Would pefer hotel in the city centre - too far out especially when left stranded after last bus had left - had to catch tram back to city and catch taxi to hotel
Secure courtesy parking. Service-orientated Concierge. Polite, efficient staff. Excellent in-room facilities for coffee/tea making. High-quality restaurant menu and service. Very comfortable, quiet bedroom. Nice view over lake. Nothing to not like.
Cleanliness Access by public transport
Our stay was really very enjoyable - staff were very helpful. Resturant did not cater for children and waiting staff were unable to explain any of the dishes to us.
The hotel is well-decorated. The room size is large and comfortable. Good restaurant at the ground floor. Location is bit far from the city center. Given no clear sign/direction from city center/out of city, it is bit difficult to find the hotel.
value for money
Very clean and great value for money, actually it meets all of my expectations.
Good bed and food.
Beautiful place, friendly staff, nice restaurant Too far out of town, not many restaurants etc near the hotel. The room and lobby were constantly really hot, the pool wasn't available, all extras were really expensive - twenty euros per person for breakfast!
The excellent standard of accommodation plus the breakfast buffet.
first class hotel just outside mian city but easy tram ride to centre, very nice rooms and food, good value for money, good secure parking. NO
Staff were helpful, room was comfortable. I was unlucky as they were redecorating on first floor so strong smell of paint in corridors. Hotel lacked any real atmosphere. Bit too far from city centre.
Very comfortable with extremely accomadating staff. incredibly good breakfast facilities. Wonderfully comfortable bed. The heating in the room was very dificult to adjust.
The Hotel was clean and the staff very friendly - Cycle station outside the hotel was excellent value for money and fun
Parking was available for guests, under the property. There was no lift from parking to Reception - only stairs. Reception staff appeared disinterested in foreign guests. Hotel is a fair distance from the main business / shopping precinct. Promotion material indicate the hotel is located amongst "genteel" neighbourhood. This was definitely an over-statement.
The rooms are great
Nice welcome. Fair sized room. Good selection for breakfast, excellent food in restaurant and comfortable bar. Bit further from the town centre than expected and staff in restaurant didn't appear very interested.
There was no gym in a four star hotel...
It was calm, quiet and comfortable; reasonably clean and well maintained. The staff was limited and cleanliness could be improved.
The location is very good, near to the very modern and easy to navigate tram. The staff were very friendly and really cared about us. no
Service from staff was very good.
this is our 5th stay at the Burdigala and as always the service was excellent. The concierge are particularly helpful and obliging - any room requests were delt with expediantly. Excellent.
Dining Room, and friendly staff,wi fi , need tea coffeein room facility.
The bathroom could you some cleaning, and the price of the hotel is way too high for what you get.
service and evening meals excellent breakfast far too expensive
The friendliness and competence of the staff No
Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Price quality ratio is under par. Hotel is quite expensive and the 5 star rating is somewhat overdone. Beds were good, but blankets is a bit outdated and one would not expect that in a 5 star hotel. It seems that the hotel aims at business travelers, however, there was no WiFi in the hotel, only a business corner.
Staff was good, air conditioning. Fairly hard bed, location made it not worth the price of 153 Euro I paid.
Breakfast was not included.
Location and facilities
Hotel location is very well.Easy to go to central part of city.Room facilities are well. There are so many group tourist. So some time , very difficult to take elevater and to get information from front desk.
Close to city centre. comfortable clean hotel.
The bed was comfortable, room was big and bathroom was great
The hotel canceled my reservation 2 hours before I checked in as they claimed that could not charge my credit card. When I arrived they asked for a bigger rate.. Who does that??
modern stylish hotel, excellent room, perfectly clean, great breakfast, very fast lifts, kind staff, quiet location, easy access to hotel (but not right in down town)
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The room was actually quite cosy, nice and comfortable bed and sizeable bathroom with good shower. I liked the coffee/tea maker in the room. Breakfast was 15 euros and slightly lacking in choice.
Room hadn't a double bed, but two single beds.
good room and breakfast location
Good efficient staff. Great location. Fantastic views from roof. Handy for trams and city centre.
Trays not being collected from corridor outside rooms promptly. One tray was not collected for approx 18 hours - looked very poor to visitors
breakfast on the roof terrace desk staff was not friendly or very helpfull
Very relaxing & comfortable room, soothing decor.
location Food was not great.
This hotel is in an excellent location in Bordeaux only 500 meters from the river Garonne boardwalk, many restaurants, trams and rental cycles. The hotel is only two tram stops from the center of Borbeaux and has all the essentials. If the sun is shining breakfast on the roof is a joy with great views of Bordeaux. Staff were very helpful, polite and courteous. The hallways/corridors in the hotel are on the poor side but then they do not directly affect the stay.
Very well located to access the city, Tram stop 2 minuites from hotel. All staff encountered were friendly & very helpful.
friendly, helpful staff
room windows dont open
I had a nice, quiet, clean room. The hotel location was good. The hotel was under construction, which was unfortunate.
Very clean, modern and comfortable. Lovely hot shower. Staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent location. No tea or coffee making facilities!
The staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was somewhat expensive.
The location was excellent. Elevators were very very slow. Lighting in the halls was bad.
Big, comfortable double bed and spacious bathroom. Hotel in ideal position from which to explore Bordeaux. Staff efficient and friendly. Would be sensible to include kettle and tea/coffee in room as matter of course rather than by request.
Excellent restaurants and cafes abd breakfast.
we were able to procure a bright room on the square, beautifully decorated with toile fabric. excellent bathrooms with wood and marble/granite. our initial room was very dark and overly done in dark faux-curtain wallpaper. but a good sized room!
Delightfull hotel with very nice rooms
The service is excellent there - they make you feel very welcoming - effortless and unassuming. Nothing
all went clockwork - we aked to rent a car: it arrived i ntime at the right price etc . Great hotrel - great value for money !
Location Deluxe room: Small & outdated Wall view Breakfast
Attention to details. Service. Aircon. Central location no need to use car as tram service first class also. Staff very helpfull and pleasent.Breakfast and dining very good. All in all an excellent stay! Lighting in room could be brighter bedside reading lights could be a lot more effective if the flexi arm was longer ! Bathroom hot water did not appear to be thermostatically controlled !
Stayed at the hotel for three nights. The restaurant was superb, other than having a table full of Chinese next to us who had two interpreters running around the table explaining/translating. Still an enjoyable meal non-the-less, and chef Pascal Nibaudeau came and spoke with us which was nice - although only because he had to come and 'shmooze' the Chinese clients who I assume were carrying big bank books! Location is great, right next to the shopping area, opposite the opera house and two mins from the tourist centre and tour buses. Reception and concierge were very helpful. The room was well finished and luxurious, however it consisted of a very narrow hallway with the mini-bar, safe etc being right at the entry, and the bedroom at the other end - the oddest shaped hotel room I've stayed in. Virtually no room to place an open suitcase let alone two, which for the price we payed was not good enough. Unfortunately the hotel's gym and spa were still being constructed, which we were not advised when booking. The staff at the bar were not attentive at all, and on two occassions I had to get up and order drinks - not great when they are standing around chatting instead of servicing the customer. The couple beside us didn't hold back on their criticism! Not good enough for a 5 star hotel.
The hotel is right in the city centre, very close to shopping area. The staff is very helpful in all our questions. The room is not too big so preferably a medium size luggage suits better. The traffic is very heavy, it took more than 1 hour to reach the hotel from the city outskirt!
The location is ideal and the staff were very friendly
The staff, especially the concierge managers, were helpful, pleasant, and went out of their way to assist, without asking. Very well trained and gracious. We enjoyed being on the main Place of the Grand Theatre; sitting outside on the terrace was delightful. Comp. bottles of gazeuse and plat water each day in the room was a nice touch. We were on the top floor, converted from attic rooms, so the ceiling was low and the windows were much smaller than those of the floors underneath. The lighting in the room did not compensate for this and it was impossible to read either a book or a newspaper. The drapes were luscious, but covered the small windows. Would have liked a coffee/tea tray in the room.
Helpful staff. Nice breakfast! Steps away from St. Jean's tram station. Rooms are toooooooooo small! Specially since we were travelling with a 19 months old baby. Putting a crib in the room practically left no space for anything else!
Staff were very helpful. Room was comfortable. We were even able to borrow a screwdriver to mend my suitcase handle. Being close to the station, it was a bit noisy at night, but we had chosen it on purpose because it was convenient, so we were not bothered by the trains. The breakfast was a bit more expensive than we expected, but it was excellent, with a good choice of food .
Perfect location for fast stay: close to rail station and next to tram station to bring you into the center very quickly. Staff very friendly. We could even leave our bags in the storage till midnight.
Staff and breakfast The room smelt of cigarettes
The location near the Gare St Jean The noise from the street in the early hours of the morning
Very close to transport system to central Bordeaux
Friendly and helpful staff
Lovely clean, fresh hotel very conveniently located to Gare du Bordeaux. Staff were very helpful and spoke fluent English. Parking is a little tricky.
Nice and helpfull staff Location - not a nice nabohood and far from city center.
Very helpful staff. The vibrant colour scheme.
Reasonably close to all amenities and the local area appeared to be safe at night. Easy access to the old town and trams buses to explore further afield. Car parking available nearby was 22 Euros per day - no discount for hotel users. The bedroom windows open fully inward and the sill is quite low - not a good idea in a family room.
Walking distance to the city center Horrible room service
The fact, that it was pretty close to city centre, and tram station. No parking for hotel guests. Too expensive rate of 21€ per day, so our room was basically 21€ more expensive than planned.
Being near centre of city
The staff were excellent - very helpful at al times.
Good selection of breakfast and well presented in bedromm. Room very clean and confortable. Bad access to parking although public parking available at 60 meters, but no direct access to the hotel.
well located for access to city centre parking unavailable and car park recommended was extortionately expensive
Excellent hotel, which is way above it's three star rating in staff, competence, facilities, comfort and quality. Nothing
Good shower good to have kettle and coffee clean and fresh smell need better tv channels
It was very clean, there was an extra sofa bed for my children, very quiet, free English newspapers, and free parking There was a terrible smell of sewage in the hallway which fortunately did not enter the room, the shower nozzle was hard. A hot water heater would have been nice to have tea in the room.
Edgy hip hotel. Great design In the bathroom we would prefer more functional design like more space to put cosmetics and toiletries than hip design.
The reception staff was not very friendly, just talking on the phone and letting us wait for more than 15 minutes to chock in/out
Really excellent design of room - lots of space and light, and much enjoyed the private rooftop balcony from which the Garonne could be seen. Huge bath, good storage space, good quality furnishings. Room service was very efficient and friendly. Onsite secure parking was highly valued. Free sauna, steam room and massage-chair was the icing on the cake. Great sense of privacy throughout, and lack of stuffiness. Fabulous farmers' market in the Chartrons district. Location feels rathre far from centre. Although nice to be near the waterfront, the streets around the hotel are rather lacking in charm. This may improve as the area becomes more popular due to the recent extensive renovation of the promenade. More cafes and brasseries would add to the atmosphere.
A most funky design hotel - very inspiring and refreshing! And it was convenient as a tram stop is only across the road (les Hangars if I recall). Lovely place; great bar; and within close proximity of the designer shops and restaurants within the Hangar 14-18 complexes, which thrilled my wife! Brillant, overall.
Amazing, especially their housekeeping department, our room always get well cleaned, even though we only left for 2 hours in the late afternoon. Their staff even organised our clothes while cleaning!
Nice and quiet rooms. Bathroom with a big bath tube. The river Garonne is just close to the hotel. Personally I think the price for the breakfast is to high.
Easy access to the city centre via the local tram, loved the room decor and design, and parking was very convenient.
Rooms are very stylish and confortable. Ideal for someone who wants a new experience in a different surrounding. Staff is not well trained, not very friendly, not professional. Service is thus not adapted to a hotel of this category.
Centrally located, helpful to degree, limited english but otherwise easy enough to get to all the sights. No printer on computer
excellent position. curteous staff. good choice of tv channels. overall many more positives than negatives poorly designed bathroom. no shelf for toiletries. no shelf in shower for shower gel. no loo brush!
very clean lovely reception staff location very little natural light in the room
Leaving There was nothing to like.
English speaking staff Position of hotel Very small rooms
Breakfast with fresh product, recently renovated, clean unfriendly personnel, no luggage storage room, no toilet for customers other than the rooms
Really good value hotel in an excellent location in central Bordeaux. The rooms are a bit small, but more than adequate for a short break.
friendly staff, great location
oui no hair dryer in washing clost
Otel yepyeni, tertemiz, tasarimi cok hostu.
Her turlu imkanlar mevcuttu. Apart olması nedeniyle odada yemek pisirme imkani oldugundan bazi odalar kotu kokuyordu. Personel bu durumda hic yardimci olmadi. Davranislari cok kotu idi.
near to the train station tiny room
well- located, friendly helpful staff the bathroom was like one in a submarine-tiny!, minuscule room had barely enough room for 2 people to move
Cheep & Clean Room too Small & Bathroom far too small
Walking distance to the center. The shower was not so cleaned, maybe cause too old.
the parking was secure, staff were friendly and helpfull;the hotel was well positioned it rained
Services, friendly people rooms were dirty
Location to the train station is convient if only staying one night. Bit far to walk into the city of Bordeaux from the hotel. Also the whole hotel is boat themed. The rooms are trying to be a cabin on a ship but it is just tacky.
i liked the breakfast (buffet). Location was good as it was right next to the tram stop. Small room and bathroom.
Would have liked a safe either in room or at front desk
The hotel was very well located in the "golden triangle" of the city. Rooms were small, but very well designed. Breakfast unusual rich for France. The atmosphere of the hotel was very pleasant - especially the paintings in the lobby and in rooms.
When we checked in we asked for a cab to the airport at 430am to the airport and were told by the front desk clerk not to bother going to the airport until at least 530 si ce it did not open until 6am I happened to know this was not the case but the clerk debated us on this for a while and seemed to ignore our request until we became insistent. Had we listened to her we would have certainly missed our flight. Mostly I don't want to debate MY travel plans I would rather just receive assistance instead of engage in a debate.
Very friendly staff.
Possibility to make fresh orange juice. Not to be.
Location and value for money - asked for a bright room and got one! Breakfast was very good - nothing to fault
comfortable bed and fridge in room Bedroom was very small and shower over bath was constrained and difficult to use.
Central location, Air Conditioning, room fittings, balcony If we had been driving, it would have been impossible to get the car to the hotel (the hotel is in a traffic free area).
The hotel was in an excellent location the breakfast rooms were very small and overcrowded so all guests could not eat in breakfast room
Excellent location; friendly, helpful staff with good knowledge of English; nice breakfast. The room was a bit too small.
location small rooms . . . but it's Europe!
Simple family hotel, big suite with two rooms so perfect for perants and kids
The room was very smoky
the hotel was right beside the tram line which made access to the city very easy room was a good size for the amount of people that were in my group staff were very helpfull and polite the only problem was that the toilet was a bit unpleasent due to the smell, but the real problem was that every one in france goes on their holidays during the first two weeks of august which meant that a lot of the restaurants were closed. including the hotel. this did not stop us having a good time on our vacation. bordeaux is a wonderfull city.
Quiet and clean hotel No air condition
Nothing Room not serviced on arrival.Had to return to reception after being given key and wait while room was serviced. No tea or coffe making facilities. No glasses to drink from.Supplied with stove top but no utensils.
Convenient for the tram to get into the centre of town Over priced for what it was, not all the beds were made up and also breakfast was not included and we still had to pay 140 euros for the night + 24 euros for breakfast on top . Not worth it at all.
The hotel furnishings are rather tired and we were surprised to find that it is a twenty minute tram ride to the centre of Bordeaux.
Pleasant service, clean room and surprisingly quiet and peacefull. Perfect if visiting the hostpital nearby. Lights on the landing automatically turn off rather too quickly and I was plunged into dark when still trying to find the room or door to the lifts.
Rapid, efficient check in. Leaky bath, missing parts on taps. No welcome tray.
Comfortable bed It was dark throughout, with the exception of the reception area. I was scared to move around the hotel on my own as it was so dark and quiet.
just few steps from St. Jean train station makes this a prefect tactical location. Car rental places are located on reverse side of the station. Hotel is located 25 minutes walking distance from city center. Tramway system works very well. A great place for budget lunch - a traditional brasserie called Bar-Cave is 10 minutes walking (2 tramway stops) from hotel. There is an excellent restaurant on the same street called la Tupiña that is not be missed! Room can get noisy at night if facing the gare.
The location is just 50 meters from the train station. Inexpensive and relevantly quiet. The toilet door was scary and hardly sliding (after all a simple curtain could do better).
Comfortable room and clean bathroom. Train station and Tram stop in front of the hotel. Not so clean carpet in the room. Having to leave the room key at the reception every time you go out.
the hotel is convenient located directly oposit of the station. For a 2* hotel the decoration is up to date, nice and trendy; nothing oldfashioned. For the small price difference it's worthwhile to book the bigger rooms the double bedroom we booked had only toilet tools for 1 person. The reception provided those for the 2nd person directly upon our request
excellent location, friendly staff, clean rooms.
Central site in city- very convenient Bedroom furniture rather basic En-suite shower-room/toilet very small
The hotels were simple yet comfortable. Clean hotel and very friendly and helpful staff. Location was great for us as we were leaving at 5am from the station which is located opposite the hotel. However the city centre is a short tram ride away.
Its position for access to:- a) the Navette/Shuttle Bus to and from the Airport b) the Railway Station c) local Bus Services and Trams No. We enjoyed our stay and liked the hotel.
Good location in front of the train station, this may explian the more expensive price compared to equivalent hotels / Bon emplacement en face de la gare, ce qui doit expliquer le prix plus élevé comparé aux autres hôtel équivalents. No Internet until the very last minute before leaving the hôtel, it was obvious that the hôtel network was down and was not reliable. This is bad when you need this for working and a good Internet access is a key criteria for me. Single rooms in the back have no view at all / pas d'accès Internet jusqu'au départ. Dommage quant c'est un critère de choix d'hotel. Les chambres simples a l'arrière n'ont aucune vue.
Extremely friendly and efficient staff who made us very welcome The room was fine but the bathroom impossible due to size.I am over 6ft tall and my wife is recovering from two hip replacement operations and adopting a" side saddle" position was the only way we could use the toilet. The distance between the seat and the partition in front(18cm approx) is totally inadequate. What a pity at such a well run hotel!!
