comfortable room and bathroom. Close proximity to Minho University for conference attendance at affordable price.
Breakfast choice was very limited.
Pleasant and konwledgeable staff. Good internet access. Easy Motorway access. Contray to the hotel description smoking is allowed, on individual room balconys. No kettle in room. No fridge in room a "minibar" is not necessary but a fridge is an essential item in the local climate. The hotel is actually located on the opposite side of the road as shown on the "location" map.
attended a conference at the university campus gualtar lack of fridge in room
All staff was very helpful and nice. Room was clean and comfortable.
The staff were very helpful. The bathroomj was luxurious and the room was comfortable and extremely clean. This hotel is slightly out of Braga and the surrounding area had only a few places to eat in walking distance. This is important as there is no restaurant at the hotel.
Comfortable, modern room and bath, convenient to the university and with a very friendly, helpful staff. Quiet neighborhood with an excellent local restaurant across the road. The accommodation was fairly basic, and the wood floors and thin walls made it too easy to hear the neighbors. The breakfast was rather sparse, and a bus or taxi is needed to get to either the city centre or the Bom Jesus parks.
in the city center small room with bathroom "in the room"(separé), no common space, breakfast poor, impossible to reach by car
location was excellen. Twin room had two large beds and a very large and modern bathrom. N/A
Good location No
Great location, right next to main sq. , very cheap asweell, good breakfast
Central position; helpfulness of staff; language not a barrier
Eco-friendly The fact that don't present any vegan or even vegetarian options in the bar/restaurant, which means it's eco-friendly but not animal-friendly
Nice hotel very close to the main squares and streets.
big room with an excellent view over the city the bathroom was quite primitive (but extremely clean), but most other hotels in Braga have design bathrooms
The staff were very friendly and informative
Helpful staff, calm atmosphere, nice art work on the walls. There's definitely a problem of noise isolation in the rooms; complicated internet access.
We had a big room, but mind you, not all room in this hotel are the same size. Location of the hotel is good: walking distance to downtown.
Clean rooms, comfortable. Friendly staff. Something hot at brewakfast would improve things eg eggs
This is a Residential but is a very good one. The room was clean with a good bed and bathroom. Parking is availbe in a nearby carpark that is FOC and has a private entrance to the hotel. Well kept. Close to the old town (easy walking distance). Previous reference mentions a fire and smoke from this entering the whole of the place. The room I was in was not affected. There is a wood burning fire in the foyer which is a nice feature. The decoration is a little old fashioned. I imagine this being a very good hotel some time in the past.
We spent nearly a week at the hotel and found our stay very enjoyable. The staff were very helpful and eager to please
very hospitable people and helpful
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was fine. Unfortunately, there was street noise at night. The front of the hotel is near a beer-bar. While this may close at midnight, say, the drunks do not go home then but hang araound shouting, etc. one important point for me was that the hotel did offer a small discount to attendees of the conference I was at in braga, but could not honour this because booking was made through your site! So I lost a few euros over that.
Excellent location, wonderful combination of St-John's feast and World Cup Soccer; breakfast very good. Recommended.
The room was clean and spacious. Quiet location. WIFI is extra and fairly expensive
went hiking in the national park, to see a beautiful waterfall and on the way we encountered "wild" horses! the breakfast was rather poor and unprofessional looking(for the usual standard for pousadas)also we had a room in the old part of the hotel were the wood furniture was in urgent need the be repainted!!
Comfortable room; good bathroom. Good service, particularly in restaurant. Our balcony faced due south and needed some shade; balcony furniture rather tired, as is the garden. Restaurant prices are 'sky high', gourmand rather than gourmet. The prices for wine are extortionate; we bought local vinho verde at 3.30, price for exact same in restaurant 17.50! Second night we met other guests also 'Dining out'. Mini-bar same comment.
The restaurant and bar was expensive for the offer
the quiet location the food in the restaurant was not very good and too expensive
Excellent staff - couldn't be more helpful or nice, wonderful views. Overall charming. Small bathroom with poor light, and some humidity in ceiling. We went on a promotion, if I had payed full price I'd say rooms should be better, but for the price we paid it was excellent.
Great view. It is an excelent place to rest.
