This Hotel was really beautiful : nice furnitures, typiacally italian. The terrasse for the breafast was great with the view on Amalfi and the sea
I stayed in one of superior double rooms. It was spacious and had beautiful view and a jacuzzi. Breakfast was fair, and I liked cappucino.
friendly helpfull staff
Convenience to public transportation in a town full of steps. Lovely breakfast room with view and helpful in suggesting smaller, less touristy restaurants. Although on a busy street facing the harbor, my room was quiet at night, which was a bonus. I would go back.
Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Great location. Even though the hotel faces a busy street, when you close the french doors and shutters, it is very quiet.
excellent location and facilities. quiet, comfortable, spacious and convenient. Helpful staff no complaints at all
Helpful staff Very basic accomodation for the cost
It is close to the beach and in the middle of town. The room had sea view, and the price was reasonable. New doors to the balcony kept the sun and noise outside, the room was totally dark at night so we slept very well. Breakfast at a beautiful terrace.
The location was excellent. Seaside and right in town for conveniences. Traveling with my 85 year old mother and she uses a wheelchair. This hotel was very accommodating for her. Nothing
Location was great - the breakfast area overlooked Amalfi beach and the hotel was so close to the bus and ferry terminals. The room was spotlessly clean and staff were very friendly.
Great atmosphere, spectacular views and good service.
We can be satisfied of wonderful scenery in Amalfi from among room in a hotel. It was a simple actually room only in the window though said that it would prepare the room where the view with the terrace was good when confirming it by telephone. It had time sad not to accept at all though May also was transmitting in the meaning of the confirmation. And It was made to pay 20 Euro higher than the amount of money confirmed by telephone. It seems not to have a too good impression for the Japanese.
Our room had a stunning view of the coastline. The food was excellent and staff were very helpful. The restaurant 'Ristorante la Torre Saracena' across from the hotel has terrible food especially for the price and the service is weak...
location 's very nice. Hotel's restaurant by the sea was very romantic. you can see the sea from room's window. Hotel's interior and exterior were also very very nice. a porte-cochere man was excellent!!
It's location is superb. The views from both public and private rooms are spectacular. The staff is excellent and anticipates needs. It's ambience - converted from a convent dating to 1222 - is wonderful. Shower curtain.
Location is spectacular, excellent staff service, unique pool situation with access to the sea. Beautifully clean, historic rooms. Great atmosphere and the restaurant food was wonderful (and the view amazing). Of particular note were the wonderful staff, all helpful, cheerful and genuinely 'sympatico' and appeared truly pleased to help us enjoy our stay. I would highly recommend the hotel for a relaxing, peaceful break and from which to explore wonderful Amalfi. It was recommended to me by a friend and Hotel Luna exceeded my expectations. If for no other reason, stay here for the pool! One very small thing, they need to provide more towel/clothes hooks or rails in the bathroom for hanging towels, swimsuits and beach clothes!
Really everything about Luna appeals but the family service and the location along with the history and charm of the building appeals most
Superb location with stunning sea views from our room. Very good breakfast buffet. Helpful and friendly staff. Good facilities including a great cloistered open air sitting area in the middle of the hotel. Limited choice of dinner menu options though food was pretty good. We stayed out of seaon so it may well be that in the high season they offer a greater choice. Good pool though the general area around it would benefit from a general update.
Everything is great!
Beautiful place with great service. Bathroom was in need of an update but functioned fine and was clean.
nothing Huge noise from air conditioning which is unnecessary for outside temperature of 15 degree celcius.
Everything was fantastic. The staff was courteous, the lodging was fabulous, and the proximity to everything you want and need in Amalfi is the best. Absolutely not.
The staff were very helpful and the location of the hotel was ideal. We also enjoyed the breakfast provided. They had a good selection of breakfast items (both quantity and quality) and excellent service.
the staff was amazing and made our stay incredible. The closeness to everything downtown was also a huge plus. it is noisy over a main street and has bottles breaking as the city recycling bins are just around the corner and picked up at 5:30am every day.
view from balcony
Good location, nice staff and a lovely boutique feel. Good location, nice staff and a lovely boutique feel.
Everything was perfect! Very comfortable.
Staff is really nice but the place needs work. we had ants in the room, safe didn't work in the room. the staff doesn't speak any english there was mold on the AC. the bed was uncomfortable the water didn't run properly. I wish we spent more money and stayed somewhere else. It was our honeymoon too
Location, view from terrace Early morning road noise
central location building site in front of hotel
The views from the terrace at breakfast. Was extremely disappointed with this hotel having read good reviews of same in advance of booking. It was not clear that this hotel is very small, more of a boutuque family run hotel with few services, basic rooms. Rooms were not spacious and were very small. This was the last hotel we stayed at on the amalfi coast and by far the most disappointing and the least value for money, completely overpriced! Would classify it as more of a budget/backpackers than a 4 star hotel. We booked this hotel as we wanted three days of rest and relaxation at the end of our holiday and the website showed decking with loungers etc. Upon check in we were directed to a beach down the street where we were obliged to pay for loungers.
Really excellent staff, very friendly end helpfull. I love them !!! Great central lokation. At the night is the lokation (a street side) a bit noise, windows are not a sound proof...
It was very close to restaurants, beach and activities. Very convenient.
We are amarried couple, who travelled with our two children aged 8 and 11. For us, the stay at Hotel Amalfi was very nice. We had a functional family room at the hotel, which is nicely situated; close to the sea - yet withdrawn from the most busy part of town. The hotel garden was very pleasant. Both children liked to sit there and read, pet the cat and discover the trees and flowers growing there. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking Amalfi and its surroundings was great! Furthermore, the staff was very helpful. The tour operator (bus + guide) they recommended for Pompeii-Vesuv was wonderful and made the trip a good experience for both childeren and grown-ups. The staff in general were very nice to children. An additional plus: The night watchman showed us where the light swithch of the roof terrace was so that my husband and I could there to read and write postcards after the kids had gone to bed.
Reception staff excellent, and very helpful, informative. Hotel location good, room clean, breakfast lovely! Cleaning staff start early, and are not very quiet...
The location of the hotel was great -right in the middle of town and an easy walk to the beach. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a nice terrace and a newly renovated bathroom. The ac also worked great (and was well worth the 10 Euro/day investment). The staff was very helpful in suggesting day trips and other things to do in the area. We had a car with us, but didn't need to use it during our 4-day stay as everything is accesible by bus or boat and it is impossible to find a parking space anyway. The breakfasts were simple, but good enough and were served on a delightful roof terrace. You are really getting value for money by staying here. Friends of ours recently stayed at a 4-star hotel on the water. Their hotel was fine, but they literally paid DOUBLE what we did! I don't think that's worth it for a sea view! We would definitely stay at Hotel Amalfi again. There were two things that could have been better: - My mom (a senior citizen) was on the trip with us and stayed in a separate room. Unfortunately her room had a bath that hadn't been renovated that included a deep bathtub with a shower hose that you had to hold in your hands. This type of shower is not great for older folks or anyone with a physical disability. When we left, we mentioned this to the staff, and they said that we should have spoken up sooner and they would have changed her room. - The second item was the elevator which is very small with room for four at a time (or two people with luggage). We got stuck in it twice where the power and lights went off and it just stopped for about 10 seconds. The owner assured us that there was nothing to worry about, but for someone with claustrophobia, it was not ideal. I used the stairs for the rest of our stay...
Very pleased, good accommodation very helpful staff, excellent location and great breakfast. Large paciaour rooms and plenty of hangers!
I absolutely loved this hotel, it was one of the best l stayed in whilst in Italy. The staff were delightful, very friendly, helpful and informative. The rooms were clean and bright and very comfortable. Central location. Breakfast was great and the breakfast room has a beautiful terrace with a great view of Amalfi.
The hotel and location are AWESOME. It doesn't get any better than this No internet access but right at the bottom of the stairs there was an internet place that was open til 9pm. Not too bad.
very nice hotel, very clean. friendly, great staff.
Location was good, parking on spot, had to pay but it was convenient. Needs more cleanlines especially bedding, rooms need more furnishings.
Our room in Residence Luce is very clean, comfortable and spacious. Because of low season, we've got upgraded to a junior suite which was very nice. The breakfast was much better than we expected for a B&B. There were cheese, ham, eggs, juices, milk, cereals, muffins, different types of bread, cakes, tarts and even fresh fruits, though I think there were only two of us there. We can see that lots of efforts were made to build a reputation for the place.
The location of the hotel is perfect, very nice and comfortable, and the people are very welcoming and helpfull!
very friendly -- superb welcome, help with car parking by owner Vincenzo because the apartment was stayed in is 2-story, when the heat was on, the lower part was a bit cold when the top was comfortable.
Vincenzo and his staff were so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was comfortable and immaculate. Vincenzo's cafe, located a few steps away in a quiet piazza provided a nice refuge from the nearby touristy and busy duomo piazza. I would stay at the hotel again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel on the Amalfi Coast.
centrally located near the dome plaza in Amalfi center - easy to find and only a 300 m from the central bus station in Amalfi - a very warm welcome by Vincenzo's very friendly team - tasteful furnished rooms - lovelly house and people - we would always choose Residenza Luce again! nothing
Brilliant staff, lovely room, great location. This place really did live up to all of the very positive customer reviews.
The hotel location is marvelous. Enjoying the street from the balcony (Yes the room had a beautiful balcony ) to the Amalfi center. The family environment made me feel like home. our daughter enjoyed the stay a lot. The room we stayed was cleverly split with a intermediate floor as bedroom increasing the space.
The room was very clean and the attention to detail was excellent. The prices of the mini bar was very reasonable and the location was right in the middle of the town. Would be good to know in advance that the parking wasn't free but it wasn't a major problem.
staff is so kind.
This was our favourite place in all of Italy! Vinchenzo went out of his way at every oppertunity to help us, organizing both a trip to Pompei and a cooking lesson for us. The hotel is beautiful, clean and spacious. It was truly the only place we stayed that had thoughtful and modern decor. Breakfast was delicious, and there was a big spread every morning (cheeses, bread, meats, cakes, pastries, oj, yogurt and coffee). We would stay again without hesitation. Nothing. Vinchenzo and his family were lovely, warm and helpful. The room was clean and modern with beautiful tiles and hardwood. The loft was nice because it gave us more room to spread out and relax.
Staff were very helpful with hints on where to dine, etc. and also very welcoming.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff with all my questions, the room and the location of the hotel.
The breakfasts were terrific - a good start to the day.
Before our stay at this hotel I wasn't sure if we should have booked a pricy hotel in Positano or if I had done the right decision staying in Amalfi. After visiting Positano, which I thought was an over populated tourist trap overflowing by shops selling overpriced things made in china, Amalfi was a breath of fresh air. The town is super cute, the hotel is very well located, the beds were very comfy (not extremely hard like the rest of the beds in our trip), the breakfast was great and the jacuzzi was amazing, we went at night and it was the perfect way to relax after a day of walking a lot. The staff was very friendly and they made dinner reservations per our request. Highly recommended! Driving was a little stressful but if you follow the hotel's instructions and wait for the light and drive slow, you'll be fine.
Very helpful staff, nice room, free parking, great location
Great room with excellent bath, good location, friendly helpful owner. Our suite had just been built and everything was new. There was even a Jacuzzi tub in the loft and fluffy bathrobes. The breakfast room had a vaulted ceiling with a fresco on it. Right in the center of town next to the church. Free parking. Steps up from the street were steep and uneven. No handicapped access. After parking the car, we loaded our overnight things into a backpack for the walk to the hotel.
Hotel staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help during our stay. The location was also excellent and the room was beautiful, with a huge jacuzzi bath and seating area, which really added to our experience during our stay in Amalfi. The only thing that let the hotel down very slightly was charging for instant coffee and tea bags in the room, which I thought was a shame considering we had booked a junior suite. It was a very minor fault though, and in all we had a fantastic time.
position was excellent, and staff friendly no
The Hotel Floridiana is an outstanding choice for visiting the Amalfi Coast. With a perfect location, incredible staff, and very nice rooms, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. If you have a car, it will require a bit of navigating through the narrow street (make sure you wait for the green light, which is mounted near the bar at the end of the square and tough to see).
The location of the hotel is ideal as it is right by the main square. The room was tastefully decorated. The buffet breakfast was a little bare compared to similar hotels that I have stayed at in other towns on my trip.
The staff were lovely and very welcoming. The style, cleanliness and spacious of the rooms.
Large room with great location in the centre of Amalfi. A little bit noise from the piazza at early night, but no problem living with. Nice and friendly staff.
The view from the rooms (especially the best placed - nos. 22, 23 and 24), of Amalfi's cathedral, its square and its mountainous backdrop is magnificent, and endlessly interesting. The hotel is extremely well placed, within 2-3 minutes of the terminus of the Coast's buses and of its boat services, and at the very heart of this fascinating town. All this in an attractive hotel, with a most friendly atmosphere. Greatly recommended. All fine, except that your reviews (and your overall ratings for the hotel) are greatly skewed by the erroneous inclusion of one for a (much disliked) hotel in Rome - rated overall at 2.5! I think that you should correct this error immediately.
It is very central, facing the duomo and a stone's throw from the beach. Plan on being woken up by the church bells early on a Sunday morning! The person on reception when we arrived was particularly sleazy, which did not inspire confidence in the hotel.
Fantastic location and view. Service was friendly and remarkable!! Breakfast as a big plus.. Relaxing and Fun!!! The shower was kind of small, but it's Italy... Not too upset about that.
The Cappuccinos were awesome, the room was clean & comfortable. The walls must be paper thin because you could so clearly hear everything in the piazza below. I didn't find the staff to be friendly or at all helpful.
Its location and our room, no. 21, overlooking the square was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The fact that there is no hotel restaurant meant eating out every night and Amalfi restaurants are expensive and all very similar. It is a lovely place but a short stay is sufficient.
great room, great staff, good time Reserved hotel with credit card, yet they said that they could not accept my card due to their machine being down (not the first hotel I heard this at during my 2 week stay in Italy) so I had to cough up $150 euros in cash which put a big dent in my spending cash
The view was of the ocean and was spectacular. The bathroom was beautifully tiled blue and amazing looking. The service was friendly and welcoming. Compared to other hotels in the area at the time, we found after booking that the price was much more than average making it not ideal for the overage in price.
The staff were really helpful and eager to please. The rooms were clean and the complimentary breakfast was satisfactory. In general, hotels in Amalfi are hard to access and this one is no exception. While the staff thinks the hotel is easy to find, it isn't for someone new to the area. Be prepared to haul your luggage up a ton of seemingly endless stairs. Our room was also located right next to the lobby and when the staff came in in the morning, we got woken up to them chatting away. They also came in and stealthy cleaned our room while we were at breakfast one of the mornings which we thought was a bit strange because we weren't given the opportunity to lock things away and do what we needed to. It was just weird.
Excellent location in the centre of Amalfi and close to transport links. Generous sized and tastefully decorated rooms. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed breakfast on the roof terrace. We had a room at the front of the Hotel. This gave us a balcony and views onto the main street in Amalfi but it also gave us the noise of very early deliveries to the supermarket opposite the hotel.
We found this Hotel small and charming. Great location, on the main street, so very convenient to attractions and shopping! Staff very helpful and pleasant. We would definitely stay here again!
The location was perfect. It was easy to get to with luggage from the bus station. The rooms were comfortable and large and perfect for 3 single friends traveling together. Wonderful rooftop area which was perfect to sit in the afternoon to relax. The noise from the street, but this comes with the location, being in such a central area we did expect the noise.
The hotel had a lovely 'boutique' feel to it, and was right in the centre of Amalfi, and close to the beach. The restaurants in Amalfi were lovely- we ate very well indeed! We also found the people to be very helpful and friendly.
excellent location...charming rooms...tv, hairdryers, friendly staff...although they did not speak much english ask for a room not on the street side as it was noisy
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the view from the hotel over the marina was soothing and the town center was a 5 min walk along the prominade.
Very cental. Easy access to boats for tours.
close proximity to the centre of town and bus terminus. View from our balcony and window over the small harbour. Menu changed every night. No
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Advice regarding day trips etc. was freely given and time was taken to help with our queries. The night staff were excellent and a credit to the hotel. While the hotel was clean and I do appreciate that it is in an expensive area, it is relatively old fashioned and overall the value for money was not very good. In recessionary times I feeel that there is a need for all hotels to look at these matters and reduce prices. The Amalfi coast hotels are not immune to this fact.
This is a very nice 3 star hotel, situated in a 5 star location! You couldn't ask for a more beautiful place. Only one gripe! The breakfast, although a variety was offered, it never differed in the week we stayed. I can get very bored of ham & cheese, cerals and bread rolls.
Nice view of the ocean and Amalfi coast. It was a bit difficult to find the location by car. continental breakfast was only average.
Excellent location in Amalfi - close to amenities, restaurants, boats and buses. Staff particularly helpful. A comfortable hotel. We would definitely go back and met a number of 'returners' which speaks volumes! Breakfasts could have been more exciting, but were ample. One suggestion - useful to have chairs on the balconies of rooms?
The ambience of the hotel is really homely and unique. The bed was more comfortable than bed at home. The view from terrace at Breakfast (which was hearty) was awesome. The free internet was appreciated. No complaints, everything was great. Maybe just provide a more detailed map to guests.
location was good, sea wiev balconies perfect. breakfast was poor, old fashion rooms but clean.Don't go there in November because all restaurants closed.
The location was fantastic and the room was large. The staff at the reception desk were very helpful. The breakfast buffet had the same things every day. Some variety would be nice.
I liked the furniture, the view over the harbour and the sea The traffic on the coastroad was terribly noisy - day and night but OK when the terrace-door was closed.
Staff is kind and friendly. Easy access to center and transportation. Single room is too small. Towels are thin.
A good hotel that is close to the main sights and having the breakfast included was a reason for my choice.
Excellent location, clean and great value for money.
Fantastic location, good size rooms, great air conditioning, extremely clean. Very dated decor in rooms - headboards on beds needed replacing - general update required on furniture in rooms.
The room was very large. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathtub. It is difficult when you are older to get in and out of a tub.
Excellent location, just 20m from Piazza Duomo and 100m from main Amalfi bus terminal. Rate EUR65 single/with simple breakfast was good value (rolls, croissants, great coffee, muesli, cornflakes, yoghurt, cake, juice). Nice family run property. Note that the entrance was a bit tricky to find - when you arrive at the bus station and look up at the bldgs you can see the sign for Lidomare however that is actually the back of the bldg. You need to find your way to the Piazza Duomo and look for the alleyway which is directly opposite the Duomo steps; there are 2 jewellry stores on the corner of the alleyway. Go left up the steps next to the Deutsche Bank office. The room I was given was semi-basement ie. my window was at the street level. I did not have any view albeit did not expect one at the rate I paid. The water pressure was very poor - a problem if you need to wash long hair.
Thorougly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Lidomare. Extremely friendly owners/staff. Great location - right in the centre of Amalfi. Good wii-fi connection (although not free; but a decent rate). Big rooms and decent bathroom. Adequate breakfast. Very happy with my stay here.
great staff breakfast was not too good
beautiful views, large rooms, inexpensive, close to everything. 150 stept to the room not 100 as described (although worth it cause of the view. i was charged extra for the two children even thought i did not get extra cots. no extra towels or toilet paper.
Well situated in town of Amalfi. Had small balcony overlooking small street and had a restaurant directly under it .It was booked as an apartment for 7 nights and because we paid for in advance was reasonably priced in comparison with hotels etc in the area. Contact at the nearby Amalfi Hotel was very helpful in booking us on tours etc. It was a small apartment over a restaurant - which we were not aware of prior to getting there. However as end of season was only very noisy on two nights so not to big an issue for our time there. Apartment very basic - adequate for 2 but basically a studio and not as spacious as the ones in pictures on site. As per other comments the hotplace - only cooking means - was slow so we ate out more often than not. No linen changes but as we booked as an apartment we sort of expected that.
The actual studio we were given was a lot different to those in the photos on the website. I don't know if the residence had recently been refurbished, needless to say we were extremely impressed with the residence. The location was also very good. The extra charge of 15 euros a day for the air conditioning, although essential, certainly added up to a considerable amount. This additional charge was not something we were aware of.
Outstanding value, the apartment was wonderful. I wish I could have stayed longer.
Well! The balcony overlooking the "historic town center" actually means it is on a small alleyway/courtyard that doubles as the dining area for the very noisy restaurant below. The alleyway ("historıc centre") echos and it is impossible to sleep before around midnight-1am. The room was not cleaned during the stay - although only 2 nights so not a major. It is impossible to cook on the electrıc hob provıded. After 45 minutes water had still not boiled! Therefore I would rather have paid for a more comfortable hotel room because the stove kitchen was useless. Whıle I was alone in the room having a shower someone rang the doorbell, so I didn't answer it - imagine my shock when a man let himself in! To check what time we would check out the next day!! This is unacceptable - and when i̇ complained the staff were quite unapologetic. If I did not answer the door, they should not let themselves in.
The rate was reasonable and it was central to everything. The kitchen facilities could be better and the noise from the restaurant can be heard till midnight.
Nice friendly staff. Clean, cool, quiet and spacious rooms. Well situated near everything in Amalfi.
We had good cooking facilities (we stayed in the apartments). Apparently wifi is only available if you're staying in the hotel section, not the apartments.
The residence was beautiful and had everything we needed for our stay in Amalfi.
Excellent location in town; good security; kitchen facilities Restaurant below was somewhat noisy until about midnight but it wasn't excessive.
Location was good There was no signage to identify the hotel and there is no internet.Breakfast was very average.
The lady who owns the hotel is lovely, always willing to help with any enquiries. Very clean and location was pretty good too.
We liked location of this hotel, good relation between staff and guests. We didn t the weather and rates, because the wether was bad and the rates were high/
The guesthouse was really centrally located, very clean and the room was a good size and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay there again. The hotel can only be accessed by climbing some steep stairs, and we didnt get any help with our luggage.
